Classy young defender Graeme Shinnie has put pen to paper on a new deal with Caley Jags.
Left back Graeme Shinnie, who has been impressive this season, has today (Friday) signed a new contract with Caley Thistle.
Shinnie, who was 19 in August, has given Terry Butcher an early Christmas present by penning a two and a half year deal only a week after fellow youngster Nick Ross did likewise.
A product of the club's youth development system, Graeme made his first team debut last season but has really made his mark this term after seizing his chance when Kenny Gillet was injured. Shinnie has played in the club's last 11 league games.
Manager Butcher said:"It's satisfying to ensure that Graeme stays at this club till the end of season 2012-13 and I'm sure there's plenty more development to come from the lad, who has shown composure beyond his years since coming in to the first team.
"I'm pleased to see another local teenager earning a professional contract. It's good for the club and it's a real incentive to others coming through our youth setup. There's plenty of talent there but they have to be ready to grasp their opportunity when it comes in the way that Nick and Graeme have done."
