  1. Dundee Utd's response - http://dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/index.asp?tm=2...342&cd=2006 We are totally bemused by the statement released by ICT Chairman David Sutherland. It has been fairly common knowledge for some time that these players were of interest to our Manager and, indeed, the subject was discussed with ICT as long ago as last January. In the interests of a good relationship, we agreed to a 'gentleman's agreement' not to make an approach for these players until after the end of the season. Importantly, we upheld this agreement fully. Since the end of the season our Manager, Craig Brewster, has been in regular dialogue with Graeme Bennett, Director of Football at ICT, regarding the players. Only as recently as this weekend did further face to face discussions take place in a cordial attempt to break the impasse. Formal written bids for all three players have been made, in accord with the request of Mr Bennett and only yesterday Mr Bennett informed us that despite a reluctance to sell, "every player has a price." Graeme has proved very adept at these type of negotiations in the past. He has also, as everyone knows, proved very adept at using the media to suit the purposes of ICT and we can't blame him for that. It is however a bit ironic for ICT to now accuse us of the very same thing having done it so often themselves, particularly as we assumed that the players had been kept fully informed of our interest. In a fresh attempt to resolve the matter, it was decided to submit three separate bids today. We now understand the players have indicated that they wish to listen to what we have to say. The issue of today’s news release from Inverness Caley, however, does not auger well for future dialogue on this subject. Nevertheless, we remain available for discussions at any time.
  2. Under 19s :016:
  3. Aye, just noticed that on teamtalk and bbc However, Bennett insists the renewed publicised interest ahead of the SPL opener against St Mirren on Saturday is unwelcome. He said: "It is very disappointing that, on the eve of our SPL season, United have come back to us and have publicised the fact that they have done so. "It is not my job to sell them players. Our manager wants to keep them so that is end of the story. "It is unsettling when we just want to focus on getting ready to face St Mirren."
  4. Although i do like the way he says he'll be "trying to speak to Graeme Bennett". Thats right Bennett, dinna answer your phone!! Stay on the golf course.
  5. Brewster, meanwhile, is also seeking further talks with Inverness Caley Thistle director of football Graeme Bennett. It is understood the United boss is still keen to sign Ian Black, David Proctor and Darren Dods from his former club despite having previous offers rejected and ICT’s confidence that they can hang on to the trio. “I will be trying to speak to Graeme Bennett some time this week to see what the position is,” he said. DUNDEE COURIER
  6. Aye its in the paper copy, and a quick check over to the dundeeutd bbc messageboard suggests its in the dundee courier as well. Notice how he says he'll contact Graeme Bennett- why can''t he just contact him without having to tell the papers about it?
  7. It says in the daily record today that Brewster is making "One final move for Inverness trio Dods, Proctor and Black". He said: "I will try to speak with Graeme Bennett this week to see exactly whats happening" MORE ATTEMPTS AT UNSETTLING OUR PLAYERS, A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE KICK OFF!! I THINK HE'LL FIND HIMSELF VERY MUCH DISLIKED BY THE OTHER SPL MANAGERS IF HE CONDUCTS HIMSELF IN THE PRESS LIKE THIS CONTINOUSLY
  8. I take it you can pay at the gate?
  9. Aye it the annual abdn fudge awards that they got voted best live band; they also regularly win "The most metal of metal" award. We tend to be up for "best rock" or "best international" act (since we aren't all living in Aberdeen); as well as "most shaggable male of course :015:
  10. I don't know Joe personally, but i have seen his band play many times over the last 6 years i've lived in Aberdeen. Not totally my thing, but i can see they are excellent in what they do! Think he got a skin head not long ago, from what i remember... After going to at least 2 gigs a week here, i probably know almost all the bands in Aberdeen by now :015:
  11. The scary thing is, this is one of our last gigs under the title small enclosed area- before we change our name to STRONG LIKE OX. The sexual inuendo knows no boundaries. If anyone's interested, we are the main support for Therapy? at the Ironworks on sun 6th Aug, and are playing the Foundry as part of the Belladrum Fringe Festival on Thurs 10th April @10pm, free entry. A short history of the band includes playing T in the Park in 2003, GoNorth Festival in Aberdeen, Live Sessions at Radio1 and Radio Scotland, as well as releasing 2 EPs on London based Hackpen Records, receiving brilliant reviews from South By South West Festival in Texas USA, regularly touring England and Scotland, and filling almost every venue in Inversneck over the last few years.
  12. :sleep01:
  13. That'd be ace!! Here is Bench's Myspace address, where it has the two last gigs they are doing... http://www.myspace.com/longforgot There's a very good chance one or more of the bench guys will be at Drummonds on Friday.
  14. Yeah many many moons ago we played with bench. Ace guys, still keep in contact with Tim. We are playing at Drummonds on Belmont St, and will prob be on at 10.30ish if anyone is kicking around abdn. Only £2 :003: <img src="http://www.aberdeen-music.com/galleries/files/2/1/aberdeenposter2_262191.jpg">
  15. Pretty positive i'll be there. Playing a gig in Aberdeen the night before, so it'll be early train!
  16. Is Dargo on the bench!!?? In the stadium!!!?
  17. Ok, my two cents. Rankin i was actually impressed with. Everytime the ball was played to an attacker, he was bombing forward to offer support. Can youi actually remember a time he gave the ball away? didn't think so. He'll come good for us this season, maybe in a wide left position though. McBain: Usually i'm not a big fan of his performances, but tonight he impressed me. If only he had blinding pace, he'd be unstoppable. Bayne: Another i'm not a fan of, but i think he could be the man to replace denzil (who was poor again) up front with Dargo. Unlucky with the header off the post, dreadful miss with the one on one, but did well to get into that position. Never stops trying. Ritchie: did very well in my opinion, and maybe deserves that right midfield slot more than barry...
  18. Once they are on sale in the club shop, are you allowed to try on a size to see how it fits, before you make a purchase? All this 'up one size/up two size' talk is a bit of a roulette
  19. Or even Michelle McManus
  20. Any chance of closing this thread? Its all got a bit pointless now
  21. I read that there is a train strike for First Scotrail on Sat 29th, that could affect quite a few people planning on travelling to inverness. Me included!!
  22. http://www.fundadon.co.uk/index.aspx If we adopted this idea, I don;t think ICT supporters will be able to contribute as large an amount as the Aberdeen fans, but it would be a great way of raising money to help with the retention of players. I also think businesses will look to invest money, so that they can have their names associated with those that donate the most. Is there any way businesses can donate money to ICT at the moment, where they recieve a bit of generous advertisement of their generocity?? Apart from Tulloch of course... Any opinions?

    Elgin Friendly

Did anyone else think Ritchie Hart looked a little overweight at this game??
