  1. And aye Yngwie, Norwich fans have always impressed me, brilliant in the pubs pre match, and definately one of the few sets of fans to actually appreciate irony!
  2. You're absolutely right, and It's probably me being an idealist and everything, I'm certainly no Football Association guru, so I can't truly say that everything I want would work. The MLS idea is, albeit complicated, very fair and I agree with it, the only problem would be implementing such a complex system on European and South American football, which has had the simplest systems for years. It's almost impossible to change our system so drastically, given all the discontent it would (more than likely) cause among teams such as Manchester UTD. Of course the capping system is my idealistic drivel, and again the top teams with the most say would more than likely veto it. But something really needs to be done. Football, and it isn't the only sport, (It's easy to see when looking at Cricket's IPL) is becoming the plaything of big money men. As the Norwich Fans i spoke to after the game said, the 'SACK THE BOARD' chants are all very well, but its no longer about incompetence, its about how much money you really have. Obviously Mr Wynne-Jones and Delia Smith don't have the funds to get in an experienced manager, and players who will play their socks off. We have much the same problem, as you say, SPL players who have the ability to be really successful in the first tier in Scotland, go to the second or even third tier in England for better money (ie Cowie). However, the Norwich situation did give me hope. The one section of a club, though they go through the mire to watch their side get beaten, they fork out their hard earned money, to watch their club, and every time its more exciting than the next. They sing until their voices give way, and the next day at work noone can understand them. And as with Norwich fans, they were let down. But they'll be back next year. Yes there are glory hunters who will only ever watch their team on TV. Yes there are businessmen who will use teams as their playthings. But by god, in Britain, when you are fan, and I mean a real Fan, you are truly the best in the world. I come from Portsmouth, so it goes without saying that its hard for me to get to Inverness games. I'm sure that difficulty is far far greater for you Scotty. But next year I will take my own time out and get to as many Caley games as I can, to see those who are representing my City. I don't care what anyone else thinks, that's a commitment, and there are many in this country who are the same. As long as they exist, at least there is some hope for our game.
  3. Went to the Valley to watch Norwich City get relegated. A real shame, as they are one of the few English Clubs I admire. 3,500 away fans sang constantly, and put the Charlton supporters to shame, and even after relegation pretty much became a certainty (at about 30 minutes into the first half) the fans just kept on singing. A real credit to Football, considering fans seem to be getting quieter these days. A massive shame, and it poses the question, where has all the noise gone from Football? I appreciate those who want to go and watch football for the actual game, but that argument in itself is being discredited by 'Hoof Tactic' Football that makes the game far less beautiful to watch than it used to be. What happened to the fact that Football used to be Tribal? Bragging rights for your town almost. Glory Hunters and foreign influences have made our game bland. It is less so in Scotland, but even here you will find Invernessians and Edinburghers supporting the Old Firm. I know it must have been said constantly but as another season draws to a close, Football is making me more and more upset. What we really really need is a wage cap and transfer fee cap, it would probably have the same effect as the budget cap in Formula one. Players wont go the club with the most spending power. And the business side of Football (which is currently taking over) will be far less vital. Surely this would at least contribute to a further parity in clubs, and maybe... just maybe will convince clubs to perhaps possibly maybe in some sort of distant reality lower ticket prices?? Just my ideas anyway, thought i may as well moan on the forums, since we all love doing that as Caley Fans but seeing a club go down, despite the efforts of 3500 travelling fans to motivate players who to be honest couldn't be ersed is difficult, for a fan of the game more than anything, to swallow.
  4. I must admit from what i heard i though Barrowman put a lot of effort in, but obviously wasnt at the game.
  5. ESSON (Hopefully) TOKELY MIHADJUKS MUNRO DJEBI-ZADI MORAIS BLACK KERR IMRIE BARROWMAN FORAN
  6. What a bloody result!! I was gearing myself up for a very pleasing nil nil draw!!! But i cant believe it, what a coup, heres to survival, theres much work to be done, but this is a MASSIVE step!
  7. You cant argue with that!
  8. Butcher on Scotland duty this week so Malpas and Clelland taking the training. Ah yeah thats true. Im pretty sure they can handle it though, unless Butcher is the omnipresent almighty!
  9. Good result that! Butcher has done well so far, we just need three points in the League now!
  10. exactly, i dont see why we dont, i think a sense of identity would really help TCS to get a lot louder, the atmosphere there at the moment isnt great really.
  11. Yeah! The Buck starts here, we need to get writing, find the best one and start singing it in the stands, only the fans can really change themselves, it isnt down to the club really.
  12. Ours is just 'we love you caley, we do' Hmmm not a lot of thought i must say
  13. Aye i think Birdog has a point we really dont seem to have our own real identity. I mean we are at a disadvantage being by far and away the youngest club in Scotland but still we should find our equivalent of Norwich's On The Ball City, West Ham's I'm forever blowing bubbles etc. Itl help get our team some spirit together, something our fans are lacking at the moment. Its not like were based in a small city, and as was earlier said we are the only highland team in the Prem. We could draw on something like that. As fans we need to start singing otherwise we will gain a reputation of being very, very quiet.
  14. I hate fans that go to football matches and frown upon those that dont sing. Im fine with those who choose to watch the match simply for the football, they've paid and are well within their rights to. They are there in support by paying for a ticket etc. BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE IT'S FOOTBALL. Singing is part and parcel. I was there today, with a couple of mates and by god when we started singing the frowns we got from old timers could have killed us, if looks could. I wish these old b******s would stop ruining the game. Fans are meant to vocally support their team and it is an embarressment when fans dont sing. I go to 2-4 games a season, so i wont have some jumped up old biddy telling me i cant sing. We need to start making a noise at home as well as away, especially considering our position in the league, come on, fans are the 12th man. People need to understand that.

    Djebi-zadi

The lad put in a lot of effort, i mean hes not technically the most incredible player in the world but we need players who are going to really get in the game and i think he did it today!
  16. I hope he's not even a contender. We need serious candidates
  17. Nah we wont, McBain's fault. He cost us a potential win today
  18. McBain was using abusive language apparently, i cant complain
  19. Theres no doubt thats promising, lets hope we continue to improve in this fashion. All we need is effort.
  20. Aye there are positives but those positives need to materialise into points, and soon.
  21. The reason for McBains red doesnt surprise me, sounds like he carried on using that target language down the tunnel :thumb04: Does seem a strange one - gets a yellow card for giving away the penalty - penalty is saved - he should be happy but then it appears he then lays into the referee again and gets what looks like a straight red....and then carries it on leaving the field....look forward to his comments and his reply to my letter.... :018: Lets hope his reply to your letter is less fruity
  22. Imrie, Mihadjuks and Vigurs all made promising peformances apparently. I just wish we put Rooney on earlier
  23. Totally agree, we gave it 100% this time around and I haven't seen that for a while. Id hazard a guess in saying that Brewster's sacking made all the difference to our effort, as harsh as it sounds, i think he'd genuinely lost the dressing room. Hopefully we can look forward to more performances in this kind in our great escape attempt. The reason for McBains red doesnt surprise me, sounds like he carried on using that target language down the tunnel
  24. Aye, McBain had a nightmare today. Cost us three points, not just one, id say
