  1. Unfortunately, Clach have beaten us to it and she is booked to appear at Grant Street in the Autumn with a contingency to move the gig to upstairs at the Gellions if the weather is bad.
  2. As one of those who was there, of course you are right. Another target to aim for before then going after what the Mannie points out is the record ticket sales for the stadium.
  3. If you want to be pedantic then it is recent ticket sales for a home match in Inverness. In fact, for any sporting fixture in the Highlands and a magnificent effort from Hearts fans, our fans and neutrals alike. The next target is to surpass our record ever home attractive of 9,530 against the Dons when the Hill of Dung was our temporary home. Continue to spread the word, with over a fortnight to go I am sure that we can do it and generate more much needed income at such a difficult time.
  4. We are on course for a record home crowd in Inverness, albeit virtually. A generous gesture from the Hearts fans for which everyone involved with the club is very grateful. Bought mine today together with another for my virtual imaginary friend. If you haven't done so already please tell your friends, family and colleagues about this wonderful initiative and encourage them to participate. Let's try to nudge these sales into five figures.
  5. Absolutely. Brightened up a very wintery, ICT free, afternoon. Would be brilliant if we stayed as competitive and showed such commitment for the remainder of the tournament.
  6. Since resuming after our enforced break, we have thrown away a lead against ten men and dropped two points against a part time team with, even in these constrained times, about half our income. That is not good enough. I accept that we are a side that will be spending time outside the top division from time to time. Given our resources, geographical situation and the fact that we lack a wealthy benefactor, we have no divine right to be in the Premiership and spells in the Championship are almost inevitable. However, what is more difficult to accept is being a Championship side with so little apparent drive and ambition. I am not talking about finances or player recruitment here but the attitude of the players we have who are, on the whole, decent enough. In both of the last two games there seemed to me to be an issue with motivation and enthusiasm for the task, especially in the second half, when trying to convert 1 point into 3. The manager can't escape responsibility for the attitude of the players. One of his tasks is to motivate and inspire them and, in that, he seems to be failing. I like Robbo, he seems a very decent person with the interests of the club at heart and is doing his best in difficult circumstances but we have to begin to question whether that best is good enough. He deserves to be given until the end of the season and anyway there is probably nothing to be gained in parting ways with him just now. However, if there is not a substantial and sustained improvement by the end of the season, I think, with some regret, we need to look elsewhere. Perhaps a young, talented and ambitious coach or assistant manager, much as Robbo was at Livingston when he first came, who would be prepared to drop down a level and relocate for the opportunity to be his own man at a club which, despite recent years, has potential and something of a reputation for giving both managers and players a chance.

  8. We are a club trying to live within our increasingly limited means and see out a protracted period of unprecedented fiscal crisis. I am disappointed about our lack of transfer activity but, unless we can come up with a better plan for survival than the club management, I don't think that should be too critical.
  9. To still be viable as a full time club to begin next season no lower than the Championship I would imagine.
  10. There is no great panic to make any signings today unless we are taking anyone, possibly Billy McKay, on loan. There are a lot of very capable players who remain free agents who we could still sign over the next few weeks.
  11. No but it is very encouraging that, even in these immensely difficult times, we are looking to a brighter future.
  12. We don't come from Glasgow and we carry no sectarian baggage. Two reasons why there will be no special measures to assist us.

  14. There is no doubt that we are all disappointed and that both coaches and players were at fault last night. However, given all the challenges that we are facing right now, that is a ridiculously unfair and negative post.
  15. That was very disappointing. I appreciate that we had the disadvantage of a long lay off. However, a team that can't hold on to, far less increase, a lead against opponents playing the great majority of the game with ten men is not a team that is likely to be challenging for promotion.

  17. Raith Rovers currently leading 0-3 at Tyncastle. Evidence that Hearts winning the league is not inevitable. We need to start winning regularly to close the gap in the promotion race.
  18. Entirely agree. Three points on Wednesday is vital now to get our season back on track. Playing two games a week for much of the rest of the season will stretch our small squad but it could also work to our advantage, as far as continuity is concerned, if we can build up a head of steam.

  20. So, Neil Lennon is refusing to give Interviews to SKY due to their 'prejudicial' coverage of their Dubai jaunt. Every bit as pathetic and infantile as Sevco's long running refusal to speak to the BBC on the basis that the broadcaster had exposed some embarrassing truths about their gross mismanagement. It seems to be that both clubs are now in breach of contract with two of the sport's major broadcast partners. If the football authorities had any credibility at all they would punish both by withholding TV money from the ugly sisters and distributing their share among the clubs who are fulfilling their contracts.
  21. Rule of thumb. If it appears in the Sun there is almost certainly no truth to it whatsoever.
  22. Hear hear. He went once before but then returned. Let's hope that this time we will see the back of him for good and sooner rather than later.
  23. I would certainly welcome Billy, at least on a short term contract until the end of the season. However, whatever portion of his salary we were paying would have to fit in with our current, much more limited, wage structure.
  24. After Peter Lawwell's half hearted and belated apology for Celtic's ill considered trip to Dubai, Neil Lennon has undone any good and lost any goodwill created by his latest outburst suggesting that one of the two most privileged clubs in the land is being discriminated against. A little self reflection and a bit of humility would not go amiss.
  25. Watching the Leicester City v Southampton game. Those Southhapton shirts are frighteningly reminiscent of the tops one by the Peru team who kicked off Scotland's humiliation at Argentina 1978.
