  1. Dumbarton look a good bet to beat Elgin {who can't}, they are 4/11 with Hill, Laddies & BaldFred et-al, but the 10/11 for the ht/ft thing from Hills looks a knocking bet, as does the 4/5 against Dumbarton being ahead at half time, {don't matter what happens on the ft result for that bet}, arguable which is the better bet there, the 10/11 for the ft/ht or the 4/5 against winning the first half, I think I'd go for the first half thing, 'cause if they are in at ht you'd be laying 1/9 against the draw or Elgin for the second half, and although it's unlikely that Elgin would begger you up, a penalty or s freaky goal from them would do... Other than the above, {still thinking this one through}, I'm on Bath/Bath today, Laddies are offering 2/5 for the ht/ft result, Northampton are in at the deep end against Bath {think that one through, grin}. Canada Bob.
  2. St Johnstone @ 1.61 for me. Canada Bob.
  3. All's well that ends well, but the Hoops made me sweat for it, off to the Highlands the now... http://www.thehighlandslodge.co.uk/ Canada Bob.
  4. Yer right above Scotty, once this plague has touched you it has a bad habit of visiting you again {and again}, I've met folks in the last 3-4 years who have {as they say} "battled cancer" 3 times, once is bad enough. I'm a tough little owd bloke, but it {the shock} put me on my knees {for 3 weeks} when they first told me I had cancer. After having cryotherapy I was clear for almost 4 years, then a tap on the shoulder and my life is in the balance again, but looks like I've won Round 2 now, or at least survived it, but that don't mean that I'll not be dragged back into the ring again sometime in the future. One thing that I'd like folks to know though is, 20 years ago cancer was a death sentence, now it's more a chronic disease, almost manageable IF you can call on the best Dr's and get the best medications available. The problem for many folks is... once they are diagnosed they have to battle cancer, battle the system that offers "any prize off the bottom shelf" and the {well meaning} gobshytes who insist that drinking green tea, or yer own pee will save yer life, as though you don't have enough on yer plate without having these idiots whispering or worse yelling in yer ear. The one thing that I feel is missing is support from one long term cancer sufferer to those who have been recently diagnosed, once they get the chance to talk to a "survivor" the shock and horror seems to lift. I hope that none of you guys, nor your family ever suffer from this disease, but if you or anyone you know ever does then pass on my words, or drop me a line, if I can "talk anyone down" then I'd only be too pleased to be there for them. Canada Bob.
  5. I hope the Hoops are on form today, I'm up to me b*llocks with a bet on them, 5,500 quid to win 2,000 quid. I'll be watchin' 'em ont tinternet, cheering away every time they hit the back of the net, 6 times ul do fer me Canada Bob.
  6. St Johnstone will do for me @ 1.67 Canada Bob.
  7. Hey ! what can an own mon say, Thanks don't seem to cover it, but I really do appreciate the comments of support that you lads have sent me, I'd give owt to be there to buy you all a pint or three ! All the Best, Canada Bob.
  8. Some days start off better than others, but I couldn't have wished for a better start to the day than this... After being off line for a few days, I'm now back on line and able to catch up with my emails, and the first one that I opened today came from Susan Asterling, the research nurse who works with the surgeon who has my case file. After the operation that I had just over 2 weeks ago now, all of the reports are in now, including blood tests, biopsies etc, it seems that although they knew I had 2 cancers {of a type that was rated a very aggressive type, on a scale of 1-9 they were 7}, but they now say that it seems as though there are no signs of life in either cancer ! I'll include a couple of comments from Sue and the specialist Damian Greene, below. As you will see, it seems as though Sue {who I know well} is a bit mystified herself, they were gearing up for extensive surgery on me {just weeks ago} if the exploratory surgery done in London, indicated that I needed it, so {as they say}, it looked like "the writing was on the wall"... From: Asterling Susan (RLN) City Hospitals Sunderland - Urology Research Nurse Hi Bob Thanks. Damian thinks you are fine and clear of the cancer at present. Must say I am intrigued myself as well. Cheers Sue I'm still letting this sink in, wondering if the cancer has gone completely ? it looks to the Dr's as though it has, the tumours are still there, but seemingly "with no viability" I hope that's another way of saying, they are dead ! Hard to get your head round something like this, and every thought that could be thought is bouncing around in my mind right now. I can tell you this, it's the best Christmas present that I could have even dared to wish for... I still have to take it easy for a while {another couple of weeks yet}, I've had the external stitches taken out, but the internal ones won't disolve for another couple of weeks, so I'm still a bit sore, but this morning I feel like I could fly !!! Have to say I appreciate the "best wishes" that a good number of you sent me by email, PVT's and posts in here, THANKS for that lads, it all helps when yer back is against the wall... Canada Bob.
