East Stirling, East Fife or Montrose away - three grounds I've not been to before.
  2. Feck me. I've been avoiding all media because I couldn't stand listening to the (I thought) inevitable home slump. O me of little faith. Wish I had been listening now.
  3. Just confirmed, Cox & Duncan in for McCann and Morrison. Good decision imho.
  4. That's inspired... and the East End of Glasgow is certainly a blasted heath, with more than a few weird sisters wandering around it.
  5. Aw shucks. Thanks for the comments, guys. Sitting in my classroom having just failed completely to engage my fourth years in 'Macbeth', so it's nice to come on here and feel appreciated!

Tsk tsk. That's the online equivalent of trying to get another player carded. I admire Mahonio's inability to tell the ugly sisters apart. Two cheeks of the same plooky @rse and all that.
  7. Thanks, Mahonio I'll probably just get you folks in Chambers this time. Planning on heading through a little later this week as I'm out tonight and again tomorrow night.

I agree with some of what you're saying, but there's some truth in the cliche that teams make their own luck. Rooney did make a few bad decisions last night, but he also worked his backside off again, and his ability to hold the ball up helps us to defend from the front. It would be worth TB having a word with him to make sure he isn't too selfish when he has better options available, but I wouldn't drop him. Same applies to Foran: he might not be at his best just now, but his experience and intelligence on the park are important parts of the team's success just now, imo, and he adds the option of us being able to play high balls to the back post at set pieces for him to knock down for the strikers. Like you, I'd have Duncan and Gillet in my first-choice line-up, despite Shinnie having done pretty well since he's come in, but I'm not sure either will be fit for Saturday
  9. Last few times a lot of people have gone to the Athletic Arms, better known as Diggers, which is on Angle Park Terrace, just off the junction of Gorgie Road and Dalry Road. It's only about 5 minutes walk from the ground and both sets of supporters can mingle in there peacefully, but it does get very busy in the hour before kick off. The Caledonian Sample Rooms just round the corner is decent too.
  10. It would be bloody typical if that bunch of Lanarkshire clownshoes ended it on Saturday. Hope we can at least extend it till Celtic Park - think that would make it 52 weeks exactly. Watching online tonight I was really frustrated by how careless we were for a lot of that, because we could really have turned the screw on Aberdeen otherwise, but to be fair, Aberdeen fought really well until we went ahead again. Great containing football from us in the last ten minutes to see the result home.
  11. What a mugging!
  12. That's been coming. We've been far too meek in trying to take possession and far too shoddy when we've had it. Someone in the team needs to take charge or we're going to lose this.
  13. Jim Leighton. Pretty Aberdeen-centric line-up, but Leighton does have reason to hope McGhee gets the boot.
  14. Had another look on the live feed there but tbh the ball was so far over Munro's head when he went down that I couldn't tell if he'd been pushed. Certainly seemed pretty soft. We're lucky to be ahead - Aberdeen were definitely the better side from about 10 minutes in and Esson has had a good game. Hope TB can get us to raise our game for the second half, though, because we can definitely nick goals on the counter if the final ball gets a bit better. Would like to see Eric on from about the hour mark.
  15. And I thought IHE was the only seer on here... you're a wise man, manfer. Enjoyed the preview, by the way. Going to try to get cracking on the Hamilton one tonight while listening to the radio through my fingers.
  16. Correction: Gavin Morrison in for Eric.
  17. Odhiambo dropped to the bench, but I managed to miss who is replacing him - Cox, I'm guessing. Aberdeen have only made one change from the Celtic game - Derek Young in for Hartley. They must be pretty strapped for players.
  18. Good post. Aberdeen are obviously poor at the moment, but yesterday could still have been one of those freak days. As Simon Jordan was pointing out on 606 yesterday, Crystal Palace lost 9-0 to Liverpool in the early 90s then beat them in the FA cup semi the same season. From a selfish point of view I'm hoping Aberdeen's capitulation was because McGhee has completely lost the dressing room, but they did beat Hibs 4-2 3 weeks ago so we can't assume they'll be incapable of bouncing back from Saturday. Hartley being out has to be good news for us though.
  19. Give me a shout on Friday night and let me know your plans. I can get a train from my front door through to Hamilton West, changing at Anniesland, but I can get you at Queen St instead if you want and we can get the connection from Central. Don't know what pub everyone's planning. Chambers again?
  20. This will be the first away game I've missed this season unless it turns out anyone I know is driving up from Glasgow and then straight back. Even then it could be quite tight getting away from work in time. St Johnstone on New Year's Day is going to be difficult too, but hopefully I won't miss any other away days.
  21. Richard Gordon seemed to suggest Your Call was on and Jim Traynor was in the Sportsound studio early so I assume he's not gone out on strike. Glad to hear Hartley was sent off today, if that means he'll automatically miss the midweek game.
  22. Decided to go shopping for underwear rather than listen to this as we always seem to lose when I listen to games I'm not at live. Same old. I can only assume Duncan is injured? He had another excellent game last week and the twice he's been dropped previously this season our performances have dipped. It must be desperate being an Aberdeen supporter today. Can't decide if this is good or bad for us for Tuesday's game.
  23. Sky Sports News are reporting that Lee Cox has recovered from injury and could feature. I hope TB isn't tempted to tinker with the central midfield that was so good against Rangers last week. On a slightly unrelated note, today's Off the Ball has been cancelled, presumably because of NUJ industrial action. I wonder if Sportsound will still be on and if so, whether its live commentaries will be affected? The BBC website is still advertising it as going ahead, but then, it's also still inviting people to listen live to Off the Ball...
  24. 30 minutes into the show is probably about right. It started at ten past six and they started talking about ICT just after twenty to seven. If you can work out anything Rooney said for the first minute and a half, however, you win a pint of Guinness and a little green hat.
  25. If only Chick would fall off a beanstalk...
