  1. I am speaking about managers as opposed to players. I'm sure there are examples of it working out but more often than not it ends in tears (Keegan etc.) second time round.
  2. I'm not really convinced we should be going down the bring back [insert applicable name here] route. It's been proven time and time again that it's never the same second time round. Brewster coming back here has proved that more than anything. As much as I love Pele, CC and Robbo I don't feel that it would be the best option for the club to re-appoint anyone. I wouldn't be adverse to Rioch or Brown coming in. An experienced old head could be just what we need. Maybe even teamed with a young up and coming assistant to groom and take over the reigns (someone like Bazza). One of these two can provide exactly what we need - some tactical consistency and everyone knowing their position and job. The tactics and team tombola can be lobbed in the bin please.
  3. Brilliant Craig. We don't score enough so you sign 8 defenders and a midfielder in the January transfer window.
  4. Never thought I'd say it but thank god Rangers are winning.
  5. Nothing has changed despite the signings. Club record 7th league defeat in a row looking likely and our closest relegation rivals are getting further and further away.
  6. Just got a text from someone at the game. They say that if Barrowman doesn't get subbed he's going to be sent off. He got an early booking and has proceeded to then a make a few stupid fouls.
  7. Brilliant. Sounds like a huge confidence booster for the team. Robbo just said that Mihadjuks is looking good - could he be what we've been looking for? Zadi hooked at half time. What a waste of space.
  8. Its just got even cheaper to go down. Clicky Regardless of motives etc. (and this is not the topic to get into it) this is a great gesture by the board. Looks like they understand how important the game is and how much support we need for the team on the park. We all have our grievances against the board and Brew but the boys on the park still need our support for this one.
  9. I officially offer my services to manage the team for tomorrow after masterminding the following a few minutes ago. I used reasonably simple tactics: i.e. soak up the pressure, lots of pressing and hitting on the counter with pace. Starting line up: Fraser Tokely Duff Munro Hastings Cowie Black Vigurs Imrie Rooney Wood
  10. The first of a few I'm sure. Complete nonsense to let him go.
  11. Funnily enough I have first hand experience of his coaching abilities as he coached my uni team for a season while doing his badges. I imagine he can't be worse than what we have even though he talks a bit funny.
  12. Which is getting worse very very quickly. As it stands we're only 5 better off than Hamilton.
  13. Thats Smyths toy shop. Only just up the road from where I currently live.
  14. Oh dear lord this is awful. I think I'm going to switch off the radio, remove all sharp objects from the room and get wired into the beer in order to wipe the existence of Craig Brewster and David Proctor from my memory for the rest of the day!
  15. Perhaps a minutes applause may be more appropriate for him? I think that it would show our appreciation in a more fitting way for a man without whose influence and dedication we wouldn't have an ICT to support.
  16. Au contraire. Dalneigh were about years ago but folded in about. You must be playing for the AFC wimbledon version.... :thumb04:
  17. 2-0. Garry Brady. Maybe not writing on the wall but definately some doodling.
  18. I don't what is more appropriate: or :018: or :thumb04: It beggars belief...
  19. In reply to the original question - Yes I am very worried about the game on Saturday. Maybe more of a 'must not lose' than a 'must win' but either way I think its a fairly vital game in our season. 3 points would keep that cushion between us and the teams below us where as 0 points would put us even deeper in the *****. We need to pick up 7 - 10 points from our next 5 games (St Mirren A, Aberdeen H, Motherwell A, Rangers H Hamilton A) and put Partick out of the cup. Anything else and its a disaster.
  20. Absolute shocker of a decision. Clearly onside. Thought the penalty was very soft too. Imrie was just stronger than the Killie player.
  21. Good old Diego. Getting fairly fed up of Terry Butcher though. Every interview gets brought back to him and Mexico 86. It was only the QF and so how he can claim Maradona cost England the world cup is laughable. He needs to man up, concentrate on Scotland and shake the guys hand.
  22. Are Vigurs and Wood not out of contract too? I can't find the story on the official site but I thought they were only given 1 year deals. Every year we get caught out by this although maybe this is changing (Barrowman and Rooney are on 3 year deals??)
  23. I played for Drakies from 1994-1998 and then moved into the Inverness Youth League and played for Milton Athletic in 1999 and 2000. All played at Milton pitches apart from Finals which were Clach Park, TCS or if you were unlucky the bught. Managed to rack up a fair few medals too while I played. A fair few teams have chnaged recently although the two above are still going strong. Hill Rovers, Telford Street Rovers, Clach Rangers, CV Holm.....
  24. On one hand all our losses this season have been by 1 goal and with a few breaks we could have won/drawn all of them. The margins really aren't that big. On the other hand we've only won 5 at home since last December and only won 8 league games in total. It's not the type of form thats going to keep us up. This season we've played 6 home games - more than any other team and only won one. If a team is to stay up they must win their home games particularly against the teams around them. Bearing in mind we've now lost to St. Mirren, Hamilton and Motherwell at home it's looking a bit grim. I certainly wouldn't go pushing any panic buttons yet. We're only 6 points off 3rd and I believe this is going to be the tightest league campaign in years. From 3rd to 12th the teams could conceivably finish in any position. I would rather wait until the transfer window and see what activity takes place. In particular we need an experienced striker as I don't think the ones we have will have that nous and ability to stay calm if things get tense.
