BBC website providing only stats for Championship, League 1 (and presumably League 2) games today. No textual description of what's happening. Is there some sort of strike on?

As I've said recently, I can't see anything coming to court. There will be no desire to spend more money with no guarantee of success - and no guarantee of recovering costs, let alone any embezzled funds, if there is success. -

There's a great book to be written about the past few years - starting with the Scottish Cup victory and documenting our descent since then. Only problem is that, because of the ages and ability to sue of the key characters, you won't be writing it, Charles, and I won't be reading it. And by the time it could be written, it will all have been forgotten anyway. -

I keep wondering if we will be permitted to sign new players. -

You're assuming that we will be allowed to sign/employ new people. And have the money. I have no idea. -

I would have hoped that Alan Savage would be able to give the Administrator chapter & verse on this, following his "forensic audit". Probably not the Administrator's concern, though. I suspect that we will hear nothing more of this in the future, nor about the apparent negligence of the rest of the Board for the past few years. I suspect that there will be nothing that would stand up in a court of law, and that any detailed public revelations could well lead to defamation claims, as Gardiner, for example, has already threatened. Nothing to see here, move along.... -
When I used to work (in IT), if you were payed expenses for travel to your normal place of work, then HMRC would treat that as a taxable benefit - ie an additional part of your income. Used to cause problems with long-term assignments, either when people were assigned to work on another site for a long time, or when they ended up working there for longer than originally planned. HMRC would claim that this site was now their "normal place of work". I think it was after two years that this was triggered. It's been a while, but I can't imagine that the rules have changed, nor that the rules are different for footballers.

Maroon, as a nod to Citadel FC, who played very near by. Maybe even change the club name to Citadel. (Is there still a club in the town with that name?) Should finish off the old Caley/Thistle rivalry, which belongs to 30 years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness_Citadel_F.C. Last time I suggested this, there was a pile of downvotes. So I'm ready this time -

"It is understood the group, who together already command a majority shareholding in the stricken Inverness club...." I'll let someone else crunch the numbers on the shareholders' list (available at Companies House) to work out which six individuals would have a majority shareholding As I said recently, last time I looked it seemed as though my old school buddy* Graham Rae has the largest individual shareholding. Please God not again! * Actually he wasn't a buddy - our paths simply never crossed. Though I was gobsmacked when he took over a few years ago. -

They had accepted a similar offer from Makwana, and at that time we all speculated on how they could do it. One theory was that maybe they could issue more shares, to be acquired by the new buyer, thus diluting the holdings of existing shareholders. But it wasn't clear to us if they had the power to do so, and also if they had to offer the new shares to existing shareholders as well or indeed first. -

It's Jack and the Beanstalk this year, so selling us out for a bag of beans would seem to fit the bill. -

I am sure that most of us would agree with you there, Charles, but I can't see it happening. Gardiner, I think, is unlikely to want to incur the costs of suing Savage and the club, given that there is no guarantee of winning. (NB, like economists and game theorists, I am assuming that he will act rationally.) Savage, too, won't want to spend any more money if he can avoid it. Even if he and the club won, what would be the chances of recovering their costs from Gardiner? I suspect we may have a bluffing game here, with Gardiner making noises in the hope that Savage concludes that it would be cheaper to pay him off than to see him in court. -

I don't think that Savage is deliberately playing chicken with Morrison & co, but there must be an element of that in there somewhere. Potentially losing a large sum of money would concentrate the mind wonderfully. -

His statement about the finiancial problems simply says "by Wednesday, 16th October". https://ictfc.com/club-update-2/ And the crowdfunder announcement says "no later than Wednesday 16th October 2024". https://ictfc.com/save-ict-fund/ -

I hope that you're right. But I think that silence might simply indicate that no-one has their act together -
Beeb reporting some unusual penalties! " 1' Goal! Livingston 3(1), Inverness CT 4(1). Andrew Shinnie (Livingston) right footed shot from more than 35 yards to the top right corner. 1' Goal! Livingston 2(1), Inverness CT 4(1). Charlie Gilmour (Inverness CT) right footed shot from more than 35 yards to the bottom right corner. 1' Goal! Livingston 2(1), Inverness CT 3(1). Jake Davidson (Inverness CT) right footed shot from more than 35 yards to the high centre of the goal. "

So my first question would be "Where did you get the money for this?".

For anyone that has never seen The Classic Rock Show
snorbens_caleyman replied to tm4tj's topic in Classic Music
The good: immaculate playing and singing, incredibly close to the sound of the records. Great sound. Decent effects. The not-so-good: I saw a show, not a band playing. Virtually no communication with the audience (who were very enthusiastic). No attempt to build a rapport with the audience. Maybe one or two smiles all night between band members. No enthusiasm. Otherwise it was just a bunch of people very professionally going through the motions. Not the slightest touch of spontaneity. So, it depends on what you are looking for. In a live band, I look for spontaneity, audience interaction and the building of a rapport, deviation from studio recordings, improvisation. This wasn't my idea of a live band - this was actors going through their script, which just happened to be music. So I have concluded that single band tributes are just not my cup of tea!
