Round Two - Black and Blue
I too hope Balck does stay as he is a brilliant player with temprament but then again how many good players have this bad side to them, it seems to go hand in hand with brilliance. He is a stand out and a very creative player and would worry if he was allowed to go. I realise every player has his price but struggle to think of who would fill his boots - not even sure anyone out there we could buy as a replacement and why should we anyway, better not to keep what we have and know!! Brewster has struggled in all games to change tactics properly, I can remember back to playing 'tic, we were 1 up with not long to go, we ended upplaying 3 centre forwards and lost 2 - 1. Says it all. We just seem to replace like with like and at times with no time to even have any effect

Hearts -V- ICT : matchday thread
Agreed , Hoped Duff wold keep his place and McGuire would drop down to bench. We seem to be losing really silly goals on a regular basis, even this season alone. For a team that plays long balls, we seem unable to handle them, would have thought defence would have had plenty practice, but maybe they are ok as I am not convinced we are any good up front with this type of abll as not great at winning these high balls. Needed a Dods in defence but if Duff given a chance - season long run, then jusdt meybe we have the solution Tokely for all he has done is still not good enough IMO - riads up park generally lead to nothing then he strolls back (unable to run back) and up against any fast/nippy winger he struggles. When we do play the ball on the ground we play really well. Rubbish result today, hoped for a point If only we had won the games we should have won, St Mirren and Accies at home, we need to win these, then away wins are bonus, not the other way round. Still not convinced of Brew's tactical awareness. Still hoping for a turn around in fortunes, ever hopeful Come all CALEY

ICT V St Mirren : Matchday Thread
Defence sold the jerseys again! Tokely as previous contributors have indicated was poor, no distribution, threw his arms about when his pass went astray as if it was others fault. He did one decent pass along the grass but that was it, and sold the jerseys big style leading up to second goal. Would prefer Munro and Duff as certral partnership Rooney was good have no idea why he was subbed. Just read Bewster thought Wood played really well (was given man of the match at the ground - why?). Did Wood have a shot on goal the whole game??? McBain was too quiet again, nees to dominate midfield as we have the others as constructive. Black played weel enough I have been advocating for Vigurs to get a run but he wasn't really in it today. We have now lost at home to both St Mirren and Accies, games we should be expecting to win. Not winning these negates in part some of the excellent away results

Duff&Vigurs for weekly starts?
I would like to see both get an extended run in the team. We keep talking about protecting "boys" but foreign teams do not 0 Messi is prime example. I realise how good, make that great, he is, but is still yound and has been thrown in at deep end in a league a lot higher standard than ours so it is possible to play youth! Fraser Tokely/Proctor Munro Duff Hastings Cowie Black Vigurs McBain/Duncan Rooney Barrowman If only playing 1 up then Rooney on own Will Brewster pull on the jersey this season? He could still do a turn, could still show Barrowman a thing or two in controlling a ball passed up front!

Duncan
Sorry I don't Think we can progress and would have had to if he had left had his holding gun to our head not worked! His ball distribution even towards the end of last season was not consistent enough and doesn't look to have improved in thefirst couple of games I have seen this season Sorry

have spoken to a colleague who is a county fan. He said he can be magnificent one minute then absolutely disasterous the next You just do not know what side of him will be on park at any time

jami jami giving away too many fouls as are caley in general. He will need to be careful as already booked

v Arbroath
youngsters are well capable of winning this though front two on now are his only starting option at present - maybe shows lack of depth of squad

15 now, but would have expected a better result than this so far. But I suppose at this stage a win will do. Dundee will vouch for that!! :018: :thumb04:

Getting bums on seats
Putting a stop on the small family section left in the main stand will only chase supporters away!!! Also a couple of suggestions would be to: Have a stall at retail park and shopping precinct selling match day tickets on Fridays and Saturday mornings prior to home matches. Family discounted tickets for match days too! Give away 50 / 100 tickets for local schools, rotating to differing schools for each match including say a couple of "teacher" tickets - giving advance notice to enable these to be organised and fully utilised, would add to noise too as kids in groups tend to be good at trying sing songs

Season tickets
Will there be room in the North Stand. Just got season ticket renewal letter along with other info basically stating we are only being offered our seats in Main stand, Family, at full price now! Looks like club is going back on what they promised when we returned from Pittodrie in that we were offered seats in Main stand at Family prices until "child" too old to qualify. To stay wher we are cost goes up £200 - thought there was no price increase!. Had same fight last year until this was conceded. There are lots of family members in the main stand family section, will they stay??
-
Season tickets
Are there any signs of any announcement of these for next season, prices and when available. Others have already started but yet again we appear to be falling behind. Also sugest that the club set up some sort of kiosk at retail park (Tesco's) in order to "promote season tickets" and also promote the tam and pending matches. Catch families shopping and just maybe increase our supporter numbers.

Who's to blame..
As in other post what other team would end up with 3 strikers on the park defending a lead against Celtic? Not even the likes of Barca would revert to that madness!! There was a player on the bench who could have played a holding role, CAff, admittedly nt played much first team footie recently but would have been a better option than Rory! Charlie has to learn by this, pick the team up for the next matches which are very important. Still cannot remember a Caley team with 3 strikers on the park chasing a game, Charlie has always replaced like for like!! Now that the dust has settled lets see what Charlie is really made of now and what moves he will make in the summer to replace the soon to be departed.
-
The formation as I interperated it
Sorry but the simplistic way I see it was: Started game with one striker and it worked with Barry in support! To end up with 3 strikers on the park for the last five minutes when trying to hold a 1 - 0 lead is shocking! We cannot get 3 strikers on the park in a game where we are chasing the game trying to get back in it!!

Hearts V ICT - matchday thread
Seriously missing Dargo and Wyness. Charlie should have been seeking out replacement or playing McSwegan from start with McAllister coming on later in game. Stats were looking good on this game up until goal, more shots etc and possession was greater in first half should have done better with it! OH S@#, Falkirk just scored! :019:
