Clinical Inverness...
wiped the floor with Ayr through a stunning first-half goal burst.
Only Mark Roberts had a brief answer to Foran's early brace with further goals coming from Adam Rooney and Dougie Imrie before the Irishman completed the rout after the break.
Foran said: "I can play better and so can the team. There is definitely more to come. We believe we are one of the top teams in the league.
"It's my first league hat-trick and I've got the ball signed to take home. It was an important win and the boys have dedicated it to the gaffer."
Danni Sanchez played in Foran to slide the opener on 11 minutes before Roberts levelled with a tap-in after Ryan Esson's error four minutes later.
Then Inverness turned the screw with the excellent Sanchez setting up Rooney for a fine finish within 60 seconds.
With 21 minutes gone Craig Samson could only parry another effort from Sanchez and Imrie did the rest.
It was game over after just 25 minutes when Samson spilled David Proctor's shot allowing Foran to nod in for his second and his team's fourth.
Ayr boss Brian Reid made two half-time changes but his side's day got worse when a superb Ross Tokely cross gave Foran a back-post header to secure the match ball.
