  1. Sounds like County the better team... again
  2. Unless we win, no chance of promotion
  3. It's a diddy cup, Queen of the South match is FAR more important!!! Much rather we lose against County and beat Queens than win the diddy cup and lose against Queens...
  4. Sure, but I worried at 3-0 that we'd get gubbed At least signs of fight...
  5. Eh Surely Dundee are bigger challengers for the league than County. Wouldn't it be better for that match to finish a draw or County win? Only if we win this one. Otherwise it would put County another 3 in front of us. Better 4 ahead than 7. No, disagree. Teams like County & Raith simply don't have the squads to maintain a league challenge. Trust me, County will gradually drop down the league. Dundee won't!
  6. Exactly, which is why those who are serious about a possible league challenge should be supporting County instead of Dundee County will finish mid / lower table, Dundee wont!!! Got to say at this point, I reckon Dundee are gonna win the league.

  8. 1. Craig Levein, done it for a few seasons. If they had not got their players constantly poached by bigger clubs I'm sure they'd have got 2nd in the SPL by now. However every time Levein sells a player he spots a suitable replacement. IMO the best manager in Scotland at the mo, by far! 2. Yes, ICT but it was arrogance and stupidity from the start. Especially for the County game. Hate to say it, but County are not a bad team. To think that 12 points was won as many supporters seemed to think was stupid! This division will be a struggle for ALL teams in it. 3. Yip. 4. I hear Elgin fans are pretty bad :( 5. Agreed, I am critical of Butcher too but we need to support the man. It's FAR too early in the season to call for his head. And anyway, if he were to go which manager would be mad enough to accept this job with all the expectation the fans demand? I would settle for 2nd or 3rd with good football and then next season promotion. Maybe, just maybe we need to be patient
  9. FFS Are all we all gonna change into Aberdeen fans who still brag about the glorious 80s  Fact is we are now in the first division, it's a tough division to get out of and we got outplayed by County. 1 match only. Perhaps the players thought they could just turn up and win? I don't think that will be the case with any team in this division, seriously! Every match will be a battle. Most teams relegated struggle (with exception of Hibs, but they had a very strong team). Partick even got relegated again! If we keep bragging on about SPL when we ain't in it no more and keep expecting to win every game easily then I don't think it will help the team. What happens is fans get frustrated when it doesn't work out and we all start booing and calling for Butcher to go at this ridiulously early stage of the season... it's only been a few games FFS. The season has hardly started!!! Forget the SPL and face the fact that Div 1 is a tough division and there will be few, if any easy matches.
  10. Couldn't make the game, but what the hell happened?
  11. I think we have to forget the SPL and focus on Div 1
  12. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1264029?UserKey= Perhaps it was good management after all
  13. But realistically the crowds (I'm talking home fans only) drop for most teams when they go down to Div 1 (well, Hibs perhaps excepted?) Playing against Queen of the South, Livingston and possibly Airdrie isn't the same as most teams in the SPL is it? True fans or not, doesn't matter money is lost. Div 1 Won't be easy, rarely is... (Expect for Hibs.) Even Dundee United struggled years back and squeezed through with the play offs and had money and a good team on paper. Brewster aside, there were many chances to stay up since that were missed, the players didn't perform... Hamilton on paper are rubbish, but at least all their players have the guts to try!
  14. No...not next season  because 1st Div is tough, defences on top, little football played, few teams make it back up immediately. (Hibs were different and had more money!) Also if there is an average mid-table start to the season, then many fans will get frustrated, crowds could drop and this will put pressure on the players & manager. Sure we will get promoted again, hopefully next season, but to expect it is a 'sure thing' is stupid. It wont be easy... Matches against Dundee, Dunfermline, Partick, even Morton and County (derbys are unpredictable) cant be taken for granted. Difficult places to go away...
