I'd have to disagree with the 'common knowledge'. I don't think thats its just wants Brewster wanrts at all. He's has managerd to reduce the average age of the team since he came back and his signings of Imrie and Barrowman suggest we may see a more adventerous (sp.?) side next season. I think Brewster has had a fair bit of undeserved abuse (and a lot of deserved abuse - including lots from me) in terms of our performances. The Paterson/Robertson teams are ageing and its inevitable that it was to be broken up, Brewster has had this job and we have to give him unitl Christmas to sort it. I'm actually excited at the prospect of next season looking at the average age of our team (26 by the way) despite the doom and gloom around. PS. We scored 50 league goals last season where as our other SPL seasons have been 41, 42 and 51 so it looks like we are trying to attack.

Couldn't agree more with what you say. Not a single person can begrudge him his appearance either (apart from Florin Bratu maybe). He has worked tremendously hard to get where he has despite some posts to the contrary on here. He really couldn't have done much more last night. He was obviously being asked to play a specific role and that was hold it up so Nicolita, Mutu and Cocis could get running off him. The problem was tha Romania couldn't get the ball and any time they they did that wee girl Mutu tried to take on the world by himself. He is the most frustrating player I've watched in a long time and reminds me of a 10 year old in his school team. The head is down and teammates are ignored, when possession is then lost he stands about sulking. In all honesty I think Romania may have been better off without him last night as he seemed to be a hindrance more than a help. Marius certainly didn't look out of place and if only some of the Romanian crossing had been of an acceptable standard he may have got a better sniff of goal. I think it's been fantastic to have him here and here's to a great season in 2008/09.

Think Marius was a little unlucky not to get on this evening. Romania were forced into 2 changes through injury and they were hardly going to take on another striker with 2 mins left. Mutu had lost the plot a little after the penalty miss so thought Marius might get on but a midfielder got the nod. Oh well. Here's to a start on Tuesday.

Anyone able to make any transfers today? Every time I try it tells me an error has occured and to retry in 60 seconds. It also keeps coming up with players I don't even have or am even trying to transfer in on the confirm transfer page. Really annoying.
