    Official Travel Club

      Teaser Paragraph:

trust_pr.jpgOFFICIAL ICT TRAVEL CLUB TAKES TO THE ROAD

Whilst the fans of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC have been enjoying their summer break, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and the Supporters Trust have remained busy with preparations for the season ahead.  Part of those preparations has been the formation of the Official ICT Travel Club.

Don Johnstone of the Supporters Trust commented that: “Requests coming in to the Supporters Trust Board for organised travel to away games have been increasing over the past couple of seasons.  We have done some buses to cup games and other one offs and they have always proved popular.  As such we feel the time is now right for us to be offering a regular service for the fans and we are committed to organising buses for all away fixtures during the forthcoming season.  We’ve had a really good couple of seasons with winning Div 1 to come straight back up to the SPL and then finishing in a strong 7th place last season.  We want to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to enjoy the football, both home and away.”

Kenny Cameron of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC commented that: “Terry [butcher] and the board are delighted with this season and would love to encourage a bigger attendance both at home and away, and what better way to encourage away fans than to launch an Official Travel Club in association with the Supporters Trust.”

Ian West of the ICT Social Club commented:  “It’s not always possible for us to get enough interest to justify our own bus to away games.  However, by pulling resources with the Football Club and Supporters Trust we now have a service that can benefit everyone.”

The ICT Supporters Trust is a member of Supporters Direct, the national umbrella organisation for Supporters Trusts.  One of the main principles of a Supporters Trust is that it exists to serve everyone within the Football Community that it occupies and in keeping with that it is not compulsory for fans to be a member in order to travel.  We will be asking that anyone wishing to use the service registers their details, but that registration will be free.  Anyone who does wish to join the Supporters Trust will be welcomed and their support will be recognised by way of an entitlement to discounted travel.

The Supporters Trust organise many events throughout the year in order to raise funds which allow them to offer financial support and equipment to a variety of football related good causes.  They have been firm supporters of the Inverness Street Leagues for a number of years and have assisted the club at all levels on a number of different projects as well as working closely with them on a variety of fan related matters which include the recent introduction of a new official fans “singing section” in the North Stand.

None of this would be possible without our members, and the more members we have the more we can do.  For more information on the Supporters Trust, together with details on how to join and/or register for the Travel Club visit our website at www.ictst.co.uk, e.mail us at info@ictsupporterstrust.co.uk, write to us at  Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust, PO Box 5736, Inverness, IV1 9DD or give us a call on 07769 697899.
