A club of our size will never have the perfect manager, even more so now we're in the Championship. In saying that though, there's often one candidate that stands out over all the others but not this time. There's obviously some that are better than others, but no-one really stands out. I really don't fancy a return to Butcher, Danny Lennon has a mixed record but did do a good job at St Mirren - we could do worse. I'd rather him than some clogger like Jimmy Calderwood or Gus McPherson.
There does seem to be an inevitability of Paul Sheerin though. He'd need an experienced assistant. Perhaps with the U20s being scrapped, Duncan Shearer will be that man.
