East Fife Four Forfar Five Some 'headlines' are harder than others to forget, like SuperCaleygoBallistic.... It was only in his head, but it did eventually happen, sadly, after his death. The Scottish League Cup Group B tie between the sides went to penalties after a 1-1 draw. And the score in the shootout? East Fife 4 Forfar 5. Thanks to Eric Morecambe for that one. However, back to business. One of this seasons promoted sides, East Fife, come North on Saturday for a 3:00pm kick-off at the Caledonian SarensPSG Stadium. They have had a solid start to the season sitting in mid-table, and with Dick Campbell at the helm that's no surprise. It's fair to say he has had a tough paper round, but as a football manager he knows the game inside out, gaining seven promotions at five different clubs managing Brechin and Arbroath from Tier 4 up to Tier 2. They have a pretty potent strike force of Nathan Austin, Michael McKenna and Tommy Goss though. The clubs have only met 11 times with the Caley Jags winning 7, drawing twice and losing twice. The most recent fixture saw Inverness win 1-0 in November 2020. Played at an empty stadium during Covid. Inverness won the game but all credit to East Fife for making this a tough tie. It took a penalty save by Cammy Mackay in stoppage time to keep us ahead after Shane Sutherland had opened the scoring in the second half. We had Mackay to thank for a wonderful save in the first half as well and he was my MotM. The Fifers, formed in 1903, were the first to win the Scottish League Cup three times and the first of only two sides from the second tier of the Scottish league system to win the Scottish Cup. This makes them the most successful club in Fife in terms of major honours won Only six years after becoming members of the Scottish League, East Fife appeared in the 1927 Scottish Cup Final, which they lost 3–1 to Celtic at Hampden Park. The 1927 cup feat was surpassed just over a decade later when "The Fifers" won the 1937–38 Scottish Cup. The prestigious trophy was secured with a 4–2 win over Kilmarnock in the replayed final. The game was watched by a crowd of almost 92,000 spectators Here we can see the fans arriving in their wee fishing boats to dock at the Stadium Port. Club Song: The team's pre-game anthem is "Telstar" by The Tornados, named after the communications satellite launched in 1962. Picturesque Villages: The East Neuk is a popular tourist area with beautiful fishing villages, including St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther, and Crail. Andrew advised that they were exploring opportunities for this and checking the legalities surrounding it.

I’m missing tomorrow’s game due to a family birthday but I’ll have the BBC Sport app to hand to stay close to the action and the score. We’ve been much more eager to take shots on in the last two games and I hope that continues tomorrow and we keep our winning run going.
