It was a bad day at the office and we effectively threw away two points not just through the penalty miss but through a complete lack of creativity or any sense from the manager that he knew how to change it. However, we are two games into the season, have four points on the board and no goals conceded so it's hardly a disaster.

As for You, offering violence to fellow fans or indeed anyone else is wholly unacceptable so you will find that that was your last post in this thread.

The threat of violence was from tmftj. Read back

Whether a game against Premiership opposition is necessary or not is, of course, down to the management,  What surely is not necessary is to choose to play it at a time when a World Cup Semi Final is live on TV.  It is in that sense that I am referring to this as a totally unnecessary bit of work.

Surely were not ever going to base our preparations for the new season on the players wanting to watch the world cup. Never heard such nonsense.

I think some posters may 'have it in' for Bannerman based on his vociferous criticisms of Scottish Independence in the politics thread. I actually don't think it's a good idea to have politics sections on football forums for that very reason. It's divisive and polarizing. Football is supposed to be an escape from that kind of thing.

Back on topic, rumours that County are interested in Warren as a 'like for like' replacement for Andrew Davies. Out of the 2 I'd say Warren would actually be an upgrade for them.

If anyone 'had it in' for Bannerman, it would be purely down to his style of trying to make himself sound so much better than anyone else on here.

  4. Although it's only a rumour it would if  great if he came out with a statement early stating his intentions to stay.

Something along the lines of "although there has been no official approach from anyone I would like to confirm my immediate future is at ICTFC" or something like that just to put our minds at rest that we aren't looking for a new gaffer.

Storey is ten years younger - It’s not really the same.

Why. I keep trying to reiterate. Gary has 1 year left on his deal. If he finds nothing that betters his current terms not reduced, current, then he stays for the year and we weren't offering a new deal so he's a free agent.

We have not in any way treated him badly.

He is, as it stands our player and our captain.

You know, I've taken half an hour to reflect - by no means for the first time in recent months, but today through the medium of this individual thread - on where CTO seems to be going, in particular since relegation. The unfortunate conclusion is that it simply isn't the same vibrant and constructive medium that it was when I first joined in the early 2000s, and in particular the feeling that everybody was in this journey together seems to have gone. This isn't a sudden observation on my part, but more a "next step" in an ongoing process. Consequently, and this is a conclusion come to at considerable length, not just this morning, I think I'm going to give contributing to CTO a miss from now on. Quite frankly, it's lost its allure for me and I'm sure I can find some other means of engaging with ICTFC.

    That was emotional.

See the funny thing about it is after reading a lot of football forums mainly of whoever we playing match day and also pie and bovril, this 1 is by far the tamest in regards to personal abuse.

Obviously we don't want people personally insulting people with swear words and stuff but that is something that never happens here.

It seems we have become a little over sensitive on here because most of it you will debate the same way with friends but you won't just say that's it am no your mate anymore cos you disagree.

As far as the forum starting as a journey and has lost its allure were still going on a journey which has a very important phase coming up with 25 years to celebrate along with hopefully a promotion .

I am on a years employment contract. Next june I have to have found a new job but I am also on three months notice which makes it hard for future employment contracts.

If i was allowed to move freely i might be able to get a longer contract with another employer before the end of the year to give myself greater security or better long term prospects.

I am sad Gary will eventually leave the club but not holding him to the notice period gives him the choice to stay and potential  to look for longer or better prospects elsewhere.

And if there is no fee he might get a signing bonus.

Fair and honourable and football .

Good decision and good communication to gary and supporters.

Bang on mate. It's no sinister plot it's football

  8. Your completely missing the point.

Unless something comes up, which it probably wont, something that means he doesn't lose out financially or suit his personal life then come the start of the season he will be still our player and our captain. It's blatantly obvious in black and white with actual quotes from the gaffer.

He only leaves if he wants to leave and that will be by his agent getting him a better deal that suits him AND his family.

The faux outrage is cringeworthy from some.

Yes we will miss him as a player from a couple years ago maybe or even yes towards end of this season and undoubtedly as captain and leader of men but this is football and players come and go. We  are not pushing him out and we certainly  haven't sneaked the news out as the most important person involved knew weeks ago the situation.

