If it is on Radio Scotland it will be on MW so not sure if you will get that online.

Thanks for that.  I have found the MW schedule, and, yes, it IS listed.  Will be available on the BBC Sounds radio streamer.

I'll be listening - so make a lot of noise!

Believe radio Scotland has commentary of the game. No TV this time round. Need to progress to get back on the auld box

I can't find it listed online.  Radio Scotland is listing "Get It On" with Bryan Burnett between 18:30 and 21:00 on Tuesday.

So unless Colin Campbell is doing a commentary on Radio Bettyhill...

  3. That's basically what I was trying to say yesterday - except that I looked only at the worst case of coming straight back down.

As well as the boost to finances, it would also give the team experience of football at the higher level.  That would clarify who could make the grade and who couldn't - and would also identify those who have the desire to make the grade versus those who don't.

If it was a referendum, I'd vote for promotion!

The chairman is at fault for not replacing Oakley and not telling us what is happening at the club! We know nothing like where is Angus Beith, where is the money from his selling etc.

Has anyone actually said that the chairman plays any part at all in player movements?  If so, I've missed it.

  5. What harm would it do if we went up and then came straight down?  Assuming we didn't stupidly overstretch the finances in an attempt to stay up.

Increased revenue plus a parachute payment for the following season, to be balanced against demoralised players and coaching staff (and supporters).

I understand your point, and I'm playing devil's advocate here...

Cannot believe we continue to play one way the long ball in the general direction of Jordan White. Every time we pumped it forward we just gave them possession to come at us again.

And didn't you all say a while back that when we try to play it out of defence, we always lose the ball too close to our own goal?

Not having seen them play for a while, but having read all the comments here, I was quite surprised at what I saw last night. Better - maybe quite a lot better - than I expected.

But it's clear that apart from the likes of Ridger, Tremarco and Doran, there is very little quality in the side. There's no always-dangerous striker - just a bunch of guys who might get lucky and score.  There's no rock-solid dependable defender - the wheels can come off at any time.

But there's naivety as well.  Why blast the ball over the bar from 30 yards when you're one up with just a few minutes to go?  Take the ball, get over to the corner flag, and dig in.  They can't score from there.

Time and again I've read comments here about how the other side "conned the ref" or made the most of a situation.  Now I don't want us to start cheating, but a little more cunning, more street-smartness - let's even call it "game management" - could compensate for a lack of footballing quality.

Though how you impart that to the players, I do not know.  Given his tactical stubbornness, I can't see JR doing it.

Not going to be able to see it since it's on BBC2 Scotland and I can't get that down here

You should be able to get it live on BBC iPlayer on your computer, or on your TV if it has the iPlayer app.   (Or maybe via Sky or Virgin if you have that - I don't, so I don't know.)

On iPlayer on a computer, if you scroll down past all the info about what's on, you should eventually see a prompt that says "Change location", followed by your default location (mine was "London").

This allows you to get the BBC regional programmes.  So if you change the location to "Scotland", you can get BBC2 Scotland.

Later added info - the description above applies to iPlayer on a computer.  I have just checked on my TV, and the "change location" feature is under "settings", which appears at the top right of the screen.  I don't know if there are different versions of the iPlayer app on different TVs - if there are, it may be somewhere else again.  But the point is, it is possible and you should be able to watch the match!

Should also be able to do this when the new BBC Scotland channel replaces BBC2 Scotland later this month, and they start showing live league games.

  8. More power to you!   Noting also what you've said about your meeting with the club yesterday, if you could regularly get coverage in the local papers then that could help bring some more fans in or back.

Hopefully more positive stories about less controversial topics.  But if you can give the impression that there is an active, forward-looking Supporters' Trust, working with the club - well, that can't be a bad thing, can it?

  9. We discovered today that the guy who runs the cheese stall in our local market is thinking of jacking it all in after Brexit.  He has been a stallholder for 25 years.

He is Dutch, and was telling us that twice a year he would have to go to the Dutch embassy in London and fill in a dozen forms about his business.  Not to mention all the extra checks that he would have to go through whenever he makes a trip to France and the Netherlands to collect cheese, as he does every week or two.

So going home to NL and selling his cheese there is currently very attractive to him.

The stallholder next to him is Belgian, and is thinking of going home too. After 30 years in England. His wife is English, but would take out a Belgian passport if she can.

In addition to the headline-grabbing losses, it will be a myriad "little things" like this that will make the UK a poorer place after Brexit.

Not even a draw  against Partick!!!!! What is going on with this team. Really need to question what the coaching staff and manager are doing with this team .

I think you need to look at the table. There are only 12 points between us and the bottom team, which isn't a lot after 23 games.

I usually reckon that averaging one point per game means that you are safe from relegation. At the moment Alloa are just "safe" with 23 from 23 - but Partick and Falkirk have 22 and 21 respectively.

I think that any of the bottom 7 are capable of taking points off each other at any time.  There is no club dropping way behind the others.

It appears that the Prime Minister has 'united' her party by promising that she will go to Brussels and bring them back a living dodo. Farce and incompetence heaped upon farce and incompetence.

Compounded, it must be said, by the complete inertia and otherwordliness of Her Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition,  who have maintained that the way forward is for them to get into power, after which they will be able to negotiate a new and different deal.  I doubt if today's talks will make much difference.

A plague on both their houses!

Spfl have actually held the pitch inspection half and hour before the yellow weather warning is in place? Starts at 12.00 today until 11.00 tomorrow. Injuries from falls, slips and trips possible but a game can't go ahead because it's a bit windy?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't....

Sensible to have an early inspection before the team and fans set out.  If conditions deteriorate, can always have another one.

And I remember Robbo was quoted as saying that postponing the previous match because of the wind was "the correct decision".

The only big sides lost to the HL were Caley and Elgin and at a push Peterhead,

What's your definition of "big"?  I'll grant you that Thistle's last few seasons in the HL weren't good.

But in their last four seasons, County finished in positions 1, 1, 5, and 3. In that last season they were equal on points with Caley but lost out on goal difference.

That's a loss to the HL by any normal standards.
