  1. So yet another pre-season playing against pure diddies and therefore not preparing sufficiently enough for the season ahead

I’m not saying we should have glamour friendlies but a little imagination from those that claim to be the guardians of this club is needed

    We deserve better

  2. From Cool Hand Luke

What we’ve got here is failure to communicate, some men you just can’t reach, so you get what we had last week, which is the way he wants it. Well he gets it .I don’t like it any more than you men

  3. First time I’ve logged in for ages due to my disillusionment with Scottish football but it sadly seems little has changed

Think most folk know my general feelings on caleyjagsforever so I won’t go over old ground but it’s vitally important that a club like ours has a fans movement with a say at board level

At the very least I think a name change is required especially if there is to be new blood on the fans board all credibility appears to have been nullified under the previous regime

One thing I do find curious is however why someone who has spent most of his football watching life being a season ticket holder at  Tannadice would even put himself in such a position to lead a fans group of another club why?

I find it astonishing that the lack of Invernessian input there is in ICT but I suppose that’s society now or it is in this neck of the woods

This is the time for ordinary Inverness punters which certainly appear to be a dying breed to step forward to get involved and you challenge what’s already in place

I am just home after my traditional couple of quiet hours out on Boxing Night, which always include a visit to the ICT Social Club.

Tonight I walked into the bar to find seven people - Laurie Redfern, a stalwart regular, Sandy the barman and five Rangers fans playing pool and playing Rangers songs on the jukebox. By happy coincidence, my arrival in the bar coincided with the jukebox proclaiming "Hello, hello...." to which I took great delight in responding, loudly "You WERE the Billy Boys".... which went down about as well as a Hail Mary in the Louden Tavern. But, as Corporal Jones used to say.... "They do NOT like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring! they do NOT like it up 'em." Into the bargain, I didn't particularly like what I think is the ongoing presence of a picture of Ibrox on the Social Club wall. This is the Social Club of Inverness Caledonian Thistle - much more recent winners than (The) Rangers (if at all? ) of a national title. There is baggage here that we really do not need. Get rid of the bloody thing!

My point? If the Football Club is, as we now know, being reconstructed as an institution much closer to the community and the fans. This must therefore also become the case with the Social Club. Friends of mine?

Got as far as this and suddenly realised this entire post was probably completely fabricated nonsense, certainly has an air of “against all odds”  to it

As for the social club whether it was pre merger or post merger it was infiltrated by some of the biggest belters Inverness had to offer and by the sounds of it still does

  5. Think most folk on here know my feelings on Caleyjagsforever so I won’t go over old ground but I also won’t claim to say I told you so either

We should remember these type of fan groups do not represent the entire clubs support, however they can cross the line when they try and act like they do so

New board members might make a difference but everyone needs to be reading from the same hymnsheet therefore getting the correct folk in is vitally important but they should be vetted first not just added because they are keen

    Background checks are a must

Interesting feature, which I missed on the night as I was sitting shivering in the North Stand...silly me!

I have to agree with Robbo about the history though - as a former Jaggie, we do have a long shared history with 'Caley', but our club was formed in 1994...please don't get me started on the Refuseniks who abandoned us though!!

Refuseniks did not abandon anyone or anything they simply did not want to become a part of a franchised institution, I admire their stance and their integrity

Robbo is 100% spot on and I admire him for stating the bleeding obvious, maybe old Caley girl and Kingsmills should contact him if they take offence and tell him Hearts and Hibs should have merged years ago as it would have been the making of Edinburgh as a football force ffs

    Well said Robbo

Fair point, but think the whole 'attracting undesireables' is totally overblown - there's thankfully not much of that in Inverness

Don’t you believe it, The Apprentice  boys of Derry don’t march in Inverness because they fancy a nice stroll in the spring sunshine they do as they have a supportive network for these marches to take place

You only need to go out in town on a Saturday night and it won’t take long to see how many undesirables there are in Inverness

  8. I personally don’t have anything against such an event or the armed forces for that matter but it’s the type of character these events attracts is the issue

Far right groups like the SDL, local supporting orcs, loyalists, unionists the orange order all try and jump on the bandwagon and use the armed forces as an excuse to meet up for a good bevvy and possibly cause bother

Like Rene says it should not be exclusive to the armed forces  and other professions should also have their day

Some of the utter pish that people write on this website is an embarrassment. Imagine being a grown man and sitting down and typing this stuff out.

If I can give you some advice Chris never venture into the latest download section on the main page that's where the real wallopers seem to post stuff

  10. Well a clown I maybe but this clown has never pretended to be Irish, sung songs about the 1916 Easter rising or urinated on the open terracing at a football ground in Glasgow in the 80s  before ?

