  1. Think of it this way

they agree to a CU and ask the EU / NATO to see if we would get in or not straight away and to agree to be the best possible partners whatever way we choose and they would lose by a large margin!

We know Westminster doesn't like losing power and looks at Scotland leaving as some kind of embarrassing thing and they feel they would lose power on the world stage!

If they really wanted us to stay they would offer devo-max after a no vote RIGHT NOW but they are trying to get away with giving us as little power as possible....

    NEW POWERS!

(WILL BE DETAILED AT A LATER DATE, AFTER YOU HAVE VOTED! )

  2.

I have a vote and my age has nothing to do with it, you a threatening to move out of scotland if you don't get your way.... And you think anything you have said can been seen as "serious debating points"

One of your points was copy pasted from a billionaire fiction writer who has donated lots of money to better together!

    :rotflmao:

It has something to do with it. very much so.

I  can only debate with someone who has some form of life style I can understand, as a 71 years old pensioner, I feel it hard to relate to a teenager.  My life style is a business man who stands to lose £100 a week just on postage charges to England for my business. I just wondered who I was talking to.

If you are willing to debate on a sensible basi(s fine but wise cracks are well behind me. Maybe 50 tears ago I would cross swords with you but not now.

You should realise I am very very worried about this referendum and I can do without childish jibes - Thank you.

    firstly I am 24...

you are worried about your bank account and I am worried for my future but since the average age expectancy in scotland is 76 you only have your bank left so I am not surprised you are holding on to it for dear life (so to speak)

  4. May I suggest you move to a dictatorship like N.korea if it's a yes vote and you can't accept democracy?

Just want to point out you have also been very quite on this subject since you were proven wrong and I havent seen you post since you were calling anyone from the uk not supporting england at the world cup "biggots"

  5. “I don’t have a vote in this. It is for Scots to decide and that is where the debate should take place.” david cameron rejecting to debate the referendum on the 5th of january 2014

  6. As someone who didn't care about politics since I was able to vote 6 years ago, this referendum has sparked that political part of me and while I have been keeping an increasing eye on the referendum and posting here, it has only dawned on me now that I am too new to this and that I really need to think things through before I challenge peoples opinions.

I love that we live in a democracy and we respect everyone's views, but I feel I haven't done that so well. so I am going to stop debating with others on this and just watch the pro oddquine, who can express my view far better than me to see if I can learn anything!

  7. Ayeseetee, you appear to have completely ignored my previous post on this subject.  This cartoon is typical of lengths the YES campaign go to completely ignore the facts to produce misleading propaganda.

All three main parties in the UK Parliament support Britain being in Europe as did the British people in a referendum.  These three parties not only think Britain is better as part of the EU, they also think Scotland is better as part of the British Union.  That is an entirely consistent position.

However, the YES campaign (or at least the SNP) are fiercely opposed to Union with the UK but are keen to be part of the European Union.  That is an inconsistent position.

In addition, whilst there is some pressure in the UK for a referendum on Europe, this is coming from the Tory right wing and UKIP who cite the same reasons as the "YES" campaign do for leaving the UK.  But at least they are consistent as they couldn't care less if Scotland left the UK.

It is just the SNP who are inconsistent here.

Sorry that was genuinely posted as a joke, I have debated enough tonight and I was just trying to lighten the mood plus I don't make political statements with cartoons!

(We are all on edge just now and I don't like it )

  8. Fair enough it has only dawned on me that people might vote no for that reason!

I guess we will vote for what party we wanted after a yes and that might be a party that doesn't want into NATO or the EU.

lib dem / tory are no different judging the past couple of years

  9. I can tell you are right-wing but how far right is the question  :ponder:

will you vote no for scottish independence and yes to the uk leaving the eu?

The Tory Government has actually increased public spending on the NHS in England in line with the pledges they have given.

They'll be able to afford it if the Scottish MPs b*gger off North of the Border.

  10. I take it you mean the YES / NO referendum on 18th September when we will be asked to vote for an Independent Scotland without knowing whether or not an independent Scotland will be in the EU or not, and if it is, under what terms.  I will be voting "NO" because I think that when we vote on matters of this importance we should know what we are voting for.

No I mean the possible 2015 uk eu referendum the one that could see scotland forcefully exititng the eu with the rest of the uk?

  11.

Some amount of panic on here by the unionists, even the inner UKIP making an appearance.

Face it boys, the union is dead, come on over to the right side.

    for any unionists

the orange order march is on the 13th

a nigel farage visit on the 14th

    Keep your diaries clear!

What possible relevance would the odious orange order or Farrage have for supporters of the Union who have the best interests of Scotland at heart are trying to have a sensible debate on the issues that matter?  I do of course appreciate that these absurd references are merely a diversion to draw us away from the fact that the case for independence doesn't stack up on an economic basis.  But it is perhaps significant that you happen to know the dates of these visits?  Planning on joining one - or both?

I googled the dates because I know they will not help your cause at all....

remember you are the one defending the tories

(it is also what happens when you get everyone you can to join the vote no camp)

  12.

That figure is only going to rise and you are going to leave it for your children and their children to deal with personally I cannot bring my self to do that and I DON'T even have any kids yet, so don't tell me the only risk to their future is with a yes vote....

I see little point about complaining about the UK debt when despite basing their economic case on top end oil revenue projections the SNP still see the need to borrow massively in the first few years of independence when the UK debt is likely to be reducing.

So stay in the uk for more cuts YAY I wonder who will get them first if scotland votes no  :ponder:

  13.

Thinking politicans would never lie WOW.....

All politicians are economical with the truth and selective in their choice of words, but if you want an example of an outright lying politician look no further than Salmond.

"We have obtained legal advice which confirms that we won't have to reapply to get into the EU"

    "OK, can we see it?"

"No, I'm not allowed to disclose this legal advice, but it is there, honest."

"Well I'm afraid we'll take you to court to force you to reveal it"

[salmond spends tens of thousands of pounds of our money trying to prevent the truth coming out]

Outcome:  there was no advice at all, it was a complete and sustained lie to make independence seem less problematic than it actually is. If Scotland had a critical press, it may well have resulted in his resignation.

On the other hand better together have said

We will not get in the eu but all david camereon has to do is ask but: "We are clear that we are not pre-negotiating the terms of separation from the UK ahead of the referendum.
