We need a striker not a defender.

We needed a direct replacement for Calder, whether McHatties that or not remains to be seen but its only till end of season anyway. Not a bad move, just gives us more options at the back and we've not paid out any more having severed ties with Calder

  2. I see that Dundee have released Grant Nelson who trialled with us at start of season and I seem to remember looked pretty good, Robbo himself sounded pleased with him but it went nowhere after that

Yesterday's game proved we need to bin White and Austin who's out of contract anyway get rid of Beith whos never gonna play and get a half decent striker in even on loan without a goal scorer we'll struggle to stay in the top 4 another season or 2 in the championship gonna be the death of the club!

Totally agree Alan, White is useless unless it's handed to him on a plate and Austin is as much use now as tits on fish. I like Oakley but he's not quick or responsive enough, we need a shankland style player and these guys are not 1 in a million it's just a case of getting the right fit and instead of offering a pittance wage and hope to retain the other so called strikers, get rid of Austin and Beith and chalmers in my opinion and put the bulk of the money into getting a really hungry striker that will make all the difference. We're a really good team from the back 4 to the front bar one, we're missing that sharpness up front, give us that and we could still be a top 4 contender at worst. Serious decisions at board level to be made in Jan, give robbo decent funds to put the missing piece of the jigsaw in place or simply accept another year on the cship, it's as simple and obvious as that

  4. I've not felt that bummed out after a game for a long long time. I felt the first half was very level and either team looked like taking the lead at any time, and was expecting more of the same in the second, but whatever Robbo said to the boys, they were right up for it and as much as county had good possession they couldn't do anything with it and we looked by far the team that were next to score, as always though it was only going to come from a deflection or a bundle over the line because as much as polworth and Walsh were running the midfield, the crosses into the box were never accurate enough and the resulting touches were never enough to trouble Fox, who once again was on top form. As the game wore on I could only see one winner, and the very worst another draw.... However something was starting to tell me that as so often this season we would be outdone by a last minute goal, but when it actually came it still felt like I'd been punched in the chest. Utterly gut wrenching and cruel. They never deserved that, they barely deserved a draw but there you go. As many have said the "positives are to take that performance and desire into the next games and we should be OK"... But sadly we predictably won't and we will revert to slowly tapping the ball about with as much pace as a sausage dog with no legs. That game needed someone like Oakley, or Austin like he was last season. Can't understand why he has dropped down the pecking order so dramatically. White is not a natural goalscorer and simply can't win a ball and turn or lay off to a teammate and gets smothered easily. We need reinforcements immediately if we are to go on any kind of season saving run, but the big problem is with our budget and lure will we simply end up with another "striker" who simply dosent know how to score.

I hope you get them, a huge game for us today we need the 3 points!

It's imperative we start a run of wins now before it's too late, if it's not already. We're very fortunate as it stands that we're not already out of the running for top 4, but lose today and we really lose our grip on that too especially if QOS and Morton win there games

  6. I cannot wait until the season ends so I can start to work out how to spend my £300 that I won't be wasting on a useless shower of clowns that have no interest in football and couldn't care less about winning. Time to focus on other non stressful activities. Time to give up

  7. Beith out? Lol.... Let's just accept Beith is out permanently, we're never going to see him contribute anything. As far as Austin, he's made of glass and I think we need to offload him ASAP. No wonder Falkirk got rid of him. No great benefit when when he is fit, but gets a knock walking to the bus stop

The club were 1000% correct not to say anything to this point. Its a legal and personnel matter concerning one of their employees. Even now they are limited in what they can and should say and I would not expect anything said until the sentencing date. There is no evidence to say when they became aware of things but certainly before this week I would guess !

Its my opinion - for what its worth - the player has to be suspended by the club until the sentencing date and any employment repercussions are then put in place.

Totally agree with that, it has to be dealt with legally and above board. Sad thing is just as we start to see Calder as an integral part of the current side, we now need to face up to the realisation that, deservedly he may not be a part of it for much longer ?

At last a performance  to be proud of. Its another  draw but played with great  spirit and determination thats all we can ask for. It time to kick on.

Problem is, I thought exactly that after the last county game... Yet the following games were.... Well go without saying really ?

  10. Very proud to be a caley supporter, gave everything possible today. Showed county that we are their most difficult opponents yet, we don't give up easily and that's what I love about my team, we are one of the most stubborn resolute, hard to break down teams in the league and least we deserved was the draw, but in all honesty our team showed enough quality and fight to win that comfortably and we should all be very proud of all the boys tonight

Think Polworths pass was intended for Walsh, ball went slightly behind him, luckily Calder had continued to outpace the fullback and smacked it past the keeper,  good goal.

I thought that too, if you watch it carefully, it's actually a terribly placed pass that looks to have been aimed at Walsh but in typical polworth fashion was too far to the left of target. Seems like an eternity before Calder appears, indicating he was never anticipating it. Great vision by Calder to make the run though, something white never does, using his initiative
