  1. Caley 100 has made a very good point in regard to Donald Park and the vast experience that he brings to the management team.

As far as CC is concerned he has my full backing and I say that not out of blind loyality (in fact he was not even my preferred choice as manager) but because he has done a reasonable job with the resources available.  He has had to deal with loosing his 2 main strikers.  Barring a most unlikely turn of events we will be in the SPL for another season, and that is the number 1 objective which CC has achieved.

If I was advising Charlie I would tell him not to criticise the players in the media, choose your words carefully, don't react to the fans, do your talking through positive results on the pitch.

  2. Are you seriously saying that Keogh is a loss to the side.

I will appreciate Black when he can learn to: tackle hard but fairly; cut out the petulance; and stay on the pitch without the manager being forced to sub him before he gets sent off,

  3. He's got a long way to go to convince me that he is learning to stay out of trouble.  What about his crazy over the top "tackle" on Wilkie a few weeks ago, for example.

If we got offered £200k for him we should grab it with both hands.

  4. Charlie would be best advised not to have a go at the fans because it is simply counter-productive and will fall on deaf ears.  In my opinion the fans as well as the players were suffering a cup hangover, and added with the poor display of both teams it was no surprise that there was little atmosphere.  I failed to detect any excessive criticism of the team.  Of course there were some shouts when a move broke down or bad pass was made, but I didn't think there enough for CC to comment on.  If CC was to compare ICT fans with other fans in the SPL he would find that he and the team get a fairly easy time.

  5. We saw the good and the bad from Black yesterday.  He did look a class act in the midfield and gave Barry an excellent pass which led to the goal.  He displayed the qualities of a creative midfielder which were required.  But he also again displayed his immature and undisciplined side with his extreme over-reaction  to the challenge from Nakamura.  He deserved to get booked for his and he was lucky not to get booked in the first half.  Can CC risk playing him when he is liable to get sent off in most matches?

  6. Went to see Deacon Blue there in 1987/88, before they hit the bigtime.  It was a great concert and a really good venue.  Also saw Danny Wilson - another superb night.

  7. I would like to see him sit on the bench for a few more games in order to focus his mind on the need for self-discipline.  The reason that many fans were upset with Black was not only his red card at Falkirk but also the many stupid bookings that he picked up over a short number of games.

BTW, the current midfield has done fairly well in this year, I don't think Black would add much to it.

  8. Motherwell, a few years back, experimented with lowering ticket prices over a period of time.  The experiment didn't result in any significant increase in crowds and the club reverted to the original ticket prices.

  9. Brand New Poster, I think you've just given yourself away with the remark: "selling their souls".  You're not on here as an ICT supporter are you?

Charles Bannerman has comprehensively nailed it as regards to the merger.  Those who were against it (and I count myself as one, originally, but saw the error of my ways) always exaggerated their numbers and importance.

  10. It does indeed go quiet on here when things are going well.  BTW where are Bonzo and Midge these days  :024:

CC deserves a pat on the back for the good job he is doing.  He has been on a steep learning curve but the team is playing well and if the form of the recent weeks is maintained, a top 6 finish could well be achieved

  11. Why does this subject keep on rearing its ugly head.  No good would come of it if we were involved, it will likely cost the club financially to compete and it will disrupt the league campaign.  In addition, CC is very sceptical about the merits of Intertoto - should his views not be  listened to.
