Talks are at an advanced stage to keep extend Deans loan stay until summer next year.

CALEY Thistle are at an advanced stage regarding talks to extend the deal of on loan goalkeeper Dean Brill until the end of the season.

Brill has featured in all six of Caley Thistle’s Scottish Premiership games so far this campaign, conceding just three goals and keeping four clean sheets.

The custodian only initially signed with Inverness until January on a short-term deal from parent club Luton Town in July to provide competition to first choice goalkeeper Ryan Esson.

Great news and given how well he has done i'm not surprised we are looking to extend the deal. He has been a commanding and reassuring presence at the back and has clearly given our back 4 a strong platform to build from.

Think the previous story was about extending his loan beyond Christmas .... this seems to be about a permanent deal which is far better IMHO. No disrespect to Ryan Esson, who is a fine keeper, but that's a fair chunk of each of the last two seasons now where he has either been injured or kept out of the side by his 'understudy' ..... are his days numbered?

If Terry goes suspect Brill will be off to HIBS who need a decent keeper -doubt we will see any signings now until Sir Terry makes up his mind!

@ICTFC have agreed a 2-year deal with Dean Brill - although that could now be thrown into doubt if Terry Butcher goes to @HibernianFCClub

Good news if true and I dont see why it would be thrown in doubt. Any deal will be between Brill and ICT and I would imagine between ICT and Luton as they still have him contracted to end of season.

Indeed, the general feel around here is that everyone seems to think that the players only stay for the manager. What happened to club pride? To playing at a highly achieving club? Terry Butcher has done very well, and has brought a lot to the club, but in the end of the day, all deals are made between ICT and what ever club the deal is being made with at the time. Not between two managers.

That is great news - I also read a report that Kenny Cameron was warning Butcher about coming calling for players in January- lets hope that the Cup semi -final will keep them all in place