If, as we are expected to believe, Gary Warren is being paid over the odds...then by what logic do the club (and those supporting their actions) expect him to find a better offer elsewhere and just walk away?

What's more; on one hand this is being pushed as a cost saving exercise...but the story doesn't fit with that as Robbo is allegedly saying that it will allow him to bring in 3 other players.  That's not a cost cutting exercise, that's a decision to go with quantity over quality.....a policy that has NEVER served us well.

If it looks like BS, smells like BS and tastes like BS....chances are, it's BS!!

    Plenty of BS that post.

    Read the report again.

This is no overnight decision as robbo stated he made Gary and his agent aware a few weeks ago.

He has also been told that if he doesn't find a deal that suits him financially and more importantly somewhere him and his family are happy to move too them he will remain an ictfc player and also our captain for the remain see of his time here so he obviously won't be frozen out as he will be playing as captain not benched.

Somethings gripping your sh*t within the club at the moment as all your recent posts are coming across as butthurt.

I think we have played this exactly as we should.

He's free to leave if it 100% suits him to do so if not carry on for his final year.

  10. Is this the 1st time since the playoffs that 4 new teams have entered the championship through relegation/promotion.

That's nearly half the league replaced and should really freshen things up.

Here's hoping for a much much better start this year and put ourselves in a strong position before Xmas.

But, just as you insinuated the Administration Rumour on to the Announcement thread ("hypotherically", of course), you thought you would just insert this snidey wee negative, also with its "save my own backside" qualification, on to this one......

Not sure if this will post or not as unsure if banned but.....

I see your still up to your old moronic ways Charlie boy.

    Adios again.

If I am to be barred I will make it worth my while and publically state that Charles Bannerman is a complete moron

So when is this alleged "announcement" actually going to come?

In fact, what's the most likely next announcement? At this time of year, might it not be about 2018-19 season tickets which must surely be due to go on sale within the next two weeks? Maybe the board will even get Gordy Fyfe's uncle to do the official launch?

Inevitably, this thread's extremely vague, open ended, unsubstantiated OP was going to kick off speculation, and one form in which this quickly emerged was through "The A-word". So let's look at just how that sinister notion was inserted into this thread.

The first to use "The A-word" was Fraz - but only in one of a number of scenarios which were clearly humorous and satirical to the extent that 11 other posts followed in which this idea was not pursued.

And THEN we get the first serious and completely unprompted reference to "The A-word"...."Hypothetically speaking" of course - aye, right. And it comes from that one-time Arch Happy Clapper and Cheerleader In Chief for the former board, CALEY D, who not only makes serious reference to the concept but also tells us "it would come as absolutely no surprise" to him. Well of course it wouldn't, given that those he went to such pains for so long to present as The Infallible Ones have vacated the boardroom, to be succeeded by people with whom he no longer has any working relationship. Speculation... destabilising speculation... about Administration is hence the creation of CALEYD and we now await whether this has any more substance than what the rumour machine told us about it some months ago.

Donald... it's time you came clean about the nature of your agenda. Some years ago you waged a relentless campaign on here against the administration of the time. Then, by means which remain unclear, you suddenly not only took up the said Arch Happy Clapper and Chief Cheerleader roles, you also waged an equally relentless campaign telling us how absolutely wonderful the whole thing had suddenly become. This also created a conflict of interest, making it impossible to tell whether CaleyD was speaking or whether this was the official view of the club. And now, after you made more departures and comebacks than Frank Sinatra, you seem to have had a second holiday to Damascus, which appears to have prompted the dissolution of your relationship with the current board.

And with that, you have reverted to your earlier status of "Caley Thistle BAD". (This may be pure coincidence, of course???)

I therefore think it's time you explained to us the agenda motivating the tone and content of many of your comments - on this forum at least.

Do us all a favour and take a break from here and also your crap highland news column.

The club are making a decent attempt at marketing/promoting the final, hats off to them!

Anyone else think that they are making a better job of marketing the so-called 'diddy' cup final (not by me, by the way - looking forward to it!) than our scottish cup final in 2015?

Two completely different cup finals but I have to say we have been all over Facebook and all round the community too in the build up to this.

Am lucky enough to have 2 of my kids holding both cups before the games so am hoping that's a good omen.
