  1.

Isn't it strange how fish suppers always seemed better in one's younger days?

Think it was the old newspaper it was wrapped in!

Aye and the extra salt and watery vinegar, fish supper, pickled onion all for under a bob.

I was a pickled egg man myself, and I remember wipeing my greasy hands on the old newspaper before throwing it in the bin and when you got home your hands were all black!  I think it was about 2/6 in my day from Charlies.

  2. A couple were Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve and the whole place was heaving, packed with other last minute shoppers.

Walking through the shopping centre the surprised wife looked up from a window display and noticed her husband was nowhere to be seen. She knew they had lots still to do and she became very upset.

She rummaged in her handbag and found her mobile phoned then used it to call her husband to ask him where he was.

The husband in a calm voice replied: "Darling, you remember the jewellery shop we went into five years ago, where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we could not afford and I told you that one day I would get it for you...?"

His wife's eyes filled with tears of emotion, she began to cry softly and stifling a sob she whispered:  "Yes, I remember that jewellery shop..."

"Well," he said, "I'm in the pub next door!"  .......

  3. Jamie you are sounding like Derek Adams now!  It is no use complaining about the Police and Stewards they are just doing their job and as it has been pointed out ICT fans threw smoke bombs at Dingwall so we will be watched more and they are more likely to pay more attention to those standing and singing.  I am in section F and the singing where you were was great last night best we have had for a long time keep it up but its pointless complaining.

  4. Vigurs goal is superb, but I don't think he did himself any favors with the celebration. I did notice he was pointing to his name as he strode back for the re start too.

To read that he'd also gestured to a fan at full time too is a disgrace.

He's become some what of a Dougie Imrie character for me - All that talent, but his attitude, ego and arrogance let him down

Both got attitude and thats why Terry let them go!

  5. His column in todays Press and Journal is well worth a read. Purely for its comedy value. The man just cannot accept a defeat. Your team can create as many chances as they want, if they don't go in the back of the net then it means diddly squat.

Talk about having a persecution complex!!

The whole article reeks of a bitter bitter man who needs to learn some humility. He talks about wiping smirks of faces in the next derby and how he didn't like seeing ICT staff and fans celebrating the win, time to grow up I think.

That's what I thought and their From the stands is just as bad

  6. Not pretty but we got there.

Seen the penalty on Sky Sports. Have to say Tokely (our 12th man) did have a hold of Meekings, i think Thomson made the right call.

Seemed as though County had set themselves out to counter any football we tried to play though it was clear from the off that we werent 100% tonight. The difference tonight was Billy McKay. County lack a talisman up top whereas we have one who's stock is rising fast. Worked his arse off for the team, put Brown the wrong way for the pen and his 2nd goal was top class. Contracted or not i think we will have offers for him come January.

Reguero was my man of the match though tonight. Was annoyed at him for getting lobbed by Vigurs but he was outstanding 2nd half. Showed excellent handling from the set pieces and when called into action he pulled off some great saves. Safe to say he has cemented his place as 1st choice now.

As much as i relish derbies im glad this one is out of the way. We can get back to focusing on the league and the cup semi final now. But there is nothing better than putting one over on the they who are forever in our shadow. Well done tonight lads. And yet another great derby day atmosphere. Love it.

Only thing that bugged me tonight was Vigurs. The man has talent, no question. But his attitude and conduct on the pitch is disgraceful at times. I saw tonight why Terry chucked him and frankly im glad he did. His tussle with Doran was ridiculous. Trying to get him sent off, that was all he was doing. Its a disgusting side to the game.

I agree with what you say especially about Vigers!

  7. Ach stop yer moaning. The atmosphere was incredible thanks to these same people that were throwing smoke bombs. It was a one off. No one was hurt. Move on. Stewarding will be the same as always. We arnt the first team to use pyrotechnics during a derby in Scotland and certainly won't be the last.

I agree with Alex above on this one, we can still have a great atmosphere without idiots throwing anything onto the field including pyrotechnics!

  8. I haven't posted here for years (and I wasn't intending to re-start now) but I believe with every fibre of my being that we need to be making our own decisions and not be pandering to the corrupt politicians in Westminster who don't give a flying f*** for us or for any other country.

It's not about the money. Scotland has a wealth of resources and talent and it will be up to us to make a success of it - there's no pot of gold either waiting for us or waiting to be taken away. It's not about the past either or how a dodgy vote and bribery cost us in 1707 - it's about our future and us taking control of it!

If anyone finds that either cringeworthy or an attempt at scaremongering then you deserve to be ruled by English Tories.

I for one am confident that the ancient nation of Scotland is more than capable of prospering on our own. I fear, however, that the scaremongering and downright dishonest unionists will win the day in 2014.

However, rather like the battle for devolution, that setback will be but temporary and Scotland will be independent within two decades.

And this is what I think will happen too. Although the vote will be a close run thing...

We dont have to listen to all the scaremongering from Westminster! David Cameron is already planning another 100 new Lords costing millions to boalster his army but we can fight! :scotland:
