  1. Found this on the Scumdee Utd BBC forum, made me laugh; its so true. was chatting to my mates last night about the things you do when playing Footie Manager / Old School Champ Manager. I thought I was bad when I admited to my mates that I sometimes hold pre and post match interviews with myself before or after a big match, however, I'm not as mental as I thought. One of my mates, builds himself a dugout with the sofa cushions and sits there shouting at the screen. But the best one is my other mate, who last night admitted that if his team get to a cup final, he gets dressed up in his suit with a rosette and walks down his imaginary squad introducing them to members of the Royal Family. Legends.

  3. Caley Thistle will offer new contracts to five key players in attempt to ward off interest from other clubs. Craig Dargo, Mark Brown, Ian Black, David Proctor and Darren Dods will be given the chance to sign extended deals. All five are believed to be targets of Dundee United manager Craig Brewster - who has admitted his interest in Black, Proctor and Dods. The players are under contract until the end of next season and, although Arabs chairman Eddie Thompson has not yet sanctioned any bids, Caley Thistle vice-chairman Graeme Bennett is aware of the United threat. Bennett said: "We are fortunate all of our players are signed for another year and some are signed for two, but we are discussing new contracts with those who only have a year left. "We are in a positive position rather than a desperate one. Even if we lost the likes of Black, he is under the age of 23, so we are protected by the rule which means we would receive compensation for him. "We have opened talks with all the players as we do not want to find ourselves in such a situation." Although Inverness are believed to have a put a £100,000 price tag on former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Black, Bennett claims he has not put a price on any of manager Charlie Christie's squad. But he concedes every player has his price and said: "We don't have a valuation of Ian Black or anyone else. "If anyone is interested in any of our players, they can put a formal offer in for them because we are not putting a bounty on anybody's head. "Craig Brewster has spoken to me about a couple of players, but nothing more has been said. The way we left things was United's board was going to come up with an offer, something they are entitled to do, and we would have to consider anything realistic which came in. I must stress, however, Caley Thistle are in no hurry to sell any of their players." Spot on Caley, if we can keep our team together for next season and beyond we really will be pushing for higher league positions. 4. After seeing the Ivory Coast team i've put £1 each way on them @ 50-1 Also put a cheeky £1 each way on USA at 101-1
  5. 100,000 Pesetas?? Obviously Eddie Thompson hasn't been abroad for a wee while!! :021:
  6. Would we be entitled to compensation if he moved on next season when his contract ends? Since he spent most of his development at Blackburn...
  7. I thought it might have been lifted from the site as well. It all bodes positvely though, i've got the dates work off just in case!!
  8. Celtic links referring to Charlie Christie's past playing career. Surely that gets him a foot in the door when discussing possible loan deals. Plus their Reserve Team Manager was heavily touted for the Caley Thistle job before CC got it, so there is already perhaps communication links between our club and someone who has a big say over the Celtic youths' development. He may support the idea of sending a few of his players on loan to a stable, solid club like Caley. Having the training center at Dingwall, as well as our double training sessions wouldna do them any harm either. I just call 'em like i see 'em
  9. What about our links with Sheffield Utd and Celtic, is there any chance we could get any of their players on loan, even as a stop gap for any of our outgoing players. Off the top of my head, Simon Ferry or Rocco Quinn from Celtic are both top notch players, and could do a job for us, even if they were a squad player. Think the likes of Ross Wallace, Aiden McGeady have a role to play this year for Celtic, even the likes of Paul Lawson: so they may be out of our reach just now. It would be a cheap alternative to buying someone in, and it could give us a bit more time to look for long term targets. ... or have we been badly burned by the likes of Darren Mackie and Bajram Fetai loan signings
  10. His contract ends in Oct, does that mean he won't be at a club from Oct-Jan because of the transfer window? I read Celtic were prepared to pay £500k to get him in the summer instead.
  11. http://www.googlefight.com/ This made up my mind for tonight. Enjoy.
  12. Here's mine. *makes mental note to check this is 360 days time to see how i got on. =========== 01. Celtic 02. Rangers 03. Hearts 04. Aberdeen 05. Inverness CT 06. Hibs (without Mowbray, or Riorden, or S.Brown, K.Thomson) =========== 07. Kilmarnock 08. Motherwell (without Butcher) 09. Dundee Utd (with Brewster) 10. St Mirren 11. Falkirk 12. Dunfermline ===========
