  1. Brimsie, you must be watching a different Dennis Wyness to the one that most of us on here watch.  Since he got back into the side he has made a big impact in terms of his holding and passing of the ball.  He has been very unfortunate to not to score on several occasions before last Saturday.  Now that he has scored he will gone on to get more before the season is out.

  2. We must not sell him to a team in direct opposition to us at this vital stage in the season, despite the fact that he will leave for nothing in the summer.  Dodds is a vital cog in the defence (although we have been loosing too many goals recently) and we cannot afford to disrupt a normally solid defensive line up.

  3. With regret, I do agree with the thread title.

How many warnings does it take for Black to get the message about his lack discipline.  CC has been tolerant to the extreme with Ian and has made it clear on numerou occasions that the boookings cannot continue.  Unfortunately, this has been totally disregarded by Black.

My low opinion of Black has not changed this season and I wish we had sold him when decent cash was on the table.  He has done little on the park this season and is vastly overated.

  4. Morgan has failed to impress CC in training and reserve matches, so it's little surprise that he's not making it to the 1st team.  You probably ain't interested in that Midge, as you've already condemned CC regardless of the true facts.

  5. There was a crucial incident in the first half when Dargo was clearly fouled in front of the ref.  The "ref" did not award a freekick and allowed play to continue.  Killie immediately wom a corner from which they got the equaliser.

I thought Underhill was shocking in the second half and we most certainly did not get a fair handling from him.

  6. I would like to see Jimmy Calder give Mark some tips on how to save penalties - JC's record was fantastic.

I think MB should done better for the first goal but he didn't have much chance with the other ones.

Mark did save a very important penaltyagainst Clyde in Jan/Feb 2003.

  7. What a bizarre game  - I cannot believe we lost it.  The passing, movement and first touch of our players was excellent and they all seemed to be determined to win the game.  The defence must ask ask themselves some serious questions -  the goals conceded were embarrassing.  If they defend like that in future then we are in big trouble.  It's pointless scoring 3 if you concede 4.

On the plus side Wyness has a big impact and must keep his place.  I was also impressed with Rankin and Black.

If we defend much better and play like we did today then the future is bright.

  8. Bonzo, I can't make up my mind if you're a wind-up merchant or a Ross Co supporter (or both) but I just have to say: if you get behind the manager and the team, they will build on the good position (despite the recent run) in the remainder of the season.  I would have preferred a more experienced manager but Iam fully behind CC and am confident he will do well for us.

CaleyD, you hit the nail on the head with your earlier post, in particular your difficult work experiences - I've recently had few of those.  (BTW, I thought you were a postie not a drive).

  9. Good to have some direct communication from the Chairman (thanks for taking the time out of a busy schedule to do it) and I found it quite informative.  I hope the exercise is repeated.  From what I hear he is making an impact behind the scenes and we will see the positive results further down the line.  It is hard to follow in the footsteps of David Sutherland but I'm confident Alan will prove to be an excellent Chairman.

(Scotty, I promise to have a question next time around).

  10. Charlie is on a steep learning curve and I'm sure he will be the first to admit that he's made mistakes.  A good manager will learn quickly from these mistakes and move on to become more effective.  Charlie has an experienced person in Donald Park along side him, and he will be very important in giving the best advice and guidance.

I always thought the third season would be the hardest so far and although the current run is disappointing (albeit its included games against Celtic, Hibs and Hearts) I'm relatively content at this stage in the season to be 8 points ahead of the bottom club.

I feel that a scrappy win against Killie or Dunfermline will kickstart the season again and bring a bit more confidence back in the side.  The same set of players (and management) got us into a good position and I'm confident that they can keep us there.

Charlie and Donald have my full backing for the moment and that has nothing to do with him being an Invernessian or ex player.  I give all our managers backing until I see evidence over a realistic number of games that the manager is not having a positive influence on the pitch.  (For the record, Baltacha is the only manager that I've wanted replaced.

  11. I think Dargo on this particular Saturday was chosen as the ICT player to speak to the press immediately after the game.  I suspect he had not got being substituted out of his system and therefore said a little more than he was wise to  do.  I don't see it as being a major issue and a quiet word with Charlie should settle things down.

I would like to see Wyness played in the midfield behind Dargo and Bayne.  This will allow more creativity in the midfield and hopefully result in better supply to the forwards.  Wyness is also dangerous in this position and can create his own chances.

  12. Well done Michael you handled the game with confidence and did your prospects no harm at all.

As for the Hearts game  - Brown must play.  He's the best goalkeeper (at the moment) we have, so CC must select the best players for the job.

  13. The midfield has not impressed me this season, apart from the 1st half display against Aberdeen in the last home game.  I think Hart can do a good job and has looked hungry when he's come off the bench.  I also think it might be worth a try at playing Wyness in a midfield role just behind the strikers.  Dennis is at his best when he receives the ball facing the defence - he's then got the option of feeding the strikers or taking on the defender.
