The town doesn't deserve this club, never has. In the meantime Richie has to get a striker and a centre back in on loan, if he has any network at all. Thin margins yesterday against County, the difference between a team that's going well and a team sapped of all confidence.

How the hell does the town not deserve the club

  2. My work colleague was in a drinking establishment last night and said he was chatting to  a scouse guy who claimed to be Ben Woodwards agent. for those who dont know him he became Liverpool fc youngest ever goal scorer in a cup tie v Leeds recently.

Anyway apparantly this guy is meeting Kenny Cameron today for talks to loan this player to us in Jan window.

Could be a good signing if true if he is anywhere near the level of the Maddison boy at Aberdeen.

Just a rumour though so we will see how it pans out over next couple of weeks

  3. I am actually nowhere near as annoyed as i should be if we we're to lose Greg.

For me he has been one of if not the biggest  disappointment of this season.

Given every  start  possible never dropped and am really struggling to think of anything great he has done  this season that stands out.

If he leaves am fine with it, even if it is to Aberdeen.

a very satisfying evening .... hope I am able to say the same thing later tonight after the Toronto game. TFC take on Philadelphia in the first round of the MLS playoffs tonight ... its a one-off knockout game here in Toronto. Winners go on to face NYC FC on Sunday

95% of this post belongs in other football thread

Just kiddin hope you get a result as good as :ictscarf:

  5. I dont really care what option we end up with.

I also don't mind if user's see if i red or green dotted them amd if asked would gladly explain why.

I dish out more green than reds anyway.

Unless its dougall. I always red dot that guy. Saves me from dishing out personal abuse to the guy and gettin banned of here altogether

Agree with Rig. This is becoming tedious. As with most stuff emailing the club would be a better option.

At the end of the day you dont have to click on the thread if its tedious for you.

The new manager is still finding his feet with regard to what and how much to share with the media and fans and when. I have no doubt that he and others are working hard to bring in players to improve both the starting XI and the squad. Give him a break.

    Nonsense.

If the manager says we will  sign 2 players today thats pretty definitive.

    Where are they?

I think the difference is that long before ICTFC - or maybe I should say Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club - was even thought of, and unlike the other quoted phrases, the expression "Pride of.... this, that and the other" was standard English usage. It therefore follows that ICTFC is presuming to lay exclusive claim to an already established idiom which, as such, I find difficult to see as its intellectual property. It's a bit like the case a few years ago when a food chain tried to block the owner's name going up on a Fort William restaurant - until Mr and Mrs MacDonald successfully objected.

The "Pride of the Highlands" tag for the club? Well I think it's a bit twee and cheesy but I'm not too fussed one way or the other about using it. Claiming exclusive rights to it though? Well that's maybe a bit grandiose and disrespectful to the huge amount of Highland life which goes on outwith football.

    LATE August!! What a joke

You sound surprised. Its the same every year regardless of kit maker or merchandiser. But aye your right its an absolute farce.

The club really need to get a grip on this.

And before anyone chastises me telling me it's not the clubs fault, i agree however, they as the customer really should have learned by now and ensured that we as thier customers (after all thats what we are) aren't in this situation year in year out.

With the rare exception of died in the wool ex-Jaggies like Bob MacKinnon, mentioned in my previous post, I can't say that over the years, I've heard too many uses of "Jags" etc. "Caley" on the other hand is irritatingly commonplace and if that annoys people like myself who were relatively neutral/slightly Caley inclined, then I can fully appreciate how Jaggies from birth like Kingsmills feel.

I would imagine you are the only Caley minded man who gets annoyed by us loosely being referred to as Caley.

  11. I really like both. Its gonna cost me a fortune kittin out home and away for me and the family but well worth it. Glad were back to stripes and for some reason the away is the best yet for me.  :ictscarf:

There is!  Just click on "Home" in the Forum menu bar and all the different categories will be displayed.  You can then give your views on the referendum result! (That's not in the General Nonsense section by the way although some of the comments probably should be.)

Ahh cheers never noticed that until now

You really think I'm going round looking for things to be negative about?  Behave.

    Well said.

This site needs a major shakeup.

Too many guys who, when their opinion is disagreed with launch their dummy's out

Also needs a general nonsense type category as unless im missing it there is nowhere for different topics away from sport could be discussed like most forums. Theres even a whole segment of this board dedicated to nfl or something, surely as most on here are adults there can be a section made for non football/sport related chat.

From what I can see Riordan is still contracted to York. How do you propose we sign him? You don't seriously think we spend money on him?

Why don't we sign his former strike partner Garry O'Conner as well then if we're judging players ability on what they did a decade ago.

We'd be guaranteed a white xmas in Inverness if o'conner joined us :whoosh:

Dalgetty Bay, early season players are slower until they get some training and fitness under their belt, I know having played the game for years. Also, if you are quick up top in football terms you don't need to be a flyer to play up front as long as your thought processes are quicker than the opposition. Riordan still has 3 seasons left in him and we could afford him as long as we could control him which seems to be the problem. John Robertson who played for Notts Forest was washed up when Clough picked him up and what a player he turned out to be. Your mate may be correct but I would be surprised if he had lost that much pace as I think he is still only 31ish, that said he never did rely much on pace to score his goals since they were in the Matt l'etisier mould, another slow coach.

    Read thread again mate.

I never mentioned anything about how much people pay to get in.

I think possibly bishbashbosh  might have made mention of it though.