  9. Looks like my luck has changed in more ways than one... I had a lump on Hamburg last night, they are a good team and knowing that Villa were playing the grounds staff I went all round Wigin putting 4 monkeys on Hamburg at 11/10 and Evens, the only shop that wunt take me bet was BaldFred's, I asked for a monkey at Evens and was offered Evens to 100 quid and the rest at 8/11 FFS ! What's with BaldFred's, they have about 600+ betting shops, but don't want to lay a bet when they know what the punters know ! I declined the bet 8/11, but put 100 quid on at Evens, got the rest of the bet on at Laddies down the street, but before I went I asked... If Hamburg are now 8/11 what's the price on the draw and Villa now then, only to be told, they haven't moved, sigh... Hard to fekkin' believe how miserable these Fagin b*stards are aint it... Canada Bob.
  10. St Johnstone for me @ 1.61. Canada Bob, in Blackpool right now, wifi'ing it on the North Pier ! Looks like "Perfect Storm" outside...
  11. Them b*rstards @ Colchester ! they stitched me up better than the surgeon in London, 6 grand down the drain, and if that was the only money they burned {sorry that it cost some of you guys too}, but including my bet, plus what the Wigin Mafia put on, and 3-4 others that I know, I can account for well over 25k lost on Colchester. Makes you wonder who the bleedin' hell a team that haven't won away all season, and are shyte home or away, can win as convincingly as they did. From what I've been told though Hereford had men playing for them, I'd like to know how much money went on Hereford from connections of the teams that played in the game. Oh to be on the other side hey, to be one of those who can influence the outcome of a game, sigh. Anyway, on a brighter note, Sid's System is still doing well, but one of the lads in Wigin that I had a pint with yesterday, told me of his variation of the system, he's won {on average} 700 quid a week, for over 4 months now, he started the 1st of August, with a bank of 3,000 quid. His variation {check this oput Clacher} is to STOP as soon as he's made 100 quid a day, he'll have done that on the first race today, so that's money in his bank. In 4 months there's only been 11 days when he's not made his target ! sometimes he's made it {like today} on the first race, other times he has to keep his book open for a couple of hours, but for a bloke who's retired now he can't get enough of it, don't forget this is TAX FREE income, and as Maurice said to me yesterday, it more than he ever earned when he was in full time employment !!! I hope that some of you are following the system ? I know Clacher and others don't even want me talking about it, I can understand their concerns, but there are enough variants of Sid's System so that we aren't getting in each others way. I hope that some of you will remember that when I first posted about this {2 years ago, or so}, no one could credit or believe that you can GUARANTEE to make money, and that season to season, year to year, it will never fail, well that's been proven now to those who doubted... I know this post won't last long, it'll be deleted, and that's OK with me, but for those that read this, and want to know how they can jump on the band wagon, just send me a PVT. All the Best from sunny Blackpool, where I'm convalessing next door to a good pub, by the way, my digs here are excellent, if ever your down here "Queens Mansions" in Bispham are definately the place to stay... Canada Bob. PS... THANKS to the lads who have sent me best wishes, it's tough fighting cancer, so I value and appreciate your support, and I'm looking forward to getting up to Inverness maybe in April, there'll be some free ale flow then, to show my regard and respect for lads who've wished me well during this difficult time.
