  1. It'd be interesting to know who's appointment this was. I remember a press conference a few months back, Foran was asked if he would like an older head at the club to help him and he was quite clear that he would not. Has Foran since changed his mind, or has the board made the choice for him.
  2. God I hope not. Malpas was a great player and an experienced coach, but his managerial record is abysmal.
  3. Has the light show thread been deleted?
  4. From the very beginning, I was always in the 'now is not the time' mindset. I had no problem with Foran as a manager at some stage, but not without some degree of experience. Be that as assistant or reserve team manager, or even leaving the club and taking over as a manager at somewhere like Elgin, Peterhead or even a Highland League side. So far I've seen little suggest my initial view was the wrong one.
  5. If we stay up - a chance. If we go down - no chance.
  6. My understanding was that he was talking to a club down south about a pre-contract and this somehow led to his essential ostracisation by the club.
  7. Clyde do have a bit of previous with this (they had Adam Strachan and Alan Lithgow previously) but I think it shows what dire straits they're in. Interesting though isn't it? Just over a decade ago they were essentially a win away from the SPL and now after two successive relegations and years in the wilderness they're on the brink of the Lowland League.

  9. Usually to judge if someone has a sense of humour, you write something funny first.
  10. Perhaps the issue with Foran is not the lack or quality of advice from those around him, but rather his lacking of heeding advice when it is given.
  11. Some may remember a Jamaican striker who came on trial at the start of the season called Jomar Loza. He also turned out in a reserve match for us (and looked nothing special). He's since signed for Maidstone who also have Ben Greenhalgh (who's currently away on loan at Hemel Hempstead Town!).
  12. A very odd statement. A few lines that say next to nothing and nowhere does it refute the claims about Foran's future being in jeopardy as was mentioned by STV. The title claims it's clarification....and then clarifies essentially nothing. Why put out a statement saying nothing? Just adds fuel to the fire. Might just be me, but the bit about everyone being focussed including the fans seems awfully like a backhanded compliment.
  13. I've heard on good authority recently that a certain north-based business is very interested in buying a controlling stake in the club. The opportunity just hasn't arisen yet.
  14. The Inverness Courier are reporting that Jaime Wilson, Chris Brown, Blair MacLennan, Struan McArthur, Stephen Rennie and Sam Robertson will all be released at the end of the season, while decisions are yet to be made on Daniel Hoban and Cameron Gilchrist.
  15. Another eloquently written post. Accies operate very differently to us. They have a proper academy and also have a far larger pool of players to choose from locally than we do. You say I am wrong on Billy Reid. Tell me, where am I wrong? Am I wrong when I say he played ugly football? Am I wrong to say he was poor in the top flight? Am I wrong when I say he was unpopular with the fans? Am I wrong when I say his signing policy was scattergunned? Thankfully he's already employed elsewhere, so the chances of him joining us anytime are so slim it makes it a moot point.
  16. The problem is that isn't 3-5-2 we're playing - it's FIVE-3-2. In the type of system you need the wing backs bombing up and down providing the width. On Saturday Tremarco and McNaughton kept coming inside making us ultra-narrow and over-crowded. On top of this, we're still playing the same tactics despite the system. Hoofing the ball down the wings for the wingers to chase when we don't have any wingers on the park is eh.....not exactly the brightest idea.
  17. Billy Reid was dire at Accies in the SPL and the fans absolutely despised him. Along with that, his teams played some of the most negative, brutal football seen in Scotland in recent years, while his general signing policy (which often involved signing everyone available over the summer, then releasing them after two or three games) was even more scattergunned than Yogi's. He's currently employed as an assistant in Sweden and perhaps the fact that he's barely been considered as a manager since he was sacked by Accies tells you all you need to know. Do you use the same tombola to construct sentences that Foran uses to pick the team?
  18. I've heard the same, unless he was to resign. He will not be sacked no-matter what I've been told.
  19. A pretty clear vote for Anier and a fair one. He's been absolutely rotten (MOTM vs County according to Foran though...)
  20. Fon Williams McNaughton Laing McCart Tremarco King Draper Tansey Mulraney Fisher Mckay Subs - Esson, Gilchrist, Mckay, Anier, Polworth, Ebbe, Boden
  21. I've mentioned him a couple of times in the past. Highly experienced coach, who probably has contacts throughout British football. He'd be an interesting appointment, but would he take the job? Doubt it and certainly not if he's already employed.
  22. I'd like a foreign manager with new ideas, a new approach and potentially contacts that could open up a new market.
  23. Even he wouldn't keep us up (after all he blew it last time). He'd want a fairly wage and would lightning strike twice with us? Not sure and his record as a manager overall is appalling. Let's at least try and retain at least some dignity. Jeez, a failed East Fife manager? No thanks. An even worse suggestion than Butcher.