  11. Tad on the rough side today but a thoroughly enjoyable trip yesterday with the Lillies

Must admit it was not a traditional day out what with all the dressing up and costumes etc but I guess it is nearly Halloween

Everbody reasonably friendly although there were a few complete belters travelling but what support doesn't

Despite the 5-0 score line still enjoyed the game but in all honesty it was all over as a contest by half time, Clach keeper took a sore one and was rushed off to hospital so I hope he is on the road to recovery

Strong anti merger rhetoric amongst the support and local journalism which they were quite open with

Not sure I will make a habit of it but it would have still have been a better trip than the women's guild bus to Falkirk

  12. Watching the highlighlights I don't think I've ever seen a smaller crowd at a home game than that ?

No sure how official or accurate the 932 figure was but it looks considerably less than that

The club claim both parties in the pavement dancing having been dealt with internally but really this would have been the ideal time to release a public statement on what that actually meant

Why should it make a difference whether it's two employees scrapping than it would if two fans had an altercation?

By keeping stoom it certainly doesn't set a very good example to the impressionable youth

So, let's get this straight, crowds are back to Highland League levels and Dougal is the fans' spokesman?

    Morning Danger

I realise your comment is very much tongue in cheek but would that be a huge issue?

Who do we actually have as a spokesperson at the moment certainly not caleyjagforever or the self acclaimed caleyd the cuckoos who flew the nest

The last disappearing act on such a monumental scale was probably Shergar in 1983

Anyhow I'm off to Spartans today on a traditional football day out like the old days,

    mon the Lilies

  14. It will be interesting to see what the club do regarding the dugout bust up, my guess they will treat it as an internal matter and won't go public with it but if they come out with one of their comedy statements I will look forward to it with baited breath

As for the site admin and mods well none of them are Inverness based something I always found rather odd to be honest

  15. Can't help but think due to the farcical pavement dancing between Polworth and Kellacher that the real issue from Saturday has gone unnoticed

932 was the official attendance, that figure alone is deeply disturbing considering that Peterhead took a good few hundred with them

It's quite clear that ICT fans are boycotting home games this season whether its official or unofficial I cannot comment but the board must have  been  Sh1tting themselves when they realised that only 500 at most home fans added to the coffers

This coming Saturday will only further highlight the issue,  while we have a massive relegation six pointer at Falkirk, by all accounts we are struggling to half fill a bus at the moment whereas Clachnacuddin are going to Spartans in the Scottish Cup and they have already filled three buses and are taking numbers for a fourth

Something has got to give as it's clear we can't go on like this, immediate major changes need to happen or it's part time football only in Inverness

  16. Sports science is a huge part of the game these days and the majority of full time clubs in Scotland are embracing forward thinking ,sadly something we at ICT seem to be somewhat lacking in

Ok I appreciate we have more than a fair share of happy clappers in here but can anyone honestly envisage the PSG bus pull up to the blue lagoon on argyle street tomorrow night to let Neymar,Draxler, Mbappe and Cavani etc off so they can get battered haggis or mars bars?

They are classed and paid well as professional athletes they ought to know what they should or should not be eating

Its obvious we are going to need as much help as possible this season so maybe we should be looking into hiring a nutritionist to point the players in the right direction at  the very least

I have no problem if this was a one off but it appears to be a common occurrence according to some posters which I find quite staggering

  17. OFW should be starting and looks like he would play if asked

It could be easily rectified but there is obviously a serious break down in communication between Robbo and him

To be fair to OFW if rumours are correct he is in a group of players that seem to have been cast aside whether that is down to the manager or finances I don't really know

Robbo should be making mends here priority not what toppings will be on his pizza

  18. Reports all be it from Pie and Bovril that a well known Pizza company delivered en masse to the ICT coach before it departed on the long road north after the game

Ive also heard Ross County were quite shocked how bad Ross Drapers fitness levels when he arrived

Could there be something in this? Hence the terrible start to the season and also it may explain the serious decline since the Scottish Cup Win

Ok most will blame Ridgers or Vigurs as they seem to be the scapegoats for yesterday but maybe the real problem is a lot deeper than that

  19. I've seen myself physically move from my seat to another if I'm unfortunate to have purchased a seat next to or in the close proximity of a jaggie

Think if we are all being honest here we all know that the fools from up the hill should never have been included and deep down the jaggies know this too not they will ever admit it of course

Put it like this imagine if Celtic were forced to merge with Partick just to get acceptance to a European SuperLeague there would be absolute outrage and rightly so as it isn't required

Football has been sadly ruined by money and business men who are not in it for the game but for the status and prestige

Inverness sadly is a prime example of this hence why the crowds are so poor, more supporter  buses leave Inverness to other football grounds around the country than any other town or city in Scotland FACT

Personslly I'm finding myself being drawn back to watching highland league football, juniors or amateur and even that is not that often these days

When you see clowns like that Neymar moving for the ridiculous sums of money involved you know the game as older fans knew it is sadly dead

Sad and Depression is setting in but maybe that's being middle aged
