Know nothing about the match but Jimmy played for Partick for fifteen years before coming to Caledonian for three seasons in 1960. He then retired from playing and returned to Partick as groundsman. (All this courtesy of Wiki)

I presume he was given his testimonial when he retired from football and that the match was between the two clubs he had spent his professional career with. Jimmy was also capped eight times for the national squad.