  12. Got one for yer... Just had a phone call from a mate who used to work with a bloke who is now on the management team at Colchester, he told Jackie that they fancy their chances {a lot} against Hereford this afternoon ! Colchester don't look a bad price either, they are 8/11 with Baldfred, 4/6 or less with others, so I've just put a lump on Colchester, who the hell are Hereford anyway ! Let's put it this way, in their last 3 games they have let 7 in, and scored one themselves :thumb04: Colchester are higher in the league, it's 16th vs 22nd in this game. Hereford are shyte at home, but much worse away, their away record is won none, drawn 1, lost 8 Looks like a Banker to me {and the Wigin Mafia}, but we all know how Banks have been doing recently, mind you, that's better than most of us... Anyway, my money is on, and I hope to be in the Bookies at 5pm handin me slip in... Other than that, what a bleedin week it's been... Flew into London last week, got admitted to hospital {one of them pvt hospitals} to have an Op' done on me, cost me just ore 6 grand all in all, but it looks like I was on the winning side of that as things turned out. The Op' should have taken 2 hours, but finished up taking 3.5 hours, so I'm already ahead on the game there, they must have lost money on the gas to keep me down that long too, but they removed 2 tumours from me, and they said that once removed the rest of me looks fine, so money well spent there, especially as I've had more on Colchester today than I spent on the Op ! Took me a few days to get back on me feet, c unt walk at all for the best part of 2 days, 44 stitches in me. I was gaspin' for a pint, and to make it worse when the nurse pushed me round to the day room all I could see was blokes nipping into a pub just down the street... Anyway, 5 days later I'm mobile, and under me own steam I makes me way to Euston Station, jumps on a train {well at least I dragged meself on it} to BLACKPOOL, and I'm now a resident of the "Queens Mansions" appartments {do a Google}, it's a bonnie place, a great chippy almost next door, decent pub down the street, and a walk in clinic not far off {to get me stitches out next week}, so I'm almost as good as new the now... Have to say though that the old joke about "it only hurts when I laugh" is true, 44 stiches, some inside yer guts, the rest in yer belly can catch you out when you laugh, sneeze or even cough a bit, it's shyte bein' an owd mon {61 the now}, but it beats the alternative by a long road... All the Best, Canada Bob.
  13. St Johnstone for me @ 1.61 Canada Bob.
  14. An armed hooded robber bursts into Barclays Bank in Glasgow and forces the tellers to load a sack full of cash. On his way out the door with the loot one brave customer grabs the hood and pulls it off revealing the robber's face. The robber shoots the guy without hesitation! He then looks around the bank to see if anyone else has seen him. One of the tellers is looking straight at him and the robber shoots him also. Everyone by now is very scared and looking down at the floor. Did anyone else see my face ? says the villan... There are a few moments silence, then one elderly Aberdonian gent, looking down, tentatively raises his hand and says: 'I think the wife may have caught a glimpse !

  23. ok now i can see why they were so high as after 25 mins elgin are already 3-0 down :thumb04: Don't lerrit bother you, one man's misery is another man's pleasure, grin... 3-1 at ht anyway, but I don't want any heroics from from Elgin, I've ?2,200 quid on East Stirling, not counting a grand on for our Syndicate. Canada Bob.
  24. East Stirling for me at 1.83 Canada Bob.
  25. The thing about that 10,000 quid though is, if yer betting a fiver or a tenner now and again you might never incur the 20% surcharge, but if yer betting 15,000 quid a week {as we are on Sid's System}, you'll find that you're paying the surcharge within a month or so, who's going to put up with that !!! Canada Bob.
