Yes.  Because otherwise there could be an advantage for the finalists who played there in the semis. 

Just that little bit of local knowledge - how the wind swirls, for example - or simply being a bit more familiar with the place, could be a factor which helps to make a difference in the final.

The rules of the competition include this:  "10.3  The venues and all other arrangements for the Semi-Final Matches and the Final Match shall be determined by the Board [of the SFA]. "

Maybe the Supporters Trust could nudge the club into asking the SFA if the announcement could be brought forward?

As MorayJaggie has pointed out, the Celtic semi will be the big one, attracting a bigger crowd and more TV interest, no matter whether the opponents are Rangers or Aberdeen.  On that basis, surely the SFA could start talking NOW to the police, the BBC, and whoever else needs to be involved.

If Graham Rae hasn't met the Celtic chairman, then this would be a good time to introduce himself.  (Before the Final )    Since Celtic are the other team definitely in the semis, see if they would back a request for an early announcement. They too will have fans who will want to get off work, and to travel to Glasgow from long distances.

What we don't know is whether the announcement will be made soon after the semis, which still gives everyone a month.  Or whether after the semis is when the SFA will start talking to everyone to determine the schedule.

I had a quick look at the Hearts documentation this afternoon, and the short answer is "no".  In fact the Foundation of Hearts documentation says explicitly that the Foundation will not interfere with the running of the club.

The ICT Supporters Trust already has 10% of the voting rights. Would be interesting to know what level of supporter involvement would be felt to be appropriate.

I was thinking that you might have to incentivise people, by having a draw every week and returning some of the money to the fans.  Say 10%, which would be £250 to £1000 given the figures above.

Then I remembered the Centenary Club.   I have no idea how it does, and I'm not asking you to tell us.   But maybe you could get some idea from it how much money a new scheme might take in.  Although two apparently competing schemes might not be a good idea.

Yes, I am ignoring fitness/injuries, fixture congestion, etc etc. As a supporter it's easy for me to want to go for everything. But I assume that the club and the team want that too.

Whilst not disagreeing with you, I'd be surprised if there was anything in the rules of the competition which permitted the SFA to do that. 

I assume the rules of membership of the SFA would allow them to penalise - or eject - a club whose behaviour was substandard.  But, as with any disciplinary procedure, I'd expect there to be a series of warnings of increasing formality and seriousness before any action could take place. The club might also take the SFA to court - although apparently defending sectarian abuse would be an interesting brief for a lawyer!

Surely these are public order offences?  Can the police not take action?

But, from the radio commentary, it sounded as though he did well.
