  1. In part I agree with your somewhat sarcastic post, I would happily see us maintain SPL status next (and every year) with good cup runs to at least one semi or better a season and if the option was there see us win a cup (either) at the expense of finishing in the top 6.

League is over before it starts every year, we have the lowest or 2nd/3rd lowest budget every year - and will probably do so forever until the folks of Inverness get off their arses and head to Caley stadium (attractive football, scoring goals, cup runs & fighting for europe never did it this year so, we will just stick with the loyal few we have and budget on that), so should always be setting targets that are sensible & realistic targets - of which winning cups is the only silverware we can realistically achieve.

  2. Expected shane to go, but not hogg. If it was an affordability issue then id have hoped he'd be realistic with expectations as we paid him through his injury period, if its game time and longrr term risk of injury then I wish him well but think he could have done a job next year.

We need to keep arron though as shinniesta is away we lack a creative player.

  3. I posted somewhere on here that I was hoping for SPL survival and a good cup run and that TB was the right man and to be given time to show what he was trying to build.

Hopefully we can build and sustain the level for future years. Personally I'm delighted with this season not just for what we have achieved but also the entertainment we have seen - afterall thats what football should be about, entertaining the fans!!

  4. We have to bear in mind that many of our players havent been with us that long and have relocated from down South, some like Doran are still young and while many will suggest that these players look to move for money, we don't know their personal circumstances regarding family, GF's, wives etc and in some cases these may be significant factors too.

  5. TBF, the announcer said before the game that there would be a lap of honour - although why the players had to go in to come back out wasn't clear. The way it was announced was poor though - citing the players will ONLY be out if there we no fans on the pitch and everyone behaved respectfully, almost treating us all as children with some kind of reward for good behaviour (not sure if that maybe pi$$ed a few folks off). Obviously the result had a big factor too in people leaving, but at the end of the game I don't know why it wasn't announced again that the players will be back out, maybe those not paying attention at KO or missed the announcement or even forgot during the game?

  6. All being released for a reason - they arent good enough and have been replaced by youngsters and their wages will be too high for what they can offer. I'd suggest looking at the youth players, but in a team that has played so many youngsters over the last year or so, if they were good enough they wouldn't be leaving, still could be a local(ish) gem in there.

  7. FFS, are we still discussing GMS not being signed even though its well documented why -  There are probably 100's of players we 'could' have signed, if they had lower wage demands, we had higher budgets, they didn't have injury issues, would relocate to the Highlands - but we have the squad we have and perhaps they should be shown a bit more credit for what they have achieved this year.

Any chance the fans might actually look to the future instead of always dewelling on the past?

  8. Its in our hands still.

The movement was good but several times the players seemed a bit shot shy, always got the impression that it was Shinniesta who was going to create and score if we were to get anything.

Not sure why Billy was taking the penalty - after last wk I wasnt convinced he was the right choice and was hoping Foran wa going to take control - he didnt seem phased by the keeper's games.

Onto next wk - its going to be a different type of game, we wont be playing much of a passing game on that joke of a pitch.

yet again a poor attendance though considering what was at stake and shame for the players so few stayed back. Its been an epic season and whether we get the Euro place or not I'm proud to say I'm an ICT fan this season for what we have achieved!!!

  9. So Martinez to Everton? Although I see some Scottish media linking Lennon lol

    Special one to Chelski?

Rafa back to Spain to Madrid or will it be Klopp or will he be off to Man City if Mancini get pushed out?

  10.  And remember the fuss when we let Munro and Tokely go, perhaps Butcher got that correct (I think he did) despite all the nonsense spouted on here by certain posters

Surely that never happened - our fans disagreeing with a TB decision and wanting to hang onto the past reather than move forwards, next you will be saying there was a thread calling for him to be sacked even at the start of this season. :sarcastic:

  11. Agree with those above - same team as the Well game, but Raven comes back in, with Devine dropping out and Meekings back in the middle. Formation and tactics just the same.

I liked the pace at which we played with Shinniesta & Nick playing - Doran moving around and Billy up front trying to run behind the defence. Leaves Foran & Draper holding the middle.

Main danger is GMS and how we keep him out of the game though.

  12. Great game, some excellent play and everyone showed real guts towards the and for the winner. Good to see billy back in the goals and to those who question shinniesta and his commitment - doubt you can say that today.

3rd v 2nd chasing Europe, 2nd last home game this season but a crap crowd. Disappointed not to see more reward for the players effort this year.

  13. Good to see that he's still finding success after all the (well documented) problems he has had in his career

I'm sure for some this will make him number 1 candidate on here to replace TB if we fail to make Europe this year.
