  1. BM missed, maybe got a bit caught in the headlights realising what was at stake, but he has proven this season to be a goalscorer and has contributed some important goals elsewhere. Personally I don't think having a thread discussing how bad his miss is will be particularly helpful to his confidence. If I was a player at any club then I would view fans forums for my team and see what thoughts are regularly and if none of them do I'd be surprised - for that reason lets not be so critical, he will know himself what a chance he had to be a hero!!!

  2. Sounds like. Chris Harvey from STV from tweeting to me saying he could have been stripped in the changing room but not played and that's the effect of a ban occur - ie he never played in the game.

Think we are fighting a losing battle now!

So a banned player can be in his kit and sit on the bench, but so long as he doesnt enter the park during the duration of play he is deemed to have served is suspension? I guess it can make sense that theory as a team if they wish can use up a subs space with an ineligible player, but seems implausible that any team would, especially a team such as Liverpool who would have other good youth players who could take that place. Sounds to me like they woudl have played him if needed, the fact he was selected doesn't sound like serving a ban - why for a ban in any other competition does teh suspended player end up sitting in the stand, yet not under the rules for the League cup.

All a bit bizzare, think folks are making it up as they go along now!!!

  3. Did the police act at the time, I never saw them enter the crowd - they have cameras at the game on the crowd and could have reviewed the footage and apprehended the culprit there and then, its not like there weren't enough cops and stewards around the ICT end.

I do not condone the throwing of any objetcs, be it flares, bog roll or other items, but unless the ref puts it in his report I dont think the authorities would take action? He never did anything about the Ngoo elbow assaults during teh game so i doubt a flare will get mentioned!!!

  4. Disapointing result, but the commitment from the starting 11 and the effort even though the passages of play and way we played hasnt been as good as other games. Hearts set out to make us play in a certain way and it worked but we were never going to be sucessful with a long ball game against the Hearts back line.

Credit to McGlynn on finding Ngoo, was a proper handful, but the referee should have acted on the persistent fouling and constant climbing and elbow movements.

Shinne for me was a shining light, when he scored you could see what it meant, then when Roberts took the ball from him towards the end of extra time the response from Shinnie showed a player who really cared for the cause. He put himeslf about everywhere and tried some very good touches of class - whether he stays or goes, to me he is a player that gives his all and I hope we can hang onto him another year.

Its hard for subs to get involved but I though Shane did ok in patches but Roberts looked off pace whether its the occasion or lack of match time. Whether he was the right man for the pen, but he didnt look confident and hd we still got Doran & Foran on the park it may have been a different outcome.

We have to remember that although most of the Hearts team wasnt as strong as it used to be they had 2 Scottish International defenders and a Lithuanian International in theri back line yet we caused them a lot of problems. Lets hope the experience in such a hostile atmosphere for the shoot out and the occasion acts as insperation and motivation to push on in the Scottish cup and try for another Semi oppertinity.

If someone had offered a cup semi at the start of the season - I'm sure most will have taken that, so disapointed but happy at the direction of progress this year.

  5. Why do we need him? Just the press creating a story as usual. If BR returns to Scottish football, its most likely somewhere like Dons, Arabs, Hibs, maybe even County if Roy is prepared to fund it - but won't be to us.

  6. ^ I do agree, but regarding Hooper and other Celtic players they carry the level of over inflated values that players do elsewhere in Europe due to playing CL and in Hoopers case performing well and scoring in the CL. I don't think we can compare our players directly although I do agree they are often undervalued in comparison to other SPL clubs.

  7. well we only have 7 more days to worry about players leaving. Annoyingly its always the same in Jan any deals happen last minute which for a smaller club means its almost impossible to bring any cover into the club.

  8. Whats he worth - what someone is prepared to pay but IMO he is easily worth the same sort of figure as Jonny Russell who s quoted about £2M in the media.

Although what a club would offer to ICT and what the board would accept - I think he would be sold for £400-600k.

  9. Agreed, doesnt sound like a player we would have, plenty other clubs I think would offer more money - Hibs, D Utd, M'well even Killie. Never though JS fulfilled the potential from his younger years.

  10. Not just the wk, but the whole month of Feb, some very tasty games lined up and based on how well we have done until now, this could be a pivitol month is showing where we are as a team this year. Progress in both cups and chance to close the gap to teh SPL leaders.

  11. I dont get that argument, not saying it isnt true, but the distance between travelling to Easter Rd or going to Hampden is almost the same as is the ease of getting there, so see no real reason why location should be a factor. Yes the Scottish cup is (slightly) more prestigious due to European qualification as a prize, however this is still a national cup competition and a semi final appearance, if this is cited as a driving reason, then I assume these absent fans wouldnt celebrate ICT winning the League cup as its not as prominant a tournament?

  12. Any player for any club who signs a PCA should be burned at the stake.  Fecking hate the whole idea of the things....right up there with my thoughts on agents.

Why? Whats different from any person in normal world looking to change job and working either an extended notice period or if self employed/contractor having something else lined up befor etheir contract runs out? Everyone has bills to pay and needs to do what is best for them, their career and personal circumstances.

Whatever AS chooses, I hope its the right decission for HIM. No issues from me what he decides, all I see is a profesional, hardworking young player without some of the attitude that others in his profession show.

  13. Cooper, only 18, playing in our first team, not much experience in an already leaky defence anyways - certainly looks a good prospect to me and performed as well as anyone else. If our fans dont want to see young players given a chance then where is the club to go - we havent got the money to sign experience players like Ferdinand who is coming out of contract. Sometime I dispair at some of the fans posts on here.

  14. Its a good move though as the Bayern team has some excellent quality players as German football as said is a very strong league, probably better than Italy and technically better than EPL. Its probably not all financially based either as I'm sure the english clubs would have paid whatever it cost to sign him.

  15. Crazy to think 6 months ago fans on here were citing that the club would fall apart when Rossco left and now there is talk of him and Granty dropping out of professional football. While I think that they have shown inconsistency in the SPL this year, and perhaps strugleto compete at this level but certainly think they would have more to offer at SPL level without having to go HL......yet.
