  1. Perhaps Alex was taking the whimsical ramblings of one (far from disinterested) entrepreneur as a 'fact'.
    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/business/business-science-technology/tech-entrepreneur-believes-scotlands-game-6665250

This games website, from last year, estimated the games industry in Scotland to be worth £30 million annually. (paragraph 2)
    http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/09/05/scottish-independence-and-how-it-could-affect-the-games-industry/comment-page-2/

And that figure is largely consistent with a Scottish Affairs Committee - Video games industry in Scotland. (page number 5 of the document)
    http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201011/cmselect/cmscotaf/500/500i.pdf

Including DD's figures, and accounting for the relationship between GDP and actual tax revenue - plus Scotland's size relative to the UK; the figures from different sources are consistent enough to give a ballpark figure in the region of £30million for the computer games industry in Scotland.

  2. Soccerbase is very good (now that we're an 'established' club) for our results, but still not wholly accurate.
There are a few 'mistakes', but I would still take Soccerbase above any other database - I consider it accurate, but with the following:

    Errors and omissions from Soccerbase:

Challenge Cup 1994-95.  Round of 16.  Inverness CT 1-1 Dundee (aet). Dundee 4-3 pens

Challenge Cup 1995-96. 1st  Rnd. Inverness CT 1-2 Alloa Athletic

Challenge Cup 1996-97. 1st  Rnd. Livingston 1-2 Inverness CT

Challenge Cup 1996-97. Round of 16.  Stirling Albion 3-1 Inverness CT

Error Scottish Cup 1996-97.  2nd Rnd. Actual - Stranraer 1-1 Inverness CT not 0-0

Scottish Cup 1996-97.  2nd Rnd replay.  Inverness CT 0-0 Stranraer (aet). ICT 4-3 pens

Scottish Cup 1997-98. 3rd Round. Inverness CT 8-1 Annan Athletic

  3. It's a World Ranking of no. 31 for Knox. (10th ranked European)!
He's hinted at playing a lot more European Tour events in the coming year with a view to meeting the eligibility for possible Ryder Cup selection.

  4. It technically doesn't count as a miss! He can't be given an X and a Y when we were only awarded one penalty.
For the same reason as, if he'd scored first time, but was ordered to re-take it (due to an Inverness encroachment) and netted again - it wouldn't count as two scored pens!

  5. This thread can be 'put to bed' now, until next season!

...but is now being 'bumped'! Partick Thistle away is the next game!
Can we finally do it, when we return after the break?!

    C'mon, let's complete the set!
Unfortunately, we may have a club called 'Rangers' in the league next season. And, as they're new to me, and Scotland's top-flight, we'll obviously have to beat them home-and-away at some stage, to maintain our record!

  6. Absolutely superb! He'll climb to a new career high (or should that be low?!) World Ranking, too. The list isn't usually, officially published until Monday, when all the worldwide event results are known - but it's estimated that he'll now be ranked n the 30s...
His cheque for winning is a staggering $1,400,000 !!!
Let's get him (and his wallet) on the Inverness CT board!

Edit to change '£' to '$'
(still a prize worth getting out of bed for!)

  8. As things stand every away game I feel we are being kept in limbo because of the uncertainty

of the situation... ie .. are we going /are we not . Is there really nobody in the higher ranks of the club

with a contact to a large company who could go with begging bowl in hand and ask for them to

subsidies buses . As has already been pointed out our rivals OTB can manage it .

Who owns Weldex ??? Roy MacGregor  ???

Ironically, it's our former chairman, Dougie McGilvray who founded Weldex and is their current CEO.

  9. Just looked at our record v Motherwell under Mark McGhee in his previous spell in charge. We've played McGhee's Motherwell 7 times:
    won 0, drew 1, lost 6 :amazed:
Yes, it's a different era, different players etc. but McGhee will feel he's got the mark on us - it'll be a stern tactical test for John Hughes.
Also surprisingly for this fixture, there have only been 4 draws in 42 games, which is quite unusual between two clubs who are often 'well matched'.

  11. Not keeping the fans informed actually worked to our advantage in that last game, when nobody expected Gary Warren to appear in the match squad-list, let-alone play!
Definitely a bit of a 'secret' and certainly not something Paul Hartley/Dundee would have planned for!

I understand fans want to know about their players, but it should also be remembered that ICT FC is also an employer - and those who are 'off work' and their reasons for being so, should be subject to confidentiality.

In any other line-of-work, if your receptionist, porter, section-manager, till-operator or boss is absent from work, then that's between the individual, their GP and the Human Resources (Personnel) department...and is no business of anybody else.

Employee confidentiality is important - we (all of us), don't want every 'Tom, Dick & Harry' knowing our reason for absence, severity and likely timescale of return!
Yes, it may be the talk of the work-place and at the water-cooler, but it's frankly nobody's business; this should also be the case at football clubs and fans need to recognise this.

  12. Yesterday was our first penalty since the Scottish Cup semi against Celtic!
Probably wasn't a pen, but we've had stronger claims turned-down in the interim, so no complaints from me.
Impressive 'match' penalty stats we've got. (i.e. during a regular 90 mins)
We've only got one single miss throughout all the current players in our squad.
...and I keep repeating this every time I update this, but it becomes a stronger claim each time - it's fantastic to have such a reliable taker as Tansey!

  15. And what are the main reasons that the crowds have not increased in your view?

    Glory hunters!
    Pure and simple...
We're no more immune to that than any other club in the country!
Loads of new posters on this forum in the build-up - never to be heard of again.
Literally thousands of 'fans' who attended that day who had never been to the TCS before.
Literally thousands of fans who attended that day who have never been back to (or indeed, ever been to) the TCS since.

We don't have 15,000 fans - we've 4,000. And if that doesn't increase after last season, then it simply never will.
