  7. Presuming the game is against Rangers I would have preferred it to be at a later stage in the competition however it's not a tie I fear, with McCoist at them helm at Ibrox I would fancy our chances every time just now, tactically we could easily have the advantage and take the game to them which they can't handle. If we have aspirations of getting to the final again we have to expect to play teams with bigger budgets, bigger squads and bigger support so I look forward to it. They were poor today and weren't that great by all accounts against Hibs midweek in the Petrofac Cup. All of this though is very disrespectful to Queens Park so we'll just have to see.

  9. If the club wants to continue to grow and become a better brand then a top six finish is the minimum acceptance for the season, it is not acceptable to simply be happy with avoiding relegation. It's been no fluke that we have finished top six in the last two seasons however we took a back step towards the end of last season but then we have gradually each year for the last three made steps forward. To go from top six and a final last season to avoiding relegation this season would be a huge step back and no matter who the manager is with the budget he has a prgression should be expected. Saying that realistically I'm afraid i don't see it happening, I really do hope I am wrong.
  10. I haven't been one to hide my feelings on John Hughes since he was appointed but someone should really coach him on what to say in the press because he does himself no favours at all, on one hand I can see what he is trying to do by deflecting the pressure from the players by saying that if we stay up he'll be happy and anything else is a bonus but on the other hand is he trying to create a rod for his own back? I don't believe for one minute he has told the players privately that this is the aim for the season and if it is then I'll be shocked, we should be aiming for a top six finish taking our last two seasons into consideration and we should be within touching distance of another cup final again. We have a strong group of lads who fight and work for each other and have a great relationship and understanding and I cannot believe that anyone of them would be happy with just staying up so there's no need for the tippy toe attitude with the press, the squad can handle some pressure from the manager and maybe they need it. Also to say that he thinks we'll win more games than we will lose this coming season is another stupid statement to make, I should think we should and we should be going into every game thinking we have the ability to win it otherwise what is the point? He needs to stop trying to be everyones best friend and grow a pair especially in the media - he's got 8-10 games for me to prove himself or help change my opinion but until then I'm afraid I have no confidence in him.

  12. So I had a quick look on the forum and I can't see any posts with the same subject so as I love the World Cup and always pick a dream team I decided to set up a league. If anyone wishes to join it for a bit of fun and bragging rights it's with The Sun and the link is posted below, it's free to pick a team and once you have you can join the league using the following details: League name: Caley all the way Password: Inverness Pin: 8168187 http://www.dreamteamfc.com/ Feel free to post your starting team line up below as well for all to see.
  13. Roll on Thursday, can't wait for the World Cup to start

  14. If I even cared I would sit down properly and pen my thoughts on Neil Lennon and why Scottish Football is going to be a better place without him but truthfully I couldn't care at all other than knowing that thankfully we'll not have to put up with him anymore. With a club of their budget including their Champions League money which dwarfed the budgets of many clubs combined, the size of their fan base, the calibre of their players compared to the rest of Scottish Football, the number of signings he made, quite frankly what had he to moan about. Far better managers with less than the above could have done a much better job and truly dominated the Scottish game in the same position.
  15. I personally think we shouldn't be setting our sights on shopping from a team that haven't been good enought to stay in the Premiership, we need players that are able to work together as a team for each other and not one of their players to me looked like they did that this season not to mention having better technique and ability than our own current crop. Undoubtedly they will release players but Hearts released better ones and I doubt we will make a move for them so why shop from Hibs?
