You make more money in the transfer market if you can tie players into longer term contracts. But you can only tie them into longer contracts if you can offer them a decent wage over the period. We simply can't do that. I think we should all be well aware now of the problems caused by having players on long term, contracts where the wages being paid are no longer viable when the club's income drops drastically.
Exactly, with your last point the situation is exacerbated when the players on such long contracts with good wages, are in fact overpaid diddys that we can't move on when we need to!

I reckon something much closer to £10k would have been enough.
10k offer and he'd still be here. The way county are panicking about their leaky defence i'd say 40-50k would be rasonable...more if we played hard to get.

It was no secret that 'the snake ' was leaving, only a question of when so it obviously was a replacement, unless JR was planning having 3 or 4 centre backs on rotation.

75k...commonly referred to as 'a Draper'.

Being a relatively well supported club will only get you so far without being well funded . Good luck to them trying to live in AFC's shadow.
Whether they beat us to McAllister signature or not is another matter - is a 32 year old 2nd division striker what we need when we already got a 29 year old lined up?

Three games off in championship, with a further inspection for United v Partick at 2pm.
Doesn't seem so outrageous calling off yesterday does it now...
Much ado about nothing.

Yup why let them go for free when you could get some cash in.
Depends how much cash, and what this may cost us if/when it comes to the playoffs.
Short term gain for another year on this division?

This continuous transfer movement north over the bridge is a deeply worrying trend and in my eyes an absolute outrage.
Cant believe how many home fans see this acceptable behaviour from the so called guardians of this club.Maybe it’s time for a name change ICT to ICR would be appropriate as we have basically become Inverness County Reserves.
I don’t even think Donaldson will be that great acquisition for County but he’s far better than the likes of Lewis Toshney who is a proven county reject.
Never have I been more disillusioned
Dougal
You don't get tired of spouting this stuff do you??
The more disillusioned you get the more you seem to post...only happy when it rains.

Pitch was fine, one of the best before the undersoil heating was put in.
Location wasn't an issue then.

Is Curry not away in January??
Not sure if his loan was worth it as he hardly played.

On Saturdays performance I don't think any of our team would get a shift on Bobby Linn's bin route, never mind the Arbroath team sheet!!

Storey continues to run around like a headless chicken, magic hat?? Magic boots would be better, or at least one fcuking magic shoe at least.

On current projections , those waiting to see what division we play in before signing wont be signing...and a good few of the rest will not be staying without pay cuts - so it wont be jettisoning of the squad , simply natural wastage.
Hopefully we have a few hardened kids to take back from the fort next summer.

Think the aquifer is usually seated in the home dugout.

Looks like they skimped on the drainage for the north east corner, its in an awful state - noticed it was looking bare & boggy last week and it hasn't improved since. Was hoping the ref would abandon the game due to ball not rolling or bouncing in that area...
-
No complaints about that result, deservedly beaten.
-
Just what a large percentage of our remaining support don't care about and have no recollection of - pre merger kits.
Sounds like backward thinking to me.
Room 101 for that then.
Maybe try selling hot cakes for a tidy profit.

Would it be worth making a move for him if Jordan White leaves?
In January, a winger unproven at a host of clubs - no.
In the unlikely event of any activity the only thing we need is a proven goalscorer, a predator who can convert our chances and take us into, and through the playoffs.
Failing that it will be a rebuild on a much reduced budget next year.
