Whilst I agree it is only a pre season friendly it is also good to start playing together as a unit again Think this still emphasises we struggle when Foran and Hayes not playing, esp Foran. Wasn't there so would be interested to hear how those who have made the trek down thought we actually played, as I think we lack someone up front who can hold up the ball consistently as we will generally play with 1 up and support coming from midfield

i would have duff back as think he will bring in experience needed for this season

think we do struggle a wee bit at free kicks, corners can be a bit hit and miss. need to improve these areas to capitalise on chances

I would be a little concerned about injury record Hopefully he can prove otherwise

A 2 year deal was the least they could do in my opinion. To offer him a 1 year deal would have left us exposed in January so the younger players and Esson (he is a keeper afterall) should be on 2 year contracts and after the january sales are over the club must sit down and get these contracts extended again,and not wait until the end of season. This is at least a compromise from where I would prefer to see those getting 3 year deals. The older players, I agree 1 year deals will do, and if still fit can then sign a new contract as unlikely to be offered a lucrative contract elsewhere. I am of course working on principal we are staying up and do hope the Board back Butcher to make progress again this season, and get us out of relegation battle as early as possible and thereby fighting for a top 6 place

Think we are missing a big strong centre forward who can hold up ball as that is currently one of Rooney's failings - maybe working on it though in close season. I know Foran is great at this, but again not an out and out striker, problem then becomes who do you leave out from midfield Pavels too would be great - he left but not because he wanted too! Left back cover reuired too, and hopefully Esson signs on Would like Caley (they appear to be doing it) to sign up players for longer than 1 year deal as this tends to give way to speculation in January about them moving on and its unsettling, at least this way we would get some money for them Anyone know of Tokely as decided to stay now we are back in premier league as I think he was offski if we lost out on promotion

Struggling with this one Not sure which way I am leaning to as have varied views. Could be possible addition to midfield but in SPL ?? Didn't play much laterly with us either, did he get a regular game with Dundee, not that it helps as we finished on top of them anyway! Drugs a possible issue, but was minor I think Added value to midfield, wold have thought we should be setting our sights higher but back to same old problem of location, but then again, another Richie has signed up ok

Having tried out the grub tonight for this first time in a while (went straight from work) was disappointed with macaroni pie both in terms of quality and price. Hardly any filling, looked totally unappealing Bovril was ok, but just ok, as on a very cold night could have done with being a bit hotter

A big yes to Duff would be good signing in my view

Whilst I agree with what has been said I am still disappointed with it Get the small things right and the bigger ones become easier! Keeping fans in loop is a main aspect of running a football club I would have thought I really do hope they get their act otgether and like others I am not having a go at the webssite manager, they can only work with the tools provided, whether the limited functionality of the site or more importantly the data to be published. I would expect to see 1. a daily update/appraisal of squad injuries etc 2. Managers update 3. Captains thoughts 4. News (and not just who won the latest draw 5. Look forward to upcoming match 6. Appraisal of opposition 7. Guest interviews Just a few thoughts but I am sure others could add many more suggestions Surely we can learn from other sites, e.g Partick have a match review for tomorrow and other details related to tomorrow

Like others on this thread and on other threads, the Caley website administrator yet again is no where to be seen in updating news. Why do we have to read things in press, surely club should have the quote from Butcher on site or is the site only updated from newspaper clips, cut and paste job, less work involved that having to write a piece! When are we going to move into the big boys world. Good news though and hope they can get him re-registered for Saturday, otherwise the directors yet again have to take the blame for this shambles. Should have been sorted out long ago, but would you sign a contract from Caley without reading it thro' and thro' and yet again. I thought he was a good player for us in the short time here.
