Thanks for the reminder. I'd forgotten all about it!  I've now purchased a couple of tickets but somewhat shocked to see that only 100 tickets have been sold so far.  One only has to see the heartbreaking images on TV everyday to understand what a worthy cause this is and what a great gesture it is from Paul to offer up his medal to support this cause.  It closes on Saturday so, buy your tickets NOW before it is too late.             🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

100 tickets equates to 1,000 pounds which I thought was quite impressive.

There are, quite rightly, numerous successful appeals to help alleviate at least some of the suffering being visited on Ukraine by the despot Putin but every penny is needed and more besides.

Basically, anyone who is deemed to be indispensable for the play-offs and can't be risked.  Ridgers, Carson, Broadfoot, etc etc...

The etc twins are utterly indispensable.

I say, Hopefully they'll plant their tatties on their ploughed field after we play them and not before!!

To be fair, it's improved since we last played them.

Would anyone be so kind to give up 3 minutes of there time to fill out this short survey on Net Zero Carbon for my final years dissertation, its been a long 6 years doing this part time  can finally see the finish line finish line! If anyone can be arsed to respond it would be greatly appreciated! Responses are anonymous

Completed but can I point out that the target date for net zero emissions in Scotland is 2045 and not 2050 as you repeatedly refer to in your survey.

    I know, I know : we'll beat 'em!

I sincerely hope so and better hide away any tins of paint from Ian McCall if we do. One of the most thoroughly unpleasant characters in Scottish football.

Seven wins on the bounce will do nicely!

For once, I am not all that fussed whether we win on Friday or not.

After that, it will be an entirely different matter.

  7. Job done. Third place and Partick Thistle it is.

From where we were a few weeks ago that is about as good as we could have hoped for.

Now the real work begins and, now that we know who we are playing and when, that starts with the club marketing the home leg as widely and as fully as possible.

This is possibly the most important match at the stadium since we beat St Johnstone in front of a full house all those years ago to, after a bit of a legal wrangle, gain our first promotion to the top flight all those years ago.

Assuming the tie remains competitive after the first leg, which it almost certainly will be, Patrick are likely to fill the South Stand with highly vocal fans.

We need to ensure that, as well as the team being up for it, the fans are up for it and outnumber and outsing them.

  8. Very worrying to see Fort William scratch from the Highland League relegation play offs effectively giving Banks o Dee a walkover into the league.

I am sad to see the Highland league increasingly becoming an Aberdeenshire and Moray League.

I have a soft spot for the Fort. I appreciate that they have a number of issues, not least being in solid shinty territory but I sincerely hope that they find a way to survive and eventually prosper.

Anyone. We are the best team potentially of the four/five championship sides in contention.

Probably with St Johnston as the Premiership club.

All to play for come the play-off's, therefore don't read too much into the next couple of games, that's not where the big money is to be made.

I agree. An extra £28,000 for finishing 3rd rather than 4th pales into insignificance to the million pound plus extra revenue we could potentially have from being in the Premiership as opposed to the Championship next season.

However, it's still not to be sniffed at, nor is the advantage of playing the second leg of the first play off round at home.

We need to strive to finish 3rd without busting a gut to do so and it would be nice if we could do so this afternoon making next Friday a game that we merely need to fulfil in any manner and with the players we choose to.

They were blowing out of their arses after an hour last night before they completely collapsed. Gaston was making saves in slow motion. Not sure how well set up they are for two games a week for three weeks in the playoffs when they already look to be running on

We ourselves have to get through the first round first.

Does anyone have a a preference whether they want to face Partick or Raith Rovers ? We have had mixed fortunes against both this season.

  11. A shame for Arbroath who battled to the end.

However, their consolation prize is that they can now sit back smoking cigars while we battle out two tough matches with either Partick or Raith Rovers.

The very fit part timers with their wiley old manager will be well rested and very dangerous opponents indeed.

    Not the under 18's cup.

Well done to the ICT Under 18s this afternoon as they beat Ross County 1-0 thanks to Aly Riddle’s goal:clapping:

It's always good to get one over on County

Hopefully, have that opportunity at least 3 times next season.

  13. I agree that Arbroath have been remarkable with few of us believing they would stay the course.

Whatever now happens, I believe that Dick Campbell deserves to be crowned SPFL Manager of the Season and not just the divisional award for which he has been a shoe in for months.

So, how much has this title race captured the imagination of the nation? It will be interesting to see the viewing figures. How many of you will watch this? I am really looking forward to it and would love for Arbroath to pull it off. I feel the pressure is on Killie big time. Lets hope it lives up to the billing

As I recently posted in the 'Run In" thread, the sporting romantic in me would love it if Arbroath won the league and, with it, automatic promotion, especially if we then joined them in the top division next season. Can you imagine the seething of the football authorities and Central Belt pundits if not only two Highland teams but lowly Arbroath in their ramshackle ground were polluting their top division.

However, the ICT supporting pragmatist in me thinks that we would probably have a better chance of beating the Red Lichties over two legs in the second round of the play offs should we successfully negotiate the first.

    Mixed feelings on this one.

  15. Tonight's game at Rugby Park could go a very long way to deciding the title and with it the sole automatic promotion spot.

Taking nothing for granted but assuming we get through the first play of round, which of Kilmarnock or Arbroath would you prefer to face in the second round?

We should really have no reason  to fear either as we have beaten both home and away this season.

However, Kilmarnock are the full time time with the better players who were able to strengthen very considerably in the January window and, in my view would be the more dangerous opponents.

For that reason, I will be hoping for a Kilmarnock victory this evening much as I would otherwise love to see part time Arbroath with their slightly ramshackle ground shake up Scottish football by reaching the Premiership.

I say, We (The Supporters) will be there, but will the players turn up though?

That's the question as the chaps didn't turn up on Tuesday night to guarantee 3rd place, and some potentially earn a rest.

Whilst finishing 3rd means the advantage of the second game of the Play Off 1/4 Final being at home, it also means more prize money than finishing 4th.

A difference of just over £28,000

The first time we went up, we had a solid squad with Wilson, McBain, Tokely, Golabek, Munro, McCaffrey, Mikey Fraser, Duncan, Brown and Proctor while we added a few such as Juanjo, Black, Bayne & Dods. The squad we have now would need a lot more work.

I agree. We might need to look at the coaching set up too.

However, first we need to negotiate the still extremely difficult task of getting there before we seriously consider what we might require to stay there.
