Stand up if you can't sit down
Al giv you a wee insight into the running of this club. Due to illness, i am no longer working. I had been paying to go to football in Inverness since 1976 until a few yrs ago. Then at the tail end of last year, i find out i would qualify for a free season ticket because of my circumstances. Got my thinking head on, having seen half season tix for sale, I phoned the club about the possibility of an equal ticket being available to me. And i was shot down in flames and told I couldnt get one. Now.....where is the logic in this? On prob 85% of home games, there is prob the best part of 3000 ish seats unused. But rather than show a bit of initiative, (ie: bums on seats) they would rather bypass this matter. Says it all really! And as for cutting tix for away fans, thats ridiculous! Why limit yer income even more and have even more seats empty the majority of the time? I am no business brain, but I can see the flaw in yer proposition. Unless of course your anticipating a sudden surge of intrest from people wanting to come to the games? the sad fact is, the intrest doesnt appear to be there.

Should ICT settle for second best?
Bennet in todays Courier regarding Dargo......"We have made him as good an offer as we are able to," he stated. "However, Craig has been honest enough to tell us that he wants to wait and see what becomes available. Question is, should ICT allow themselves to potentially be Second choice should nothing come along for him? Personally, I dont want any mercinaries or the like at the club!

Former Football Grounds
Just looked thro the old stadium pics and was reminded of hamden. I remember as a child thinking the commentary box looked so unsafe and about to slip off the roof (hopefully wi **** brown in it). Also, Tannadice, was and still is the worst ground for me simply as its so bits and piecey. Am into symetrey and cant stand lopsided off centre stands.

Clach going to the wall... again?
I for one hope they stay alive, as I grew up up wi Clach fans and the craic was always great there on derby day in the old highland league days. Simple fact is tho, they cant keep getting bailed out only to get in a mess again. Dunno what the answer is but hopefully someonme does.

My memories of crowds etc are the same of yours clacher, as i sed, i went wen Caley were not the sucessful team and crowds were pish. Think it was Keith that was THE team at that point.

Has anyone got a copy of the book to hand? I clearly remember reading about AND being amazed by the crowds mentioned throught the book. In comparison, I was at A caley game in midweek which there was (if i remember correctly) 82. At minimum, am sure the average crowd in them days would be more than it is for ICT. U can argue the ....less to do in them days point all you want, but am sure the population rise would cancel that out.

To clacher_holiday....I was just re-reading some of this thread and thought i would clear a point u made in reply to my earlier post. When i was referring to crowds of 8000 in 60s, I wasnt meaning for OF teams or the like. I was meaning run of the mill Highland league games against the likes of Lossiemouth etc!!

Well, it wouldnt be the first ground that had more in it than its official capacity. Even 6000 should easily be achieve-able in Inverness on matchday. I would rather play to 6000 and take in lets say £30 000 at the gate, than take in the £30k and play in front of 3000

I see it like this. As an ex....er.......em......Caley fan ( am i allowed to say that?), why is it in the old Highland league days of the 1960s etc, you would get 8000+ turning up for games yet the population was prob a third of what it is today? Todays prices are a rip off, pure and simple! Considering the realities of all the money pressures on the "average" person. And am not reffering to the "average" person that the govt would have us believe that takes home £400 a week. I mean the real average person
