New Striker(s)

So the feeling from the latest threads is that if we get a new striker in then we will have a better chance of staying up.

If so we need somebody with experience and the ability to still get goals on a regular basis. The problem as I see it is that to get an experienced striker in that we can afford it will probably mean somebody 30+ or from the SFL or another east european import. A loan deal will probably not get us the type of player we need.

In addition one may not be enough and we may need two so who do we think Brewster should be looking at getting in as there doesn't seem to be many obvious candidates out there?

Wyness, Elliot, Clarke, Bayne, Kirk, Weatherson, Grady, Dobbie ????

Hello guys. Looks like you don't know it yet... Latvian striker Andrejs Butriks from FK Ventspils is on trial by you now :rotflmao: Not Rimkus, who is scoring again and again in a pre-season tournament in Russia (4 goals in 2 games).

Not good enough for blackpool then?

Butriks was on trial in Blackpool last summer, scored a goal in a friendly, but head coach S.Grayson (then) said, that Butriks isn't good enough for them... And now he is on trial by you, last week he was on trial somewhere (rumours, that in Birmingham City), but didn't stay there...

I got that from Wiki, should have known. It also shows that he's been on the bench more than getting a start but still in the national team. What can you tell us about him?

Hmm... I haven't seen him a lot. Last season was not very good for him, he was injured long time. He is not very quickly player, but he has a good technique and he "feels the goal" (don't know, how it is in English, but he manage to score not very nice, but important goals). Yeah, Latvian international, but he has played only some matches and then on substitute. Really difficult to say, is he good enough for you or not... If you have problems with strikers, maybe he'll help.

btw maybe someone knows, how long he'll be on trial by you?