  13. Taken from BBC.co.uk Inverness Caledonian Thistle are willing to consider an offer from Dundee United for David Proctor. The 22-year-old midfielder, who signed from Hibernian in 2003, has made 46 appearances, and this season helped Caley Thistle finish above United. Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett said: "As we have plenty of options in his position, we'll consider it if the lad wants to move. "But he has a year of his contract to go and the fee would need to be right." United have made a formal approach for Proctor, who missed the run-in to the season with the recurrence of a shoulder injury. United player-manager Craig Brewster, who moved from Inverness in January, is looking to reshape his side after he failed to turn round the fortunes of his present squad. Transfer-listed Derek McInnes, Grant Brebner and Jim McIntyre are all reportedly attracting interest, with United owner Eddie Thompson appearing willing to underwrite part of their wages to get them off the Tannadice books. Veteran former Rangers and West Brom midfielder McInness is attracting interest from First Division St Johnstone. Ex-Hibernian midfielder Brebner is wanted by Scottish Cup finalists Gretna. And veteran striker McIntyre has been linked with Dunfermline Athletic in a swap deal involving Noel Hunt. Hunt is also reportedly interesting Caley Thistle Brebner is wanted by Gretna!! So he's good enough for Man Utd according to Mr Brewster, but apparantly not too good for Gretna. If Eddie Thompson is willing to underwrite part of their wages, do you think Brebner could fit into our wage structure? If Black does move on, and Rankin stays or goes to another SPL club, it might be worth a punt. Brebner can surely see that Caley is a good club in which to turn your fortune around; something he's been unfortunate with over the last couple of seasons.
  14. I think this would be a good move for us. Anything around the £50k mark would be a welcome injection to either CC's transfer budget or Youth Development. Especially as he was considered mainly to be a squad player at ICT. Plus, if Brewster spends some of his Eddie Thomson handout on Proctor, he will have less to spend on the rest of our players. We will also be less willing to listen to offers for our other players if they've already agreed a deal for one.
  15. I think with the training schedules we have, it could only strengthen his endurance and reduce his injury problems. We really didn't see the best of him when he was on loan. I think he could play a big role for us as a striker, especially if (god forbid) Dargo moves on. He has age on his side as well. I would take him. However, if he stays at the Dons i will still adopt my utter hatred of him when we're playing at Pittodrie
  16. I've got a £1 each way bet on Serbia and Montenegro. Best defence in the world at the minute (check their qualiying table figures!); Like the 2004 Euro Cup, i predict another unfancied team scraping 1-0 wins all the way to the final
  17. I was discussing players' comings and goings with a mate who's a Dons fan the other night; and he brought up the issue of Darren Mackie not getting a game for Aberdeen this season just finished. Now.... I hate him with a passion. Despise how he dives and cheats his way through games against Caley; but he has always played well against us. He is strong in the air, lighting quick and has shown he plays well as an out and out striker. Would you take Darren Mackie back given the opportunity? Would he have a disruptive influence on the team? - I seem to remember him "squaring up" to several of our players over the years. What do you think. Feel free to call my suggestion ridiculous and farsical :016:
  18. 1 Finish in top 6 2 Win against Aberdeen 3 Win against Rangers/Celtic 4 Good Scottish Cup run 5 European football, either through UEFA or Intertoto means That would be mine.
  19. -clicky- There's the highlights for those of you that missed the game. Mine's a pint.

    Noel Hunt

I've been pretty impressed by him when i've seen him play. Wouldn't mind him in a Caley strip, but would we have to move on Graham Bayne do you think?
  21. It would be my dying wish to travel and see Caley play in European competition, and i'm only 22! :021:
  22. At the moment no-one has put any bids in for Cowie. Rankin has recieved 4 maybe 5 bids this year alone; they may be looking for a bigger offer for Rankin whereas may not get the luxury of auctioning off Cowie.
  23. Taken from Teletext Inverness Caley have been told there is a chance they can enter the Intertoto cup, but they have to wait till June 5 to find out. UEFA have told the SFA the they are the first stand-by for an Intertoto place should a club withdraw or reach the UEFA Cup instead. But Charlie Christie says his team needs to know within seven days if they are in the Intertoto cup. So it looks like it might be on, but we'd have to play a first round tie on June 17th
  24. Its been mentioned by members that they've watched the tackle in slow-mo several times before posting. Is this tackle on the net at all? I would quite like to see it, to see what the fuss is about
  25. Fit aboot turning our attentions to Don Cowie then? From what i remember, Celtic were after him: not to say that automatically means he's good, but its a good sign. Anyone seen him play?
