  1. Surely if one's proven in a given field, then by definition, they've nothing to prove?! I guess it's open to interpretation.
Funnily enough, I was reading an interview with Ronnie O'Sullivan ahead of his competitive comeback at this weekends  Masters. He said something along the lines of, "I've nothing left to prove in snooker...but I still want to prove it!"

No.........Tobi has returned to Charlton. Confirmed by ICTFC Twitter

    Good report, Alex!
Surprised there's not been more 'reaction' to this.
Great news! I'm pleased he's gone - no place at our club for spittters or injury-feigning cheats. (hang your heads in shame, those who defended his diving antics - and there were many. Now that he's no longer 'one of ours' do you still think it fair if a player goes down 'because the ref would otherwise have missed 'it''? )

Ryan Baptie's goal v Wick in the Cup. I hope the Wick bloke he dispossesses with ease before shooting isn't ex-ICT...

That was quite a goal! First time I've seen it - a sweet left-foot shot from some distance!
I'd forgotten to look at the goals from that game, as intended - after, (I think) Mantis's post on here saying he'd been at the game and Baptie's goal was a cracker.
Yes, it was Mantis, I remember now, as he also posted some photos.

I don't know who plays for Wick, but I looked-up who the no.3 was that lost the ball - a player called Gary Manson. He seems to be Mr Wick Academy according to their website, who report he's been a regular with them for 16 consecutive seasons! And that was then...question when the player profiles were last updated!

If we are unable to sign Storey then surely Ched Evans has to be an option for us?

No thanks! No club has taken him on for obvious reasons.
There will be 'sympathisers' who'll claim he's paid-his-due, but if he ever returns to professional football, it will be to the huge detriment of that club's reputation.
We're a club that likes to promote a family atmosphere and doesn't condone rape. Although I know you clearly weren't in your post, and were looking at a football perspective.

  6. Well, I genuinely didn't expect Jim Calder to 'win' it when the poll commenced on 28th December!
Although he was short of a majority win, almost one-third of the 79 voters opted for him.

(I see Tony Reguero must have joined the forum in the past few days!)

But, in all-seriousness, it whets-the-appetite for a potential series of Inverness Caledonian Thistle 'Dream Team' polls (for all positions, including Manager / assistant)
    - perhaps even line-up formation?!

As mentioned in the opening post, a good opportunity to conduct that Poll (Dream Team) would be after the club have played 1000 competitive games - still a good bit away yet in real time...(currently on 944 competitive fixtures in all comps.)

But, come the time, much thought will need to be given to the wording of the polls...maybe have a poll to decide!

For example, favourite 'centre-half' could be Bobby Mann, best centre-half could be Gary Warren, and (a different category), most valuable contribution to Inverness CT, could be Grant Munro. (12 years at the club, team captain, an integral figure during the climb up the leagues etc)
But, all that's for another day.

Cheers to all who commented and voted in this 'keeper poll.

  7. But 'our' figures for average points for bottom and 2nd-bottom do tally (mine are rounded up!)

Edit: To avoid confusion, this comment was in reply to the CB post before the one directly above...

We should have a sweep about what minute ?

 Yeah, I was thinking the same - or a 'first goal scorer' sweep - which would obviously be our goal 1500...
Heck, I hope it's not an own-goal by Stirling - that would be disappointing!
I think Tansey would be a good percentage call to get goal 1500, as he takes the penalties and the within-range free-kicks....
But it could be a Warren header or a Vigurs or Polworth wonder-goal. I'd expect Storey to be favourite with the bookies for first scorer, but it really could be anybody!

  9. Points attained in the SPFL Premiership during the calendar year 2015.

Obviously, St Mirren only contested the first 'half' of the year after relegation, and similarly, Hearts have only been able to accumulate points during the second 'half', having been in the league below at the beginning of the year....hence 13 teams are listed.
Not bothering about number of games played, it's literally points gained from 1st January to the end of last season (1st column) + the number of points accrued in this campaign (2nd column); then the total.
Incredible that Hearts (who despite, obviously scoring zero for the first 'half') are still ahead of Dundee United!
And, although I should know better, It's still a surprise to me to see Partick Thistle so high up there!

    Celtic 53 43 96
    Aberdeen 38 43 81
    Ross County 34 30 64
    St Johnstone 28 31 59
    Inverness Caley Thistle 33 25 58
    Partick Thistle 26 24 50
    Dundee 24 23 47
    Motherwell 19 24 43
    Hamilton Accies 20 22 42
    Kilmarnock 17 20 37
    Hearts 0 36 36
    Dundee United 22 10 32
    St Mirren 19 0 19

  10. A healthy 64 votes in at this time. Dean Brill making a late challenge since I last looked - and it's very tight between Ryan Esson and Jim Calder....
I stated in the opening post that the intention was to close the poll after the County game - but will now let it run for a few days longer (let's say the 5th January, when the decorations come down) as I was thinking that there are probably a number of folk who 'only' visit the site in the aftermath of actual games, and so won't have seen the poll yet.
You could say, perhaps appropriately for this thread, that I've moved-the-goalposts!

Was that the sixth booking for both Draper and Raven? If so, when will the suspensions be?

Yeah, that's 6 for Draper now...but, according to Soccerbase, just 3 yellows for Raven (in the League).
But as rocky1 suggests, suspensions for cumulative bookings tend to take effect later than for red cards - so I think Draper will be available for the derby.
