  1. The recent post on the Caley v Leicester game got me thinking about what other games there have been over the years played against English opposition in Inverness and anybody's memories of them. Below is a list of Inverness team friendlies v English clubs in Inverness over the years that I could find: Highland League 1921/2 Caley / Thistle Select 6 Tottenham Hotspur 3 1932/3 Inverness Thistle 3 Newcastle United 5 1951/2 Inverness Select 3 Crystal Palace 1 1955/6 Inverness Select 0 Leicester City 2 1963/4 Caley 2 Carlisle United 4 1973/4 Inverness Thistle 2 Notts County 4 1976/7 Caley 1 Halifax Town 1 1977/8 Inverness Select 1 Newcastle United 1 1978/9 Clach 0 Middlesbrough 4 1982/3 Caley 0 Leicester City 4 1988/9 Caley 0 Shrewsbury Town 5 (Highland league games courtesy of Prorege post (P&B)) Scottish League 1994/5 ICT 0 Bolton Wanderers 2 2000/1 ICT 5 Mansfield Town 2 2004/5 ICT 1 QPR 1 2004/5 ICT 1 Hartlepool United 1 2005/6 ICT 1 Blackpool 0 2006/7 ICT 0 Sheffield United 3 2008/9 ICT 5 Liverpool 0 More info on the 1921 and 1932 games would be interesting (Spurs were FA Cup holders (managed by ex-Jags player Peter McWilliam) when they visited in 1921 and Newcastle were FA cup holders when they visited in 1932).

  5. I hope this poem brings some comfort. I give you this one thought to keep, I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone, I am with you still - in each new dawn
