  1. I agree with Kingsmills! Further, we have to play Hamilton and the Midden 3 times each. Hamilton may be limited as was pointed out on another thread, but nobody's gone to their place yet and given them a doing. Limited players can still get fired up when it matters. Brew v Billy Reid in a one-off game to decide who takes the drop? I know who I'd back. Edit: Feck me, they're beating the tims. Mind you only 15 mins gone. Final score about 1-4 I would imagine...... Edit: 1-1, Nakamura pen and the Accies down to 10 men before half time. Oh well, make that 1-6 then.....
  2. A lot of fanciful thinking if you ask me. Hasn't Barry himself admitted that it's a struggle to last the pace? Even if you'd only played amateur football you would know how hard it is playing with a load of young lads who can run all day. I would carry on with Baz as a sub, but give him a bit longer than the 10 mins he usually gets. At a push I would start him with the promise that he can come off after an hour.
  3. No, like I say, I enjoy a decent dram as long as somebody else is buying it
  4. When our players get their tails up they've shown how they can spray the passes around and make chances. So it's a bit disappointing if the management team show their lack of faith in the players by playing 4-5-1 at home because they reckon we're inferior to the opposition.
  5. Some ugly feckers there rite enuff. Lucky you missed Murray and Urquhart though.
  6. It usually costs a large Glenlivet to use my photos Gorgeous.
  7. I was only in hospitality once, years ago in div 1. Have we got a Vetle Anderson suite yet?
  8. Same as Yngwie said, we always celebrated if he was on the teamsheet.
  9. The reason being that he scored a couple against them in a 6-3 loss. I'm sure it was Greig that signed him though. I think Wallace had just won the treble and retired.
  10. I don't mind Gus. Why's he a scumbag apart from the club he manages :thumb04: :018: Don't mind Yogi either. McGhee I rate very highly but he's out of our league unlike the two above.
  11. Aye Bannerman is always raving about getting the afternoon off school and what a great game it was. Actually I'm sure somebody posted this maybe a year back. I see what somebody meant the other day when they said the old Caley stand was much bigger.
  12. One or two pics from the game on my site courtesy of Billy Urquhart. Look for the page called 'Urquhart Files'. There was definitely a video of that game - I think Caley sold it. I've seen one goal from it on a bit of BBC video I've got kicking about somewhere.
  13. Ha! That's Jabba I believe. Put his money where his mouth was :thumb04:
  14. I've finally got around to fixing a load of broken links on the Caley Nostalgia Page. Also a lot of the movies are bigger now. They were first uploaded in the days when everybody had dial-up. The pages affected are 'Scottish Cup', 'More Cup' and 'Caley's Final Season'. Let me know if you find any links not working.
  15. Yeah good boisterous support but I thought the numbers were well down.
  16. Probably Jimmy Calder! Or Esson himself at Gayfield....
  17. I suppose you can count me in as a long term griper then, even if I never had a gripe last week. Firstly I missed the game so it would be unfair to complain, and secondly I was too depressed to bother, as it's all been said before. I hope I've given a bit of credit earlier on tonight. Today - well, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Even though we have a somewhat limited squad of players (and I don't mean size of pool) I would take that kind of fight (and passing the ball) every week even if we didn't win. For you Ralph to expect people like me to turn around and say everything is now rosy is complete bollocks. The last time I saw the team fired up and playing like that was on August 9th. I don't think winning at Falkirk was in the same class, and I missed the Killie game. So far that's two high points in my season. Brewster's had well over a year, second time around, so you'll forgive me if I look for a bit more consistency.
  18. Good point about Esson and the fast breaks.
  19. Spot on. I went along hoping that would happen today. However if Hibs had scored first I was ready to suffer another drubbing. Have to report we played the ball on the deck :thumb04: Also at 2-0 up you do see the confidence spread right through the side. With 5 mins to go we were showboating up near the corner of the pitch and there was nothing Hibs could do about it. I'll swear even Garry Wood's touch improved after we went 2 up
  20. Great second goal. Chris, Imrie fed Cowie and he squared it to Black.
  21. Likewise. Just back from the game and delighted not to spend Monday avoiding Hibbys. Credit to everybody today, a bit like the Aberdeen match. The team and the manager had a lot to prove and it's a shame there wasn't a bigger support there to see it. Like Scotty, I'd say well done but one swallow etc. The Aberdeen game was 3 months ago and we've waited a long time for a performance like that.
  22. My initial response was 'Mark who?' as well. AFAIK he signed for the tims on ?6k a week for 3 years. Up to him really if he wants to put his career on hold for 3 years while piling up the dosh so he never needs to work again.
  23. Aye rite enuff DC. I had a feeling something wasnae right. Actually Roughie is imprinted on my memory for other clangers such as dropping it at Krankl's feet..... The biggest howler I saw though was when Donnachie passed it back to Jim Blyth with 3 mins to go against Wales. We were up 1-0 and Wales had hardly caused us any bother so Blythie decided he would come out for a wander
  24. He took over at Keith in a Q-Cup tie in 1991 I think. 10 man Caley beat Keith 3-0.
  25. Pea and Ham, from a chicken? Now that's clever!
