We held them to a draw after going two up last season. Why settle for less? Go hard or go home.- 141 replies

No doubt, you always have to play players in form. I think Watkins' performance over the past few games merits a starting place again next week.- 141 replies

Matchday Thread Motherwell -v- Inverness CT
TheCommissioner replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
At 19, Ryan Christie is a player with huge potential. Danny Williams, on the other hand, is nearly 27. In the short career that is football, I'd say that he's now too 'old' to be described in those terms. There are plenty of late bloomers in football, Didier Drogba being one.- 141 replies

I just spotted the stats on BBC, look rather impressive if wasteful in regards to the 10 shots / 2 on target. At least Motherwell look like they are being entirely restricted.- 141 replies

Great video. This better raise his value! Perhaps we should stop saying ''he scores when he wants'' and change to ''he scores when he can'' though.

Those ******** for having political opinions!

Is it possible that we may have found our equivalent of Paul Scholes in Ryan Christie? The kid has amazing vision. I look forward to watching him progress through this season.
-
Sure. Let's see what the second half brings!
-
Win: The team is doing really well! Draw: We should of won that one. Lose: HUGHES' STYLE OF PLAY DOESN'T SUIT OUR TEAM! :)

I find he tires himself out too easy. I would not be surprised if it's the plan to take him on at around the 60th minute.

What position would be acceptable this season
TheCommissioner replied to gordieict's topic in Caley Thistle
Realistically: Top 6. Optimistically: European qualification. Our team really has potential. Sure there are some areas we could focus more training on, like creating interesting moves that throw the opposition of and creates a chance. We need to focus a lot on counter attacks, despite being able to hold our shape (from what I saw in the last handful of games of the previous season) and being able to finish a chance. We need competition for BIlly; get a loanee in and play them in the first three matches or so. -
To be honest, if he was to go I could see us getting a pretty good loanee. Given that we send our players down the Scottish leagues, it's likely that English Championship and Premier League clubs will look to loan their young talent to an SPL team. We've seen this happen. I don't know, sometimes a young loanee striker wanting to prove their metal will fair better than a comfortable Billy Mckay with no competition. Really we could do with keeping him and getting a loanee.

I did not know this was a thing, but I'm going to win.

This sentence really struck a chord. A bit more of a community feeling between the fans would really help the atmosphere I'm sure of it.

I entirely consider our current squad top 6 material. Look at the talent and ability we have signed up long(ish) term now! Shinnie is in crazy form and if Doran can lay off the pies he is just deadly. I have faith in Yogi and Russell at this point. Given a good break and an even better pre-season, I suspect to get off to a flying start again.

It's time we go back to basics. How does a new club get support? Free tickets and plentiful deals throughout the season. The biggest issue is, the ICT are freaking shocking at advertising, bar a banner on the roundabout and a facebook/twitter update. I'd like to see ads on MFR, local news papers and hand outs in school for kids to take home to the parents. What about a match day package? Your ticket, a beverage and a pie for X amount. Are we even able to control ticket prices? I'd see the club take a loss in a season with more fans down at the park. We have 3.5k loyal fans turning up, let's get some of those on the fence over too!

Couple more of these games and everyone will be begging Hughes not to go back to Hibs after Terry gets sacked.- 146 replies

I don't believe we need many new players, but we certainly need a few. The squad is growing tired and mistakes are being made, partly due to the influx of games. The squad isn't big enough to handle a league cup final, a Scottish Cup quarter final, game cancellations and be pushed to try enter Europe. It's been a difficult season in truth. The team has shown how much they have improved to handle with that pressure as best they can. We need a player to both add, and take away pressure from Billy. To make him work for his place (to improve him) and to let him rest. With the current defensive problems, I would be tempted to push Shinnie up the field into midfield and have both Tremarco and Raven on. This means we essentially have both a midfielder and an additional defender. . The style of play Yogi is trying to play has to be favoured from the previous style. Sure it worked for us, but teams had sussed us out by now. It's time for change, and I do feel Yogi and Lapaty have an idea of where to take the team. Sometimes you just have to take one step forward and two steps back to really improve. Give them this summer to iron out any bugs, and I'm sure the next season will kick off just fine.
