Encouraging signs for the future. 

Looking on the bright side, we have an excellent record when on TV on Friday evenings in the league. Hopefully that continues tomorrow and it kick starts us and our play off hopes.

On the downside, it is hard to see where goals and a win will come from.

I see this as possibly our last chance to arrest the slump in time to challenge realistically at the top.

Can we do it? I hope so but I will be watching in hope rather than expectation.

It will be a small crowd, but I hope our travelling fans are noisy and get something to celebrate and three points for the journey north. 

Kieran Chalmers has moved from Strathspey to Clach. 

Sorry to dampen the nostalgia, but some rose tinted glasses: that was one of the few bright spots in our relegation season.

In so many ways, it was the start of the journey to where we are now and the issues we are debating on other threads right now. 

Another for Dale Gillespie for Brora in the Highland League Cup tonight. They travelled to Brechin and win 2-0 with only 10 outfield players and an emergency loan goalkeeper.

Some interesting comments from Brora fans on FitbaNorth who seemed pleased Meekings was not in their team, saying they are effectively a player short when he does play. It doesn’t sound a happy ship.

Now we’d all welcome a statement from the CEO about the situation with the club as a whole and the first team performance in particular. 

Partick play Morton tomorrow evening, so it’s likely we will drop to fourth.

If we lose to Hamilton on Friday they will only be 6 points behind us, so we could soon find ourselves in the bottom half of the table if our poor form continues. 

I’d be surprised if there is a performance clause and, even if there is, it would probably only be measured at the end of the season, so could not be enforced now (and he could point to us being in a play off place anyway).

Six clubs in the Championship have changed their Manager this season, and they probably had similar contractual terms, so it comes down to the appetite of the Board.

I’ve felt recently that the Board is currently happy with us being a mid table Championship club and they don’t have the ambition for us to go up, possibly as we can’t afford the required investment in players to make us competitive in the top flight.

I don’t see anything changing in the short term.

(But then the Board would probably not bother telling us anyway!).

Watching the “highlights”, Carson was lucky not to get a straight red rather than a second yellow for his challenge.

Credit Cammy MacKay for his saves and there was nothing he could do about the goals.

Like others, I’m finding our current performances soul destroying.

Any of the statisticians on here know when we last went 9 league games without a win? Did it happen in our relegation seasons?

Jamie McCart scored the winner for St Johnstone today.

Brad Mckay was sent off for Falkirk.

Dale Gillespie scored for Brora. 

I’m not one for calling for Managers’ heads, but if we are looking for a new Manager at some point in the near future, Tokely supported by Tremarco is worth considering. Whether we keep any of the current back room staff should be the Manager’s decision. 

Tokely is already with us as a youth coach.
