Match against St Mirren Could Be Relegation Decider

Far from being an unimportant end of season affair, Saturday's match against St Mirren could have quite a bearing on the fortunes of either club.

We will need to avoid defeat to ensure that we don't swap league positions with the Buddies and, while that might not have huge significance for this season, it may have a great impact on next.

The league place at stake is worth ?70,000 which would pay the salary of a decent player next season. With both teams having a similar limited budget for players and with each showing every sign of battling against relegation next year whoever wins and can thus afford that extra player might just have the edge come next May.

On that basis our last game might just be one of the most important of the season.
