To be fair to Renegade here, I think it's a bit daft to sing about County when we're not playing them. Kilmarnocks "Hello, Hello" rendition is all about their hatred of Ayr United, they sang it when they played us in the cup and it just made them look stupid IMHO.
Football chants are a mixture of support for you team, disparaging your traditional rival(s), and slagging off the day's opposition. 90 minutes of any one of those can get a bit tedious to be honest!
As a new club, the role of 'traditional rival' is probably up for grabs. C*unty qualify through geography, but we haven't really played them that often in our time in the league. By dint of the fact that we've often found ourselves fighting for the same thing, I'd be more inclined to make Livi & Falkirk our traditional rivals.

The only issue I have with Dougie is his first touch - it's often a bit heavy.
I had the luxury of seeing him in the flesh V killie and on Alba V Utd, and particularly against Utd, if he'd had a better first touch he could have won the game single-handedly.
Having said that, he works his socks off, and iff he can re-produce that free-kick v Hearts....
-
Can we clone him with Bannerman and create a dynamic left footed goalscorer with great skill too?
The only part of that description I match is the "left footed" bit.
Away an rattle yer beads....

As a recruitment consultant, I would expect hom to know his way round a contract of employment - a skill we seemed to be lacking (see current court case for details)!
He should also be well versed in PR - another area where the club leaves much to be desired
-
so scored on 3 and a dodgy one ruled an og in one game
Now that should remove all doubt! I haven't met a striker yet who doesn't think he should be credited with a goal if he's even in the same half of the pitch as the ball!

Hi Robbo
Stirred a few memories with mentions of all these great players there...
Can you mind Neil Berry? I think he ran the players' social club at Tynecastle during the early nineties. He left Hearts for Falkirk then seemed to disappear.
Do you know where he is now and what he's doing?
hi johnboy
yes big'chuck' is alive and well i think he was doing some electrical work for a while but if memory serves me right is working the black cab taxis in edinburgh he was a strong player really fit and an unsung hero amongs the hearts team really appreciated by the players for the unseen work of breaking up play and starting attacks(duncan mcbain) and popped up with the occassional goal to great lad and vary friendly with wayne foster who is a postman in edinburgh
Hi Robbo
On a similar note, do you know where Zico is now? I bumped into him at a petrol station in Bradford when he was there with Jim Jefferies, and he was good enough to stop and chat for a few minutes.

This was the best game I've seen Imrie have, he gave the utd defence a torrid time and they weren't at all comfortable with his direct running and constant harrying. Really got up their noses.
Pity he made some wrong pass or run decisions when we were hitting on the break.
If his first touch wasn't quite so heavy he could have had a boatload yesterday.

Wilkie's goal looks about a yard offside
The ball came to him from Mihadjuks. Looks like he might have kicked it out of Esson's hands, though. On another day, the ref might not have given it.

Just heard TB's interview. He seems to agree it was a deserved red, and Russell probably would have said something to him if it wasn't.
At first look it seemed fair enough, but on the replay Russel clearly gets a decent nick on the ball before he trips the man. I hope TB has a good look at the video.
He may well have got a touch on the ball but, from where I was sitting and I knew what would happen, Russel was intent on stopping the opportunity. He knew what would happen but he went ahead. He played for the team regardless of outcome. Good on you Russelldinho
Oh yes. It looked a stick on red card on the telly at normal speed.
I just think that we should try and use the system to our advantage if possible.

there was a mention of offside on the radio?
Nah, it was Mihadjuks (getting brave, trying to spell it now!) who headed it back.
Although, if it had been ice-hockey, Wilkie would have been pinged for goalie interference!
-
Just seen the red card on Alba.
Russell played the feckin ball!
If it's clear he played the ball maybe the club can appeal it, no?
I hope so. The touch he got on the ball was far more that the over-turned penalty at Tynecastle last weekend, and he played the ball before the man.

thoughts folks
Linwood, whaurs yer troosers?

Watching BBC Alba and still can't believe Dougie's howler just before half-time.
Yup. we could have killed it there and then.
Too good to go down !I'd prefer good enough to stay up!

What is going on here?
Shouldn't we be getting behind our team?
Right behind the team - Right behind Butcher - but come on - a change is needed.
My comment was made on the 'punt Duncan' thread. Ain't seen the incident yet, but sounds like he took one for the team. He's solid if not spectacular, and you probably notive when he isn't there more than when he is.
We're only three games in to Butcher's spell. From what I saw of the first two games, why would he change the team? After all he (or in the case of this week Malpas) sees the players day-to-day and knows who's up for it.
Wouldn't most of us taken 2 points and a place in the QF before these three games?

How the f*** can my excuse be lame Rig!!!!!
Don't you think that work is more important than attending a football match or are you trying to be smart mate?!!!!!!!!!!
He's doing neither. He was being sarcastic, but it wasn't aimed at you. It is a reference to something DC posted last weekend.

i was just to small for England
I can remember speaking to a rabid Newcastle fan (i.e. he was very keen - he wasn't literally rabid!) after you'd returned to Hearts, and he reckoned you'd done OK at the toon. Didn't they play you in midfield for a bit?
great experience but yes played 4 games up front then wide left for abot half dozen games but just did not work out
I'm gonna stop now before this turns into 'Jambos Re-united'!
