  1. Aberdeen say no
  2. As you ask, imo St Johnstone, and probably Ross County. I think it's way too early to know whether Lomas is a good manager. He has inherited a good team.
  3. As a casual fan who watches from afar I'd be surprised if ICT could do much better. I'm always genuinely surprised when I log onto this forum and see anti TB threads. Letting Munro go was a mistake in my opinion but I think most of the other stuff that folk gripe about could well be caused by having a pretty tight budget to work with. Which other clubs in the SPL of a similar size and budget have better managers right now?
  4. the BBC have an interesting article. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17310468 Its going to cost the Gers either way, they go bust and save cash, then reapply to the SPL board to rejoin, its in the boards interest to allow that to happen, in the meantime there are 11 teams in the SPL, a meeting occurs amongst the SPL clubs and vote to give less money to the top 2 clubs. Or the Gers cough up and pay their debts. Motherwell will be playing Champions league football later this year though. As for our players I think we need a few more wins yet to guarantee SPL football next season. Motherwell will be playing in the qualifiers. They will most likely have one game against a team who finished 3rd in Spain, Italy, England etc and get totally pumped! Will they not go into the 2nd qualifying round with the 3rd placed team from England, Spain etc not entering until the 3rd qualifying round?
  5. Have to say I'm staggered to find people agreeing with the original post but fair play, I only see games on the telly. From where I'm sitting Butcher made a mistake in completely overhauling the team this season but lesser managers wouldn't have been able to keep us as far as he has from relegation after having done so. I think with the benefit of hindsight he ought to have spread the changes over two seasons and getting shot of Munro was a strange one. However, I honestly can't imagine many other managers having us nine points clear of relegation with a game in hand at this stage. That's not to say we're safe. I think most of his signings have been good. I'm not keen on Hogg and wouldn't let Proctor near the first team squad but apart from that he's got good value from both loans and signings in my opinion. I'll be surprised if we're in this position next season. I can see the injury situation settling down and with a couple of signings/loans we'll do our usual of flirting with top six qualification. I'd be interested to know which SPL clubs you'd be happy to swap managers with?
  6. They were level on points with Hibs and only 4 behind us with a game in hand when Gallacher got injured. I've never thought Macintyre was any good as a manager but he had them going reasonably well until that point. If you look at how awful the boy Smith has been and how many games his errors have cost them of late (two against us anyway) surely having signed a new keeper we ought to expect them to improve a wee bit.
  7. They seemed to be doing pretty well until Paul Gallagher got injured. Maybe a bit simplistic to say that that is the only difference but every week the boy Smith throws at least one in.
  8. http://www.football.co.uk/inverness_caledonian_thistle/caley_jags_embrace_terracing_plan_rss1997030.shtml Anyone any idea where these 1500 people are likely to be standing?
  9. With regards to the fourth stand... Could you not make one of these safe standing areas opposite the main stand?
  10. Am I right in saying that at the beginning of this period there were only 36 games in the league season whereas now there are 38? If so, this makes things worse as attendances have dropped sepite playing more matches.
  11. That's better than I expected for Gillet.
  12. I saw Tade a couple of times for Raith last season when he was full of confidence and he was a lot better than he was on Saturday. However, a few of my mates who are Rovers fans have said there's no way he'll cut it in the SPL. Time will tell but playing next to Foran he'll not be short of advice on where he ought to be and what he ought to be doing
  13. Just watched the highlights and I admit the first goal was his fault. Maybe he just looked good next to Hogg
  14. I'm quite surprised to hear so many people say Tokely had a bad game. From where I was sitting he did an excellent job of holding things together at the back whilst covering Hogg's continual blunders. Or maybe I need to see the highlights
  15. First time I've seen Chris Hogg play in the flesh. As far as I could see he was the problem at the back. For a start he's too wee. He looks decent in the air for the size of him but thought he struggle against Barrowman. His inability to win headers against Barrowman in particular meant the ball stayed in and around our box longer than it should've. Think he was playing Kirk on for the second goal. Stupid place to give away a free kick for the third goal too. Aldred looks a better option. I realise it's only one game though Thought we were lucky not to have been out of it at half time. Fortunately Dunfernline tired. Two centre mids look quality
