Transport to Motherwell
After some very last minute rota changing I am now travelling tomorrow. As ever if there is anyone from Middle/North England wanting to go up let me know.

Section E - Singing Section
We sing more regularly than any other area, Celtic being a prime example. but 15-20 lads cannot do it alone. If there is nobody else joining in with anything other than caley clap clap clap what can we do.
-
Club Anthem/Song.
I agree with Elvis but whenever we start singing it its only the same 20 people joining in. What about Billy Connoly, If it wasn't for your wellies.. Ps CalumthistleFC is a genius name!

smoke bomb
Being completely honest I had also forgotten this even took place until I saw this thread. I work with Pyrotechnics on a regular basis and from what I saw of the thing that landed by the pitch it looked like a very small commercial type almost certainly not metallic and would probably weigh around about the same as an orange. It's not unusual to see the deployment of coloured smoke at games in the UK although obviously not to the extent as on the continent but generally it is within the stand rather than lobbed onto the field of play. Personally I'm rather blasé about it, it neither improved not detracted from my day out as i forgot all about it with the events that followed however it is causing the small group of fans we do have to bicker amongst ourselves which we can hardly afford.

Stadium redevelopment
Forza plans were aesthetically pleasing I agree, but more expensive and unnecessary, we do not sell what we have and until we do it would be merely a luxury to build anything else.

A bridge and a castle
It's the Kessock Bridge, I had in mind when I came up with the song a few years ago (around 2006 I think when I used to frequent on here as caleylad) However in the spirit of togetherness it can symbolise whichever bridge within the IV1,2 or 3 postcode area you feel best sums up the city. I have seen images of the old bridge street bridge (perhaps some of our older poster remember it) and if it was still as impressive that for me would be my choice.

Stadium redevelopment
CB your completely right. how things look on the park is far more important than how the park looks. Although the pitch is as always immaculate. If in the future we are selling 5000 season tickets and require additional capacity or need to extend the boardroom to hold the CL trophy, SPL trophy etc then we will do so. In the manner the club has done everything else giving us only what we need. x million on a fourth stand which would only be filled with Celtic fans does not to my eyes seem a priority.

Stadium redevelopment
I don't care about the opinions of anyone who is not a season ticket holder on this subject only the opinions of the ones who go to home games. Hahaha finally a witty response.

Stadium redevelopment
I agree the West Side could use some tidying up but if we were doing anything I think that boxing in the wings of the main stand perhaps round onto the north/south stands would be a vast improvement. When I was studying I did an autocad design of how this could be achieved along with a cost estimate. will see if I can dig it out.

League Cup Semi Final v. Hearts Build Up
My play the bad guy and distract everyone from complaining at the fan base in general mission is complete. See you all Saturday I'll be the knackered looking one after another 1000 mile round trip.

League Cup Semi Final v. Hearts Build Up
My point is that all these people complaining about 'only' selling 1800 tickets is disrespectful to those that make the effort more than every couple of seasons when we go on a cup run.

League Cup Semi Final v. Hearts Build Up
What about the 1800 to 1900 season ticket holders that provide money to the club each year and give money direct to OUR club. Do you not care about them going? ( by the way I go home and away) Why are these people choosing this game as one to attend? Because its a cup semi with the chance of profession to a final (which is of course a massive achievement for us) My issue is where were they when it was a baltic day in Perth or when we battled back from 3 nil down at Tannadice. There are people travelling huge distances to this game because they recognise it as potentially an historic occasion and I respect that. But if we assume all the regular away fans are ST holders then there are 1600+ others who do not regularly travel away and I have to question why.

League Cup Semi Final v. Hearts Build Up
There are 100 odd regulars at away games. These people I am pleased are going The other 1800 odd attending I'm not particularly bothered about as they don't make the effort any other week.

Proposed new league structure
If we imagine this as a retail transaction I the customer wish to purchase the experience of a competitive game of football at 1500 on a Saturday, with variety provided by competing against a large pool of opponents and visiting different towns and cities. With the sides on as level a playing field as possible in terms of squad size and spending power. Ensuring that you experience the extreme highs and lows that being a football fan affords. With ideally the chance of title glory or even the haunting spectre of a relegation fight. I am not adequately versed in the intricacies of football economics but I am no fool and do not for one minute believe football can survive without money. As much as it pains me to admit it I can imagine that the television monies received for scheduling a game on a Friday or Monday evening compensates financially for the lack of fans attending it does not aid in the creation f atmosphere and punishes those fans that travel to support their team. I do not think anyone other than Celtic will win the league title in the next 5-6 seasons after which rangers may have reached the upper echelons of Scottish football again and may have readjusted to the pace and style of play sufficiently to mount a challenge. It is an unfortunate but insurmountable fact that the old firms stranglehold on the Scottish game has eternally damaged it. As aside from the financial superiority the legions of misguided individuals from all four corners of the country that align themselves with one of the two for no reason other than they are easy to support as or 'my da' followed em' means there will always be an imbalance in this country. I appreciate this has been a rather rambling post but I had 4 espresso's this evening and now can't sleep the point I am trying to make is what I want from any restructure is this: Chance to play lots of different teams throughout the season Money spread out fairly Games scheduled to suit the true fans (those in the grounds NOT on their sofa) Excitement both of glory or humiliation There are elements of 12-12-18 which appeal but I feel its too convoluted over all I'd rather see more teams in the top flight and 3 up 3 down.

Safe Standing
Only so that clubs who do not currently meet the 6000 seater and under soil heating requirements will not have to. New set up still ridiculous. Would be good to see the club take the lead on this in the SPL
-
Safe Standing
Never thought I'd fibd myself agreeing with CC but that echoes my sentiments above. Easy to make the back 3 rows of sections D,E & F standing or similar. Jamie I agree I'd happily pay a lump sum alongside my season ticket renewal in the summer for this!
-
Safe Standing
In that case perhaps the club could apply to the SPL to allow seating in a certain area (perhaps the rear x number of rows) then make this an option during season ticket renewal?
-
Safe Standing
First off I apologise if this has been discussed previously. http://m.stv.tv/sport/football/clubs/celtic/289210-explained-how-safe-standing-would-work-in-scotland/ Is this something which the club could take the lead on and set an example to the rest of the SPL? The lack of atmosphere at home games is well renowned and in my opinion the prawn sandwich brigade's almost constant negativity effects our home performances, could this be a possible solution? I for one fully support the safe standing campaign.

Merger Talk
During the merger I was in Primary 1, I tried telling Mrs Mckintosh I had better things to be doing than ABC's but the bint kept me there. I am wholly to blame. The shame remains with me to this day.
