  1. agreed with what mate? me or the vast majority of the board? Two very differing views i feel on the whole. I just want fans to take a look at the club as a whole and see that we have difficulties in attracting people outwith our control, ie. location. I dont like arguing with other supporters but i feel there is more fans like me that are scared to voice their opinoins because on this board they'll get shot down if they dont go along with the sack the board/manager mentality!
  2. While we all agree Brewster aint doing a good job who can we honestly expect to replace him? We struggle to attract quality at the best of times! Not because of the board but because of our location in the country. We are a botton six of the table team and if players are playing bottom six/relegation football they at least want the 'joy' of being able to live in the central belt! Professionals in the game think we are nothing but a team that makes up the numbers in the SPL. We as fans have to recognise this when we are trying to attract players. Why should we have to pay more money and ruin our sound financial basis(which many other SPL clubs envy) to sign someone that doesnt really want to be here? We need to attract players who want to ressurect their career and thats always gonna come with a few gambles! Some that work and very many that dont - that goes with the territory. I cant understand why more fans cant understand this point. The teams we're battling with already have a foot up on signing players we're after! Its a simple fact! Back to Brew, players are the same as managers - why would they want the current job in the situation it is? The board are fighting a thankless task trying to find someone better. The sooner we as fans realise this the better. Just because we want rid of Brew and the Board aren't doing it doesn't mean they don't share the same feelings. Has it crossed anyones mind that they maybe had people lined up and they turned it down for any possible reason? People that go on about how well Dundee UTD done after sacking Brew is neither here nor there. They got in Craig Levein - a manager who we couldnt even dream of attracting: we tried to sign him up when Brew left the first time and he said no even although he had just been sacked(or hours from it) by Leicester. The players we attract haven't attracted any other SPL clubs hence why they come to us so why would a manager? As i said in a previous thread Davie Irons, Rowan Alexander and at a push Alex Rae is the managerial capabilities we're looking at and would anyone trust them to spend the transfer budget more than Brew? Afterall none of these three mentioned have had any great success at a similar level if not better than what we need right now!!! A reality check from fans is needed! We sign poorly rated players who hardly anyone wants so why should managers be any different! The board does what the majority of fans on here want and sack brewster - what happens after that? Nothing! No one wants the job of ICT manager!!! Lets face facts! As i've said in previos posts name the man to take over and i can maybe get on board but if its still this Robbo crap then dont even bother. The same men calling for Robbo back are the same ones that wanted another successful Caley manager who left to fail at his 'home' club before coming back cap in hand! Sound familiar Yes - Robbo and Brew: one and the same!!! EDIT: I realise this makes me sound pro Brew which i'm not I just cant see who else can get us out of this monumentous hole!!!
  3. I know you say your clutching at straws but do you suggest we punt a manager in the hope a new one gets that new lift you talk about? Maybe two wins on the bounce! What happens after that? Another losing streak of seven games? We just dont know thats the thing! If the captain says(y'dy evening) the team are behind the manager what else can we ask? As other posters have said we have fighters in the team and if we're all being honest we have more fighters than footballers. Surely the fighters ware fighting for the club and not the manager so should we maybe question their commitment to the club if they fight for someone else and not Brew? Until there is a standout candidate for the managers job what can we or the board do? I know as a new poster i'll get slagged but what can the board do? There is nobody out there that we can all agree on that will get us out of this mess! Maybe the likes of Rowan Alexander, Davie Irons and at a push Alex Rae may be interested in the post but would you really want them to come in as a new manager half way through the season? Could you trust them anymore than Brew with a budget for players? None have been successful at the standards we need but we as a team and fans need to realise this is the top end of management that we can attract. We're not an attractive team for players or managers. The only reason Dundee UTD got out of the mess Brew left them in is because of Levein - a manger who we could never hope of attracting! We asked him when Brew left originally and he said no and this is while Leicester were quite willing to get rid of him and he was doing a crap job! I have this from a good source. (Take it with a pinch of salt if you want) I think some fans need a reality check as to where we rank in the minds of professionals in the game! I've said it before tonight and i'll say it again - name me a suitable replacement and then we can lobby for Brew to get the sack but until then we need to realise we shop for bargain placement players and that has to go the same for managers.
  4. While i never seen the fighting or even handbags it may have happened but i dont understand this attitude of the board not caring about the club. Its there reputations at risk as well. They'll not want to be seen part of a club/business that hasnt succeded. I dont buy this stuff about the board not caring about the club as much as the fans. While we(supporters) feel that the next(only) step forward is to get rid of brew the board dont currently share that feeling for whatever reason! They may have someone in mind already or even asked someone on their feelings about taking on the job and they declined. We just dont know! If there is someone out there who can pull us out of this hole within our remit i cant believe for one minute that the board havent explored it! As i've said before give me a name to get out of this hole and lets get him in but until then we're stuck with the people that are doing their best to keep the club up. Any other suggestion about the people in charge not caring is just ludicrous! Would you rather be a director/chairman of an SPL or SFL club? Of course they're doing there upmost to keep the club up! The only exploration the most influencial board member does is the exploration of finest ales and beers at the heathmount - but of course he does this with the clubs best interests at heart !!! Im sure Sandy Shaw dedicated a song to him!!! I can only assume from what i've read on the board in the last couple of days you mean Bennett because as i've said i'm a bit out of touch by not still staying in inverness. While i dont know him personally I just cant believe that he doesnt want the club to stay up and that he isn't doing all he can to make that happen. Although i'm willing to be educated on any evidence that proves this to the contrary! I may be naive! As i said in another thread would you rather be an SPL director or an SFL director? Its also these guys reputations at risk so what do they have to gain by dropping a division and having our club languish in Division 1? As i've said i'm willing to be educated on the 'insider' goings on and what other fans think we can do to get out of this mess???
  5. That would be taking something positive out of the game though and that's against forum rules. I think that when we get a new striker our fortunes (and Brewsters) will change. No doubt if we had a poacher who could score we'd pick up points. Imrie had a free-kick today that Cerny spilled that was just asking for a poacher to knock in but their defenders reacted quicker! Its these split seconds that have been costing us points all season left, right and centre! At the back and up top! How you teach the players to anticipate these things I dont know but they could at least start by watching back games and see where they've cost us points by being slow to re-act! All it takes is a bit of education on positioning and thinking of where the ball may fall!!! What do I know tho! I'm only a fan!

