And where would the money come from to sign 8 or 9 players of the quality that could be leaving??
Even signing players out of contract,we would still need funds for wages, signing on fees etc
The players leaving will free up money for wages. Not all of them will be leaving on a Bosman, so that will generate some cash also.

It's only because I don't want to have to listen to the **** 'commentating' on Radio Scotland
You'd rather listen to the **** after-match interview :symbol_question: :015: :015:
I've usually switched off by then!

It has to be Brian Irvine
No offence but

Would we want them ?
Prolly not. Can't think that Butcher's donr too much in management, and Pressley's completely unproven.
-
I felt that Robbo had just started to work out how we should play in the SPL when he left. I don't think the results would have been too different had Robbo stayed and managed the club instead of Brewster. Would be an interesting option.
Can't see Butcher and Pressley leaving Scotland to come up here. Could we afford them?
-
I know people have said the same with Brew but I just don't see the same connection with Dundee Utd. He played for quite a few clubs, so would suspect his allegiance would be tainted.
Brewster is/was a Dundee Utd fan. That's what the lure was when they came calling.

"Mr Brewster just knew the press were going to crucify him after this latest loss."

He said, Hi Laura, how are you and by the way do you think I look fat in this.
:rotflmao:
And you said:
"You're too sexy for your shirt"

As I have said in this thread it reminds me of the "glorious" return of Keegan at Newcastle.
And I would love it, just love it, if he scored the winning goal against the sheep in the after split game.

We must be the most retrogressive (word of the day anyone?) team in UK football
Nothing wrong with retrogression, if it works. The poroof of the pudding, however....

The summer has become a vital time for us.
We need to strengthen the defence, add flair and width to the midfield and find some goals upfront.
This is probably the first major overhaul the team has required in terms of the number of personnel required, and the consequences of getting it wrong don't bear thinking about.
Agreed. It's a huge task indeed and something we simply haven't really dealt with over the course of last summer and into this season.
You could perhaps argue that you can see what has happened when cetain players weren't replaced effectively. We now find ourselves battling to finish 10th instead of going for this magical "Top 6" spot. Get it wrong next season and we WILL be back in the SFL.
Undoubtedly, the cause has been not dealing with issues as they arose. Not replacing Dods was criminal - we had 8 months notice that he was going.
If the problem isn't being addressed as we speak, it may already be too late.
The only other ray of hope is that Hamilton's record in the top division is very poor, but we shouldn't have to rely on other teams being cr@p to save our bacon.

Am I alone in finding this whole situation completely bizarre? :017:
not really. The cynical part of me says this has been done to appease the baying masses.
But wouldn't sorting out Wyness's contract be a better move on that front? All we're doing here is giving some bloke a trial, which may lead to nothing.
-
As they say, desperate times need desperate measures.
If Juanjo can provide some width and creativity to our midfield, the he has to be worth a punt.

NEVER BEEN A FAN OF PROCTOR I DON'T THINK HE'S IN THE SAME CLASS AS SOME OF OUR OTHER DEFENDERS
Have you ever seen Phil McGuire?
Well, Proctor's not in the same class as McGuire (thank goodness!)
-
Yes. There seems to be lots of supposition and inference around this matter, with very little concrete facts.
A little fact may go a long way here.

Your never seen around Dingwall until things are going bad in Inverness
Things are never so bad in Inverness that you need to go to Dingwall!
