  1. The bigger you are the less you fall

I seem to remember in England many moons ago

Peterborough made illegal payments to players and got relegated

Manchester Unt did something similar and got fined

Bury played an unregistered player loanee ( on for 10mins) in the cup and got thrown out

West Ham played an illedal player in the league and got fined, costing Sheff Unt relegation. When there was only goal difference between the two of them.

I'm afraid the powers that be don't challenge the big clubs like they do the small ones.

    Iwonder why?

  2. You don't need to be in a Union till you need to be in a Union.

I was aquainted with a head teacher, who gave the names of her parents to the PTA -

Who circulated the parents about an all weather pitch

She was taken to court under the Data protection act -

She got off because she was represented by a barrister paid for by the teachers union.

  3. When I first moved here I was getting a lot of Haressment from B....... St..... a water Company

Their administration was getting me down, phone callsd letters by me where having no impact.

I asked Alexander to sort it out and he did so straight away without any pack drill or ceremony

I don't go along with his efforts in the colilition but on a local MP level he is hard working and concientious

He is a young man who needs to learn a lot about politics in London , hopefully the road to Damascus will not be too long

  4. I don't think you are missing anything

But to say they are all out for themselves is a bit mean

There are a lot of very good hard working people in all political parties

Without there efforts we wouldd be without government

    Show some respect

  5. The people's flag is deepest red,

It shrouded oft our martyred dead,

And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,

Their hearts' blood dyed its ev'ry fold.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

Look 'round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,

The sturdy German chants its praise,

In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung

    Chicago swells the surging throng.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It waved above our infant might,

    When all ahead seemed dark as night;

It witnessed many a deed and vow,

We must not change its colour now.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It well recalls the triumphs past,

    It gives the hope of peace at last;

The banner bright, the symbol plain,

Of human right and human gain.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It suits today the weak and base,

Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place

To cringe before the rich man's frown,

And haul the sacred emblem down.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

With heads uncovered swear we all

    To bear it onward till we fall;

Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,

This song shall be our parting hymn.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.

Within its shade we'll live and die,

Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,

We'll keep the red flag flying here.

  6. I quite like the red flag

It symbolises the working class struggle to get out of the mire of the rule of the Tories in the 1920s and 30s when there was a dire need for socialism

Don't forget that without the Labour party in those early days you would still be doffing your cloth cap to the bosses.

  7. Unbelievable

So Shocked - one of the nicest people in football - He will live long in the memory of millions of people

Deverstating for his family, for Wales, and football in the principality

    Rest in peace

There was a minutes clapping at the Swansea match, apparently Given the Villa Goalkeeper was crying at Kick off

    Nobody can belive it

  8. Hi

    Many thanks for the info

If my reputation on Amazon is under fire that concerns me because that is my living

My reputation on this site is not of my making, it is down to others who are confrontational and get obtuse because there views are not mine

I have been insulted and maligned on this site, not of my making, other than to speak my mind.

I have been warned I know not for what, except that I said the team was , well you know what I said

As far as I know the book was deleted from both uk and com arms of Amazon

I take very seriously my deletions, although it is the provence of my lady wife to do the deletionsI, i sell about 10 books a day, so deletions over many sites take time.

I am getting on now, so I do make mistakes.

Forgive me for feeling persecuted by this site. I was only trying to pass on my thoughts, I bear no malice to the users of this site. I realise that mostly they are young and passionate about their team. I hope for their sake they are right and not me.

Repution in tatters. I think not. I was a senior fire brigade officer for many years. I carry with me an excellant reputation for many years of public service.

  9. To Charles Bannerman or anyone else

    Hi

I wonder if you can help me

I mentioned once that I am a bookseller ; anyway I have sold another copy of against all odds , but I can't find it.

Do you have a copy you can let me have , or do you know where I can get one. I don't want to let the buyer down as he seems keen to learn about the clubs History.

I did wonder if the club shop had some copies.?

But I do't go up to town very often these days.

I have a short timescale on this so I woild be much obliged for any help. I hate disapointing people.

    Best regards

    Laurence
