  1. 2 up now - about flippin’ time!
  2. If we want to get better refereeing we need to out of this league, but to get out of this league we need better refereeing. Catch 94!
  3. If you’re good enough, you are old enough. Unfortunately he wasn’t good enough at a key moment. He was maybe a bit distracted at the time, worrying about his Higher Geography exam in a couple of weeks.
  4. Great first half, took Stenny by surprise with our shape and tactics I think. Deservedly 1 up at HT. They changed things and had the better of the 2nd half and an equaliser was looking increasingly likely as the game went on but is was a bit of a sickener when it came, because that was never a penalty. Shocking decision. After that we were side the clinging on for a draw, which I guess was a fair result overall but we are the ones going home disappointed and angry.
  5. I’d take a draw.
  6. Pleasantly surprised to see that we are the 3rd best team in Scotland when it comes to post-split results! Table courtesy of Scottishfootball.info
  7. If any is ready to laugh about it yet.
  8. The time I noticed him was when Munro had caught the ball, Sole was in acres of space on the left and asking for the ball to launch an attack, Munro saw him but instead of throwing it to Sole he stuck with the usual tactic, rolled it out to the right for us to play out from their, we got dispossessed and bang, 3-1.
  9. Looking for positives from yesterday, I found that there is a pleasant canalside walk back from Firhill to the city centre, with houseboats on it, which I didn’t know about. I was also surprised that from the path you can see the vast majority of the pitch.
  10. Our attacking players were pretty disappointing. Bavidge looked lively when he came on, but it was all over by then.
  11. Funny how Zimba plays against the world’s best then looks out of his depth against Raith Rovers. Must be the jet lag!
  12. Disappointed that we let a lumbering donkey score twice against us, he must’ve thought it was Christmas. Can’t remember us being up against such a slow forward in recent years.
  13. The only good thing about that second half is that it saved us from unwanted extra time.
  14. A chastening second half. Can’t make mistakes like that against full time sides and get away with it.

Messi probably asked for Zimba’s shirt.

For a League 1 ICT player to get an international call-up and be on the same pitch as Messi, wow, that’s something we won’t see too often!

Zimba is on the bench. The only name I instantly recognise in the team is Fashion Sakala.

Chanka Zimba’s first call-up has been mentioned elsewhere, but I think it deserves a thread of its own. It’s quite an achievement to get noticed by any country when playing in Scotland’s 3 flight. The circumstances of tonight’s Argentina-Zambia match are somewhat bizarre, not least because it kicks off just a few hours after Zambia’s 1-0 defeat in Zimbabwe, where they seem to have fielded a young team, while the first team was in Buenos Aries. Argentina were supposed to be in the Middle East playing the ‘Finalissima’ v Spain and then a friendly v Qatar, both cancelled for obvious reasons. So they hastily arranged a home friendly v Guatemala. After it was announced, it had to be cancelled because Guatemala would be breaching some FIFA rule about playing friendlies in different continents during the same international window. So Argentina had to quickly find new opponents, in a week where most countries already had matches scheduled. Hence Zambia. But I’m not sure why FIFA the rule about playing in different continents doesn’t apply to Zambia - maybe it’s ok if they use completely different squads? But here we are, and we could find ourselves waking up on April Fools Day to reports that an ICT player, who has failed to score against the likes of Cove and East Fife, and happens to be suspended here, was up against Lionel Messi and the rest of the world champions. All very strange, but good luck to him!
  19. There’s still hope for us, with Stenny being capable of slipping up just like us. The game against them will play a huge part in deciding the title.
  20. We were so lucky with that penalty. Should never have been awarded (a rare refereeing error in our favour recently), the very saveable penalty was saved and the sclaffed rebound attempt creeps in via the keeper and defender I think. BBC have it as an OG but it should actually be credited to Millen because it was on target and going in before the attempts to stop it.
  21. I’d agree that the manager should have made subs much earlier. We offered nothing of note in the last 20 minutes or so.
  22. Loads of balls into the box and Zimba didn’t get onto the end of any of them. 😡
  23. 1-1 FT Yet another 2 points dropped.
  24. HT 0-1 Lively game, but how on earth are we behind?
  25. Thank goodness Kellacher reads my posts. MUCH better second half, and even after the stupid red we looked the more dangerous side. Happy in the end to take a point but serious questions for the manager about the way we started.