  7. ...yes it was original - original for the ICT support... and maybe Scottish football. Just because it was the first time we have used the chant i hardly think that makes it original. Also of the top of my head aberdeen have used the chant this season on a few occasions even at TCS so its still not even original for the SPL. Just like most of our songs/chants we've adapted them from poppular football songs and there is no problem with that as everybody does it but to say its original is just stupid! Anyway i think we have more troubles than wondering if our chants are original or not at the moment. ....I've not seen any opposing fans at TCS remove their shoes and wave them in the air.... please feel free to correct me if im wrong Sail them home with Acquiesce On a ship of hope today And as they land upon the shore Tell them not to fear no more Say it loud and sing it proud And they... (will all take their shoes off and wave them in the air) Well aberdeen certainly sang it in inverness less than a month ago. "Shoes off if u love the dons" or something similar. Believe me or not - I cant say it overly bothers me. Also it dddoes not overly bother me but I reitirate that although Aberdire fans sang the song at TCS I did not see them remove their shoes and wave them in the air. Then again my season tickets are in the Nnnorth Stand and my view may not be as good as yours. I'm only asking if they waved their shoes in the air. Yes they did, you should maybe go to specsavers to get them retinas checked as the advert suggests! If your stuttering letters are in reference to me not fixing the extra p in popular then i do apologise and i'll have to admit u r the wittiest person i have ever met coz i've never seen that done on another forum. Then again originality clearly isnt your strong point. Apologies if it aint aimed at me! Sorry but it was not aimed at you. But sincerely, thanks for putting me right, I honestly did not see them wave their shoes in the air despite been at the game. So what was original to me is evidently not original at all ... but hey I found it rather amusing nevertheless. In future I will certainly address my originality issues! Sorry mate i thought it was a wee remark aimed at me. I do apologise i've not been on the board long so dont know the ongoing jokes. Only joined last week to see what other fans were saying about the state we are in at the moment. I dont have much to go on down here in glasgow. Still it was a strange topic for my first post considering the mess we are in. Dont get me wrong while i feel it will do nothing to persuade the board to relieve the man of his duties it was highly amusing! If not completely original! No bother ... I agree there's more pressing issues at the moment than the originality of waving shoes in the air! But thanks for clearing the air (from the odour of smelly socks)! Sound, and if there is a suitable replacement out there for brew i'll start throwing my shoes up as well! Whatever it takes to keep us up!!!

  9. While i dont think he has done a good job this season(obviously) i dont know who we can bring in to turn it around. If someone gives me a name that there is an actual possibility of coming then i'd probably be inclined to punt brew but as it stands there isnt anyone! None of this robbo rubbish either - whats he done since replacing us? Nothing! It'd be like replacing the same man with another. If he is the one to come in and get us out of this mess then i'll be the first to hold my hands up and same i wrong but dont try and kid me and yourselves by saying that robbo is the answer!!!
  10. Very good point and it probably is the case but if munro says that brew has still got the support of the team(and we can only take him at his word) as much as we want him out it can only be seen as a good thing that the team are behind him. If it wasnt for the penalty we'll never know what might have happened. I didnt think we performed too badly today considering the conditions. The game could've gone either way.

  13. I still think its a a positive(a small one at that) that the captain of the club is coming out in support of the manager! Sorry to take this slightly OT but we need to ask ourselves who is the man to take over to get us out of this? I hear the shouts for robbo but is that not just replacing one with another? A manager that was successful at caley before leaving us in the lurch to join there 'home' club and failing there? What can robbo do differently? Both him and brew had similar records before leaving so why will he be better? If someone can answer me this then i can maybe wrap my head around this clamour for robbo? Both managers that left us so why should either have been/be allowed to come back cap in hand?
  14. He didnt need to mention brew at all though, did he? Just say we as a team are good enough to get out of this surely?

  16. Barrowman was rotten today and didnt even look interested after 20 mins. Not even making an attempt for the ball on the edge of the box close to half time confirmed that. His only excuse is that it was a tough job chasing balls downwind that were difficult to latch onto. Both teams seemed to be better pllaying into the wind when the ball was holding up.
  17. although it was amusing on a wet and windy day it certainly it isnt original as one poster claims!!! Newcastle fans did it at the beginning of the season in reference to Ashley and numerous teams have done it since.
